Worst app ever. On reservation screen, it has two buttons, modify and cancel. If you click cancel, it will cancel your reservation but it seems like "go back to the previous menu". Be careful. I want to say the worst UX designer in the world.
Hertz has two apps out there, this is apparently the latest. I marked down the rating because I was unable to reserve the car on this app because the app would not accept my mobile number. I kept receiving a error message to input a mobile number (NZX573). So I reserved on the old app. That app kept giving me dates a day later than what I wanted. So I reserved the incorrect dates then went back to the new app to modify my reservation, which was successful. How painful.
Awful app. The worst app I have ever downloaded. The developers should be embarrassed. After two hours I cannot register nor upload my details. It would have been quicker to walk to my nearest depot and do everything over the counter. Instead, will go elsewhere. Absolute rubbish.
The best part of this app is that it changes prices! I almost paid 130pln more at the checkout. Page earlier it was telling me that I will pay much less. Luckily I haven't provided some booking details, so I had to go back and then noticed higher price. Same on their website. I took a screen shot where there are two prices: one in bigger font (lower price) and another (higher) in smaller font. If you reload the page, all resets to the higher price. Cheaters!
The app did the job handily, and I was able to reserve a car quickly from my phone. The credit card stored in my profile wasn't up to date, and it didn't give me a way to update it during the reservation process, so I hope it doesn't cause an issue at pick up time. Take time to scroll down the list of available options before automatically picking the first car on the list. There are more price options available further down the list.
The app works, but it is having a major issue with UI language that hasn't been fixed for a long time. The language is set to en-US in Settings, but when traveling in China part of UI is in Chinese, rendering it useless. When trying to book a car in Germany while traveling in Russia part of the interface is in cyrylics. Why is there no way to force-fix the UI language to just one?
It's a good app in general. I wish they gave more info about what models of cars are included in each category though. The regular website has entirely different models listed than on the app which makes me even MORE uneasy. I kinda hate everything about all car rentals and I have tried them all. Hertz has the fewest problems in my experience so I just stay loyal to them. They have "points" that you accrue but I have never been able to use them for anything.
Got to the last step of the booking and received an error to enter my phone number (number already shown in online profile) but was taken to a page that does not include a place to enter my number. Finally found it on the subsequent booking step. Then my credit card was out of date but the app does not allow entering of payment info. So I updated my profile on the web page, but the app still showed the old card. Quit and restarted, same thing. Finally cleared the app data and it worked, but of course at that point I had to go through the entire reservation again. Overall not a convenient experience.
It pretty behind on user friendliness. I find it difficult to connect my frequent flyers number in to the app. It doesn't support dual window. I'm constantly having switch between screens to enter my rewards numbers that I know I entered when I set the app up. overall pretty clunky. Hertz is great though.
The app shall be upgraded. There is no possibility to check your membership data. If there is no available cars, it doesn't say it, it just doesn't show prices and you can't complete rental. From another side, if everything is fine, it works good. Would be a good addition if there would be a possibility to get a printed version of a receive.
Better than the Europcar app. Easy to use and navigate. Experiences with Hertz have been above and beyond.
As a long time five Star gold member and regular renter for the last 10 years I have always found this app slightly glitchy but the last few days I have been trying to book a car on it with no success. I click the option to pay now and it just reverts to the selection of cars page. Very disappointed with Hertz. I have tried updating the app and also tried to book on iOS devices as well as android and they both have the same issue. Do better Hertz or I will switch to enterprise.
the experience with Hertz is great, really slick except; the guys told me to enter where to pick up the car in the comments box and enter EI for T2 at Dublin airport. the android phone app does not allow you to do this when you enter your travel details. I do not arrive by airline or train. Now I will have to go into the terminal and wait around to pick up the car which is an unnecessary delay. please fix this omission. thanks.
It doesn't seem to have been written for mobile first as the forms, input and dialog boxes are disproportionate. It works, tho... for the most part re-rated it... it suddenly forgot my credentials and had me scrambling to get those while in transit. it also keeps asking me to rate the app when I already have
Pretty much unusable. Doesn't remember login details and on attempting to reserve, the time selector doesnt work
Hertz used to have a fully functioning website and app but they have outsmarted themselves. it's taken me at least 20 tries to successfully book my rental, going over the same material over and over. Looks good but software makes it much more difficult to do what should be a relatively simple task.
Updated to new app. It actually works! Worlds better than the previous. Took a while, but good job Hertz. *** App stopped working as of a few weeks ago. I can log in, but once I do, all I see is a blank white screen whenever I tap any buttons. I'm a President's Circle member and disappointed that I can't conduct any business through the app. I've started renting with other companies whose app works, unfortunately.
I have used many travel apps. This ranks in the bottom 20%. Too much information is required. The links and instructions are not clear. The Business/Leisure page uses unknown abbreviations and the effect of choosing one option or the other entirely unclear. Not a good experience.
It's good for just picking a case and go. Wish it would give more info on the specific car. Unless you go to the website and go through the car guide there just gives very basic info. Needs to add more info on exact cast models and explain some of the fees at the end. Like an airport concession fee.
The app is straightforward. The big problem I encountered is that the language changes to the local language of the region I am in while traveling abroad and there does not seem to be a way to switch it back to the default language I have the app or my OS is set to. Please fix as the app is virtually unusable while traveling abroad.
Hertz. Just made a reservation in air. Can't land at Destination. Great App, but You drive me crazy sometimes. Why are you so intent on sending me emails demanding my flight information? Same for app reservations. Your chipping away at my limited time in the day to get my work done ahead of business travel. This is convenient for you and your operations, but I have no time to respond to the persistent "Add your flight information to your reservation so we can better serve you" emails.
The most frustrating and nearly useless app of all the rental car companies. Can't check out with it, won't return you to where you rented, doesn't know anything about your current rental without providing it all the information. If I had it all I would not be looking for it in the app!
App is slow and frustrating... I have tried multiple times to book a car.... No, i am going elsewhere
I used this app for years, but now it's really messed up! I have to log in every time ('remember me' is a lie), and today it didn't work at all. Last time, time entry is a fight: I scrolled to select 9:30am (I wish I could just type it!), & it changes it to a random time: midnight, midday, 7pm 😕. 'Contact us' function just goes to a blank screen, so I rang my Hertz office, but at the end of the phone maze it said I should use this broken app! Hertz isn't worth the loyalty programme any more.
