IMDb Movies & TV

Becoming pretty much unusable. Not sure if the developers don't know how to fix the bugs or just can't be asked. It's slow, it often freezes/crashes, and that annoying "Inconceivable!" page is displayed with tiresome regularity when I search for information...so not particularly "Inconceivable!" at all. The speed, reliability and ergonomics of this app need to be improved.

Good app in general, but it keeps crashing. The longer you use it the slower it responds, until it freezes and times out. You then need to restart the app. This normally happens after rating multiple movies one after the other. Seems like it keeps all the previous pages in memory and then crashes due to running out of resources.

Update: When the app sends me notifications of movies or shows I may be interested in I will click that notification and it doesn't do anything. It doesn't take me to the IMDb app and let me see the movie or show it mentioned. I think that needs fixed because what if I wanted to watch the trailer of it? Great app! I love it when it tells me new movies that are coming soon. 5/20/21

One of my favourite apps, used daily. However, there's currently a very frustrating glitch where trailers go dark and stop playing after a few seconds in landscape mode. I can't watch a full trailer in IMDB at present. I hope this will be fixed soon, it's been the case for a month or two.

Absolutely infuriating to use. There's lists, but you can't mark an entry was to watch or rate it without going back to the main screen and searching for the damn movie!! And then i have to go back to the list to continue. What kind of idiot made this interface???? This app can be made at least a bit useful if someone with half a drain cell designed it.

It has been unusable lately and needs to be built up from scratch at this point because of of how old the base of the app appears to be. Constant freezes, take about 3 seconds on average to respond to any input. It is embarrassing how big IMDb is and how much time this app has been on the play store yet still instead of being polished to the core at this point, it is quite the opposite.

I previously rated 5 stars, but now I really have to give 3 stars. The app has, for some reason, become very slow. It takes too long for search results to show up, takes too long for the media such as posters to load, and sometimes the the gallery mode above each movie or show page freezes. And the movie recommendations aren't really well-chosen for your taste of movies; I mean they're fine, but could be better.

Ever since the April 7th update, I've had many issues with needing/wanting to "report" or "edit" different items (plot summaries, trivia, etc.). Example: I just tried to report a duplicate plot summary, but after tapping the "report" option, I got a white screen. This keeps happening—my entire screen becomes white, and the page never loads—if I still want to continue, I have to do so from the website and not through the app.

Slow and freezes. If I am on my browser and try go to IMDB from there it forces me to use the app, I don't want to be kicked out of Chrome. A few times I have tried editing my review, however, my keyboard blocks half of the review and you can't scroll up to see the the text being blocked, making editing very difficult. Search tab in the navigation menu does not function correctly. I prefer just using it on my browser, the app lags often and drains my battery. I will be uninstalling.

This app is getting more and more unusable. The search bar is non functional; I start searching something and whatever I'm looking for can show up as I'm typing it out, but if I search the full name the result disappears and is replaced by something irrelevant. The load times are abysmal. And now the scrolling is super stuttery. Constant crashes. As well as long load times for videos as well as lagging mid way through. 2 Star as this doesn't happen at the time but it is happening more frequently

I've become a fan due to the fact that I have difficulty locating the movies I want to see on other apps. This particular app gives me the freedom to find things that seems not to be located otherwise. Keep up the good work. My only complaint subtitles and advertising and hopefully someday realizing that it makes it hard to understand if you don't know the language so please help me make sure the subtitles are in the language preferred

This app used to be awesome. Then somewhere down the line they completely redesigned the front page, making it almost impossible to find what movies are currently in theaters. Then recently, the algorithm that recommends movies and their sequels has been completely ruined. I'll look up a title and the movies in the "followed by" or "follows" section will be completely irrelevant. It's actually made me use the app way less, knowing I won't get accurate information.

I love IMDb as a resource; I use it all the time. This app, however, is completely unusable to me. It freezes every single time I open it. Rarely can I ever even get far enough to type a search term and rarer still are the times I can actually get to that search's page without a message popping up to say the app isn't responding.

