HERE WeGo - Offline Maps & GPS

This app is one of the best apart from when there is an update. Twice over recent weeks I've been caught out when I'm away from any WiFi. Once a new update is waiting, the app on the phone becomes useless. It spins round, shakes and can't locate your position, all at the most inconvenient times. It also lags badly when an update waiting. I was at a fork in the road recently, the app showed to take the left fork, a few yards down the road, it changed to the right fork. Annoying. Please address this problem?

Worse update ever. One of the best offline maps is now totally useless. I've been using Here for years until this crazy update. It doesn't recognize or point to the previous downloaded map. I have 15Go of maps that cannot even been deleted!! The new maps don't work offline, it takes ages to find an address and most of the time it just says that the address is unknown. Really? My own address doesn't exist? What is your strategy at Here? You want to lose all your users? Well, job done!

EDIT working after reinstalling... confidence shaken but ok./ It used to be great but since the last update, it keeps crashing and won't connect properly with my (samsung) smartwatch, perhaps because of its instability issues. I can't even close it without shutting down my phone. I'd gladly use the new beta version if it worked with my smartwatch but so far this functionality isn't implemented. I'd love for this app to go back to its previous functionality! I used to love and rec it around me...

After the update, search no longer works offline even with the maps downloaded. The screen has too many boxes that you cannot remove so makes the navigation difficult to see the directions. Why have you made the app worse? The app has become difficult to use and not intuitive.

An alternative app, no matter the use. Its about the same as Google or Waze at driving, but the traffic information is pretty much useless. The only thing that this app beats is Open Street Map apps, but even those would have more data about the points of interest along the route. It is also decent at routing while walking, but because Waze is only for driving. Google is far better. Again, it's better than the Open Street Map apps with much smaller maps. Anyway I put it, this app comes third.

Finally a navigation app that is really working like you want it! The only thing that's still missing is showing the right map direction while in the car without compass data. It works fine after giving a destination, but just driving and seeing the map properly only works when you have compass data. My android car system does not provide this data. Update: on route it switches between 3d and 2d view (based on how close the next instruction is), this might also be caused by lacking compass data

I've used this navigation app for several years, but it's just broken now. It won't load properly, is laggy/slow, and just doesn't function like it used to. It was my go to navigation app. It's not a phone issue, because I've had several different ones over the past year or so and it was the same with all of them. I really hope they get it fixed, but I've moved in to other navigation apps. Here Wego will still remain on my phone, in the hopes it gets improved.

Looks good, but badly written and maintained. When you take a wrong turn, it recalculates the entire (say, 500 miles long journey) which takes forever in offline mode (even on a flagship phone), and it also forgets your route preference (if you chose route B, now it's navigating you on route A, and it won't let you know about it). Maps can only be downloaded one by one, and their server is often congested, so your downloads can take hours and repeatedly break down. It's a pity.

Please take this app back to how it was 8 years ago, I loved it, travelling around Europe and remote Australia with the off-line maps it was so so good, I would happily pay for it had stayed the way it was, so much functionality is missing now and the off-line maps just doesn't seem to find anything like it used to, I just can't use it anymore

The app is great for offline navigation, but it seems like the option to change the language disappeared (was it ever even there?) and it set the language to a random on my phone. I searched through all available options but I can't fina how to change the language. It should be made so that it's easily accessible.

Graphics is good, something different from Google Maps, which is nice. Unfortunately the App is working only in major cities, towns outside of major cities are on the map, but addresses are not found, rural areas it can not even find a street. UPDATE: As it was recommended by the developer, tried to do a comparison test typing same address in the App and other Navigation Apps. Unfortunately the issue with not able to find the address is still there, especially if it's not in urban centers.

Good for back up to any other nav app. Very unfriendly and missing features. Bring back drive mode sometimes you just want a map not some worthless voice telling you that you past a destination. Need to be able to turn off buildings. Just the basic stuff that was in the last version. I have been using this as my only map app since it was Nokia Maps. I have seen it take steps backwards but this is the first time I have thought it was time to change.

The old version of the app was really good it was simple to use and accurate. Since the upgrade it has become more cumbersome and significantly more difficult to use. Very laggy and often has to go online to find addresses that should be available. I had used the old version of here drive for years but am very frustrated with the new version as it is much less user friendly and a lot less robust.

I've used the app to navigate through Switzerland. I find direction changes more exact than(visual) google one. Voice seems to be sync'd now so no more instructions after you pass the turning point. What i feel a bit strange is that it does not ask for change to shorter route as in i select the longest one and after a few minutes i find that it tries to take me on the route he decides is the shortest (time based). I would like to be asked if this change should apply.

The bugs are finally worked out. I remember when this update launched it was terrible no offline maps, terrible routes (tried to get me to drive on small farm roads instead of an interstate motorway). Because of these bugs i had reverted back to the old app. I have postponed updating until today. I am happy to see offline maps as well as good routes and other bugs worked out. I still would like to see the old 3d effect when in motion, i really miss it

Hi, I like the app a lot. Been using it for many years now and always worked well for me. One anoying thing is when you use the app online it's dificult to get to offline setting. Lose connection and the app is stuck. You need to cancel navigation and switch to offline mode. Very very anoying. Overall still very reliable thru the years.

I offered you 5 stars because in the past I really liked this application and it was useful for me. Currently you have many disadvantages, pedestrian guidance does not work offline, the means of transport do not display them ... (a single means of transport and there were over five variants). As time went on, I thought it would get better and better, but unfortunately the opposite is happening. It would be good if you did something about it and be no. 1. SUCCESS !!!!!

This new release has trashed the app completely! Earlier we were able to switch between 2D and 3D but now it's not possible. The map is behaving as it whishes and no settings for that. Another thing is that now we are not having the chioice of "drive only" which was very useful! Please put back at least "drive only", thank you!

Compared with the old version I would not recommend the app or the maps to anyone. Total failure for use in Southern Hemisphere. Travel direction upside down,cannot recalculate new route once you depart from starting route,does not work with Android Auto, still needs online data for walk mode, offline maps very poor compared with previous maps etc etc. Would give this version 0 zero stars compared with older versions. The developers should not be proud of this new rubbish. Looking for better app

Two things REALLY let this down. 1. House numbers are never where they say they are. Houses seem to be about 10 houses off. 2. The navigation voice when connected to Bluetooth sounds incredibly robotic. The app looks fantastic, but these two features mentioned above are enough to put me off. Shame really.

Good app with clear voice instructions, clean design needs better screen options like displaying route as 3d map or heading up that sort of stuff. Following route on current design is difficult at times as it not displayed in the right oritation. Pre update was much better for this. Has the tendency of telling you about your next turn late.

Here was our go-to for navigating, especially out of country trying to avoid data fees. Now, it is clunkyc, disfunctional and we're getting another app. Doesn't navigate well, doesn't always work when off-line, (which is why we use it), doesn't update trips well.
