Good app & mostly satisfied with music selections, podcasts & playlists. But what happened to the alarm clock function where I could set the app to turn on at a specific time when the morning radio show I like starts. I have to listen on here because its not syndicated in my town, but I don't like having to completely wake up, start the app & set the radio station. Wish I could go back to where the app did all that on its own.
I'd say it's five stars for sure, but I'm having an issue just recently that makes me put it at 4 stars...I listen to live radio all day at work (on a golf course) using my mobile connection and I've been doing this forever daily and it always works excellent. The signal may cut off the radio from time to time depending on where I am at work, but it'll always come right back on automatically, but the past week it's not working at all besides podcasts and artist channels. Any suggestions?
I've used this app for years to download podcasts. Now it randomly deleted my whole list. Tried to re-download them. It used to take just a minute or two to download a podcast now it takes up to an hour for an hour and a half podcast. I won't be paying for the app any longer. I'm not sure why it's such a failure lately but not worth the money. I'll just move to Spotify for my podcasts.
i use this app everyday. Lately ive noticed that when im listening to my talk radio shows all the sudden it disconnects and cricketts...... I have to close the app and reopen it to connect back to the show im listening to. Im wondering if this is a bug that was planted to keep listeners from listening to conservative talk shows. It cuts out in hopes that i get frustrated and stop listening to that station. By the way, i only have this problem with conservative talk shows. Deep State at work????
An app I use daily for my favorite out of town live radio shows. Unfortunately when I navigate out (to another app that uses audio) and back in to the app a short list of "default" songs start automatically playing. When this happens I have to stop the live station and press play again for it to reload the show I was listening to.
Love the app but the love is fading fast. The my favorite station needs some work. It plays the same songs over and over again. For example,I have at least 20+ songs favorited by Michael Jackson yet it only plays the same one over and over. Does that with alot of artists. I'll have alot favorited from all kinds of artists yet most of them I don't hear anything from. Plz retweak it or fix it
I've had this for years and mostly listen to podcasts. Recently, it forgets where I'm at in my podcast and starts from the beginning every time. I know it's free because of ads, but lately, the ads are overwhelming. And lastly, this has always been an issue, but it would be nice if it would automatically play the next episode instead of back episodes. Might be time for a new app.
I've used iHeartRadio for years and have always been very pleased. I have a monthly subscription, it's low cost and great quality. I can stream from my television, phone, computer, anywhere I am. It's great for long car rides or listening to music while cleaning the house. I even listen to relaxing sounds while going to bed. I've never had any issues! I've previously tried other similar services and they just don't measure up to what you get with iHeartRadio!!!
Subscribers still have to deal with a kind of ad. Commercial blocs are replaced by songs, that you can't skip, stop, and start playing again, without having to listen to the whole thing over and over until the app decides you listened to enough advertisement time to let you start listening to the actual song your chosen station is playing.
It's 2022 and app can't even remember the last position of a podcast if you close it before finishing. I came from other podcast apps because I thought this app would be an upgrade, but there are so many "basic" features that this app lacks. Going to try out another app, which is a pain because I took a long time to mark a lot of episodes as played in a long running podcast series when I first switched over. Ugh!
This app used to be great. Now it is so glitchy. It constantly restarts and every time it plays another ad. I hate that it's the only place I can listen to Z100 and KIIS FM in the morning! 😩 5/5/22 the app seems to be working much better over the last few weeks. There have been two updates from Samsung for my S22+ so maybe that helped 👍
The app will play songs instead of playing live radio when you are listening to local channels. I always miss parts of my favorite morning show. When they broadcast local news, I Heart plays its own random music instead. It keeps repeating the same 2 or 3 commercials over and over that my station doesn't play. It also plays songs from a different genre then my station plays. JUST STICK TO WHAT THE LIVE RADIO PLAYS!!! I bought a mini radio to carry at work instead!!!
For the past 10 or 12 years that I've been in love with this app along with my aggressive efforts to make/convert any and everyone I know to make the switch to this wonderful app I've only had one let down, (and it hurt lol) which was when they took the alarm off that turns on the app with your favorite radio station. 😔😒😨😨 please bring back that feature 🙏🏿
This is the least listener-friendly music app I have ever used. If you start an artist station, you hardly ever hear music from that artist again, and you're lucky to even hear content relative to the genre and decades of their recordings! A couple of times, I put on an artist station, went in the shower, and the music was all over the place! It went as far off as 1930's quartets and Mexican Mariachi bands! This app is a total waste of time.
