Godawful! It is a nightmare to get set up and then fails without warning, and refuses to connect to the system. The whole system requires significant networking knowledge to set up. Mine cannot be accessed any more because it has set my account seemingly randomly, and it cannot be changed. Just get a different system - any will do and be less frustrating.
As far as live feed it's okay but when it's time to rewind to see what happened pretty much all the comments regarding that is true. If there was a major upgrading this is what I'll like to have. 1) option to convert it from military time. 2) fix the buffering. 3)coming up with a new system for identifying specific days and time. Instead of using one big timeline.
Doesn't seem to be very reliable ! keeps coming up with error codes, not playing back, slow viewing and freezing, plus jumping minutes so overall not very useful as I am a security guard. The cameras ect were installed by a professional and seems to be fine when viewing on site. But having problems when viewing on phones. I have read both positive and negative reviews on here so it may be something I am doing wrong. If so I will give a better rating if anyone can help to fix .
Hik vision camera hardware is good but on the app side it it needs a lot of work. They have improved the app a lot in the last 6 months, currently it is in a semi intuitive state but has a tiny learning curve. But it needs more improvement and needs to be user friendly. I use both on android and ios, later is more clunky. And it's going to be a nightmare if you want to setup your mobile to access surveillance system. They should take notes from xiaomi MI camera app which is very user friendly.
App has been good until recently, now there are no alarm notifications through the app badge on the home screen. After opening the app, there is no indication of alarm notifications. However, if I push the "notification" button at the bottom of the screen I will see the events and can access the video. A recent update to the app appears to the be the problem.
The app was working just fine about a month ago. Loved it. Controlled everything while being at work. Now all of the sudden Live View is not loading up at all. Apparently it only works now via WiFi, which is pointless of course. I want to be able to view my cameras with mobile data no matter where I am. Running on Samsung S9. Hopefully there is a fix soon!
Works ok on Android. Two way calls after a doorbell push are quite delayed, wifes iphone is much faster. My biggest complaint is since i got a new phone, pixel 3, the app will only make the default notification sound on motion alert, even when i have it set to something else in the app. If I happen to have the app open on my phone it will play the sound I've selected.
Good except for a couple of things. Following features should be added/improved *CCTV footage playback functionality is very poor. better to add an option,so the footage can be fastforwarded/rewinded. As per the current version, if you missed 6 hours, you need to watch the footage for whole 6 hours. *Footage can be viewed per camera at a time. cant use playback option for all the cameras at once. Better if that functionality too can be added. Cheers!! \m/
Have been trying to use this app with the Hikvision 6003 doorbell. It only occasionally rings the phone when the doorbell is pressed. Seems to be ok if the phone is completely unlocked and fully awake or if the app is open. Other than that I am missing a lot of doorbell rings. Not very good as I am having to install a chime which is defeating the object of having a smart doorbell with push and call notifications. Oddly enough it seems to work a lot better on my iOS device... Might even return the doorbell as this app means is not fit for purpose.
It's a very difficult App to use/operate. It keeps asking to stop use battery power and in doing that I lost other phone settings. It doesn't flow smooth and it occasionally freezes or images of moving objects just stop, freeze or zap past the screen at incredible speed. Since I've used it, I've had a hell of a problem with it. I cannot even set the App to sound an alarm, even though the notification settings are correct. It's now the 22nd April and still no success in connecting to the network.
I've had a incident over the weekend which I wasn't present for. But know the rough time period it happen. But it's over 3 days and not having a fast forward button or option is absolutely stupid. Cause now I have to sit down and watch three days worth of footage. For such a expensive system to get set up, this feature needs to be added or the system is pretty much pointless and will be telling people to save there money.
The camera system always reverts to basic view and won't stay on HD, what's the point!! Also, when trying to view playback it never seems to want to load. It is the only system I EVER have problems enough losing video playback. I have ADT camera system as well and never have problems. I really HATE that it won't spee and automatically stay in. HD mode.
This is a review of the app, not the DVR and cameras. My experience over about 3 months is very favourable - goes quickly to live view and mostly replays well. Only problems I have had are with the playback function, which occasionally fails but normally works after restarting the app. The camera selection process is not ideal but works. For some reason, I was unable to get the app to recognize the dvr device when I used the ocr tool but fine when I typed in the details manually - maybe a bug.
At first the app had a few bugs but they have an integrated feedback that allows you to see the feedback you've submitted. (pay attention Google. You should allow us to see the feedback we've submitted also!) They fixed the bugs, added fingerprint authentication, streaming is fast and fluid with easy navigation from my phone.
Smooth seamless experience I would say. Creating and logging in was easy. User friendly navigation menu and GUI. I can go back in time and check the recording, store to my local and capture pictures and many more features.(depends on the installation equipment one has). Only issue I faced is not able to share the stored video on phone through whatsapp and it keep on failing when I try to attach the file.