Used to be a 5 star app, but ever since the redesign, it became slow, sluggish and unreliable. Since the most recent update it no longer opens at all. I've tried clearing data and cache as well as reinstalling. Nothing works. A shame, as it used to be excellent. Finally uninstalling for good. Will view the site on chrome. Update: cannot view on chrome due to oversized, ironic ad for app I can't use. Slow clap.

A great way to let you know what you're in for (viewing wise, that is). Plenty of content covering old & new series & films. I personally like the random trivia accompanying much of what's here. Is it perfect? No, but show me one app that is. It's a comprehensive & entertaining trawl through all things visual. Enjoy!

It's very good for what it is. It took me a long time to be able to find actual complete movies and TV shows on here. Complicated. But clips and actor, cast, producer, director, & history backgrounds are wonderful! Also other related movies and TV shows function is very cool, too.

Lacks functionality of the web site. Top 250 hard to find. The search bar and the ad bars are meant to be mistaken. If you're browsing through rows of movies and you select one to view and go back it takes you to a reset home page. Edit +2 when I double click the search icon the cursor immediately goes to the search box. Bravo for that.

I use IMDB all the time, quite often while streaming a TV episode or a movie. I do see a few examples of information in the data base being incomplete or missing and I sometimes see examples of profile pictures which should have been much better for an actor or director or producer etc. Otherwise I say that IMDB is a truly fantastic source of information. I have noticed the app freezing up more recently.

Why are videos not playing in full screen anymore, I can see a black boarder around the top showing the time and signal plus the phone buttons down the side, and when you tap on the video another box pops up down the side, video's are unwatchable now since the last update also its very unresponsive when clicking on a video, also when you flip your phone sideways for full screen mode the video cuts off and then you have to restart it, this was a good app for watching trailers better on YouTube.

The new update takes away an important feature. While watching a trailer, the screen will not time out, making you constantly touch the screen and then you have to touch it again to get everything else off the screen just so you can see the trailer. Obviously, not a detrimental problem, but still unfavorable.

I love this app but it constantly won't work on average you have to reload 5-6 times to get it to work. It's the ads they don't load properly so the app doesn't work. It's so unbelievably frustrating. This app has been going down hill for a while. Seriously they need to overhaul it to get the bugs out.

I hate the latest updates. I can't watch a trailer or other videos without pain. When I click on the video I side links and descriptions takes half of the screen. To clear it I have to avoid touch screen. If I avoid touch the screen the phone's screen will time off. If I keep my finger on the screen, it will Swap to the next video which will force me to watch more ads to get back to my video. Please fix this crab.

PIP player is very broken!! gets stuck on screen when I didn't even active it,& refuses to close!! Even when not in pip mode stupid menu takes up half the screen when I try to watch full screen in landscape mode! Even when the menu goes away (cause have to wait for it to go away, miss part of the trailer, & can't manually close it) the video's tiny & doesn't fill the screen. Doesn't matter if you offer good services, if the app & site always major broken constantly! NOT BROKEN = DON'T FIX!!!

For a few weeks now, I've been having problems with the IMDb site. It is unresponsive quite a lot of the time, and you just can't do anything. I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 tablet. The Amazon Prime info is always outdated eg.. the prices are always wrong, on your site. Also when you click on Amazon Prime, you don't get to see the page, or the trailer any more. It goes straight into the movie, which is rather annoying, as I only want to see a trailer, or add a movie to my Amazon account.

Sluggish and slow at best of times this app is not well optimised for even midrange devices and there is a lot functionally missings vs the browser experience. Top it off with a media player that can't resume and wont stop your device from sleeping mid play and you have an experience that leaves a lot to be desired. 3 stars is generous, tell your Devs to pull their fingers out, it's 2022.

IMDB is like old faithful, although the old school site was the best version the app is still pretty good. I took 1 star away for the increased crashing, how the newer messy homepage makes the news harder to find (bring back the old layout where news was on the bottom bar) and how you have to unclick "Released" when you look at someone filmography! Don't mess with the features most users click on this app for.