If you're listening for actual music, it's alright. If you're trying to listen to live programming, ads cut in at random points- sometimes even mid-song- with prerecorded ads or entirely different songs. Also, there is no way to report ads for inappropriate content, which has been getting worse since February; I have ad targeting disabled for a reason, but I still don't want to be broadcasting ads for sexual aids at work, or hearing them at all :|
I've kept going with this app for a long time because it used to be good. It has been getting less and less friendly to free users and I'm finally done. You can't play specific songs, you can't play albums, the app unlikes your liked songs randomly, and it never suggests anything relevant to your likes. I'm uninstalling after I post this review.
I have used iHeart for several years now to get local radio stations. For the last couple weeks they have been running commercials for like 20 minutes or more. The only way I can get back to the station I was listening to it to force the app to stop and then restart it. I understand that with the free version you will get advtisemts but 20 minutes non stop is frustrating especially when you are driving and can't just grab the phone and start messing with it to stop it.
Your app keeps cutting into live programming with ads or music that isn't even live. I can stop it and or get out of the app and go back in, and then the music starts over. Please, it is about time to make your app keep whatever live programming is going on the radio instead of cutting out of it. Do not ask me to email you guys with more info. This is all the info I have. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this annoying issue.
Well... Although I LOVE this app, especially the 80's music while I'm at work, it constantly shuts down on me which I have to keep rehitting the play button, HOWEVER, I can't say if it's the app, or just spotty WiFi because iheart is the only app I seem to have issues with. I even got a new phone just for music only while at work, and I still have some issues with the music stopping constantly.
This app sucks- we switched from Spotify because iheart radio pays its artists better, but I actually hate this service. There isn't a queue, so if you want to listen a songs in order, you have to manually do it as it comes up. Not only that, but the app is ungodly slow. I can't go into my Playlist with out my phone telling me the app isn't responding. This isn't a slow device issue, because my whole family with many different devices have the same problems.I am going to switch back to Spotify.
General - iHR app has a decent layout that is easy to use and find content. Annoying Ads - The ads are always noticeably louder than the content to which the user is listening. Ads play every time the app crashes, taking time from content. App Crashing - At times, the app crashes for no reason. The app can also crash if another app happens to override/borrow the audio driver. Last month or so, app stops playing for no reason and I close and re-open to find a screen w/o recently played stations.
It should be called iHeartAds. At least once per week I launch the app and an unending loop of ads will play. I have listened for 10 minutes at times, only to realize I'm not hearing ads from my station, but ads directly from the app. Thankfully my station created their own app so I can uninstall this one. Ridiculous!
I think iHeartRadio is a great app with one major drawback. Every few days, the only podcast in my followed podcast list will be the last one I listened to. All others will be gone. I have to search for each one again, go to the podcast page, and then it'll appear back on the list. This is a very annoying bug.
Streaming radio - ok, nothing spectacular or mind blowing Podcasts - absolute trash. The fact that I cannot filter out previously played episodes has me scrolling through an entire library to find the episode I was last on. If I switch to listen to radio or another podcast, I lost my spot in the one I was listening to previously. These are simple things to figure out as almost every other podcast player has these abilities. Go elsewhere for podcasts.
I cannot stand the fact that this app isn't able to go directly to the station I choose without playing several ads first...Even if I close out the app and reopen it, the f'n ad restarts too. The radio station already has commercial breaks built in which this app syncs up with every time. Calm down on the income generator and let me listen to the damn station.
This app has no thought put into it. Who has video ads on an app called iHeartRadio? The fact this app still doesn't have a dark mode in 2020 is ridiculous. I have playback issues often. But this is the only app that has a radio show that I listen to if there was another option I would use it. Edit: They did finally add a dark mode but everything else is still true, except the radio show I listen to is on Spotify so I can dump this terrible app and never look back.
The app is excellent! I listen from Mission, Tx. Used to listen all the time when I lived in Pflugerville. The app was perfect, but lately the apps and dead air is getting very boring. It cuts off the radio station I listen to. Please fix this issue.
Ever since I left Spotify, I have been looking for another music service and welcome the free trials. It is a good way to see if I want to subscribe. In the others I have tried, cancelling was easy. Iheart is the first one that wouldn't work when trying to do it through the site (reminding me that until I cancel, I would be charged), then forced me to send an e-mail to thier support. They gave me a number and would let me know when I would be able to cancel. I am still waiting for a response.
Ads are intrusive-you have to watch an ad or click on an ad upon opening the app before you can even access your stations. App is also horrible for podcasts-it will not play the podcasts in order of episodes, and I have to often go back into the app to play the next episode even when it is queued up.
I love this app for finding new music to add to my playlists. It's a really good app, however, there are a two bugs 1. Sometimes the option to add to my playlist or like a song just stops working for no reason. 2. The app sometimes stops telling me the name of songs. I try restarting the app and pausing and resuming the song to fix the issue but it doesn't work.