I knew I should've left it alone but I couldn't permanently dismiss the update reminder page :( This app is unpredictable at the best of times but V3.whatever (the last iteration) had been working generally okay for me. Then came that insistent update page. At first I couldn't update it at all because it would just open the last Chrome page I'd looked at, but once I'd figured that out and performed the update... it stopped loading some of my cameras. And I can't revert back. Here we go again :(
After updating to the newest version of the Hik~Connect App, I started experiencing issues with playback mode. It denies me viewing and disconnects from the system. But I will say the Hik~Connect support line is excellent and very customer oriented in resolving setup issues. I'm hoping they will resolve these glitches with the newest app as they were not present with the old version of this app.
The CCTV product is excellent, can't say the same for this app. It is a rare event it shows up images of all my cameras. 3 days' ago it was working ok. Now I can't get any image, just the word 'offline'. The app said there is a 4.3 version released with whatever new features. I went to the Google App Store and there is no such download. So I don't know why I have no images and just 'offline' message. Very frustrating and high time to get serious and up their game.
Overall a good app for use with Hikvision products. @Developers I use this app with my Wifi doorbell and it falls short in many ways compared to other options on the market as 'Ring' Missing Features: 1. Record to microSD and back up to cloud 2. Differentiate motion detection from doorbell button press on search 3. Separate notifications for motion detection and doorbell press, be able to disable one without affecting the other. 4. Voice prompts on doorbell are shockingly bad, these need to be updated, just use a 'Ring' product and compare. 5. Multiple user profiles - only allows one user per doorbell
The hikvision doorbell has a massive flaw, if you turn off notifications for the motion detection you don't get notifications when someone presses the doorbell, so if like me you have cats and a pir light that's constantly setting off the motion detection of the camera you will get an abundance of useless notifications every day. This app needs an option that allows the camera to record motion detections but doesn't notify you except when someone presses the doorbell.
Considering the quality of the products from Hikvision, the app is poor. It always loses the camera feed from one camera so you have to select it each time rather than opening the app and both cameras being visible immediately. Also, I have to select HD Footage every time, as it always loads in Standard Definition. App needs massive improvements to be useable in my opinion
On the NVR, when I go to playback recording, I see the full continuous recording and the event markers. As soon as I click and event market, I can see who walked by or what motion took place. On this app, there’s no way to do that.. this is a big flaw.. what if I’m in the office and want to see what kind of activity took place.. I won’t be able to.. this really sucks. Not really professional for a such product.
Great app for viewing all my cameras connected to the Hikvision NVR. Would give 5 stars if there was a fast forward option on video playback. Something like 2X, 4X, 8X etc. It's not so useful viewing playback at normal speed moving if you are just reviewing footage for any events. The slider is great but you miss chunks of footage when reviewing.
had the system installed a few days app works well, down side is if you enter the app and use the record button it only records while the phone is on the open page once you close the phone case and come back to it the recordings have stopped from the moment you close the phones case? which means it's not recording at all! what's the point of paying over a thousand pounds yo have a system fitted to see what's going on in your recordings when it's not recording??? and I have no manuals either
Have been using this app with no problem for about 2 years. Last few days it keeps telling me about an upgrade to 4.3, but it is not possible to download it. Also the google store doesnt show this update. Since trying to update I can no longer watch my cameras when not using wifi, which maybe me changing a setting by accident, but it seems weird it now wont work properly since attempting an update.
Unable to download and use the app without a lot of difficulty. Wants to access things on your phone that it does not need to work such as camera, contacts, settings. Constant loop of the settings, log in, set up, uninstall common stall. Not user friendly. Needs to be completely revamped.
This app has an insanely annoying bug, where it constantly steals audio away from other devices during phone calls and forces it out of the speaker. You will find yourself on a private phone call and suddenly the other party is being broadcast from the phone speaker. The only solution is to disable notifications from the app, but recent updates means that this isn't always obeyed and it continues to impact phone calls. I've reported it to Hikvision and even had some feedback that it would be escalated for investigation, but since then I've heard nothing, despite chasing. Sad to say, but it renders the app almost useless for me, despite it working pretty well otherwise. Annoying :-(
This app used to be really good, one of the best from Hik-Vision. Now it's rubbish, half of the features fail to work properly, but the really bad part that has just happened since the last update is that when trying load load video stream from a single camera, it streams for a few seconds then gives the error 'Video Playing Failed' Error Code: 330047 which means nothing to a Google search. Out of interest, some of my IOS clients who use the same app have informed me their IOS version works perfect. Come on Hik-Vision, sort this mess out... Or are the Chinese governemnt breaking this on purpose?
Comparing it to my old KGuard system's app, this HikConnect app works like a dream! The feeds never break, I can record and share footage, I can stream all my cameras, unlike the KGuard system. The only problem is that a feed stops after 5 minutes. Why though? I need a constant feed without interruptions! That's the point of having a system like this! Give me uninterrupted streams!
I use this app with the Hikvision intercom and I must say it works almost perfectly fine. If I don't open the application once in a while the call fails to go through or takes a lot of time. Also, please add the functionality of shortcuts so that we can unlock a door without entering the app but simply create a shortcut as a button on our home screen. Thanks and well done.
