About 2 years ago, I fell into the Instagram trap. I knew I'd become dependent of an endless stream of more or less useless content, but alas I got used to it. I must say that the app is great for communicating with your friends though, and the discover page worked pretty well, until the latest update. My complaints are: it's more difficult to add posts to a collection, can't see the names of the people tagged on photos, posts on discover page mostly uninteresting to me. Hope you understand :)

The last update is terrible, scrolling is annoying, there's no translation on posts anymore, it's hard to read because of the colors behind the text, can't access the comments on some posts because the post itself is taking to much of the screen and it won't let me go lower, stop this and go back to the way it used to be. And also the algorithm is as still bad as it was.

the last update is horrible. not only is it hard for many people to read the captions because of the colors (it used to be black on white, now there are colorful borders according to the posts in one's feed) but it is also really weird and not practical at all. It used to be better

Recently been having issues (not being able to click on any type of link throughout the platform, loosing sticker options, upload of video and/or reels bugging and glitching). These seem to be somehow fixing itself over time, but it is frustrating. I've tried everything from clearing cache, reinstalling. I have completely given up on any sort of response/reply/indication from support because it never seems to go anywhere. Most apps, you'll get some sort of reply (whether by a bot or a human).

Since a few weeks, I've only been able to see reels in my feed, and that's really disappointing, that's not ,hat I'm looking for. If I go on Instagram it's to see pictures and maybe some videos from times to times, not some annoying tiktoks all day... I also don't like the suggested accounts to appear in my feed, this is not Facebook, if I want to discover new accounts, I use the discover tab (it's it's function after all). My feed is what I use to follow choosen people.

I absolutely love Instagram but the app doesn't work properly. It's really glitchy. When I put excellent quality pictures on my story, it ruins the quality and blurs them. When I try to upload to my page, it will say there was a problem uploading the photos/videos and that this has been reported to Instagram and yet the problem never gets fixed. It never lets you edit pictures to fit them in to a frame. Whenever I open the app, sometimes it cuts out and goes off. Please fix this. Thanks.

Please fix the text bug in reels! I cannot publish directly from ig reels: I need to export the video and re-upload it. This is the only way I can publish a reel that doesn't have all the texts on the top of each other... In the preview it looks fine, if I export it and watch it, it looks also fine. But then if I press "share"... it shares a completely messed up version. Which of course I immediately delete, which causes low engagement in republished reel. 💔 Please fix this! 💔 Thank you 🙏🏽

This new update is a complete miss. I cannot regulate audio on a story. If I'm viewing a story it stays silent; physically changing my phone volume does not work. Moving the "audio mute/ unmute" button from the bottom to the top of a post has just confused everyone being use to one position. As with many other reviewers, I am not a great fan of the new "reel" feel to viewing individual posts. I think the drastic changes were just that: drastic.

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but the complete UI change that came with the last update just isn't good in any way. It makes it difficult to tell when one post ends and another begins, and it makes it impossible to see who's who in a photo with multiple accounts tagged. I think as a side effect, the explore page algorithm as well as the home/recommended page algorithm are completely broken and show the user seemingly random posts, completely unrelated to previous posts. Please roll back.

I used to love this app but it's so glitchy now. Have reported issues and no resolve. Definitely spending a lot less time on the app because it's so frustrating. Also, why it's trying to be tik tok I don't know. I'm not on Instagram because I want to watch many meaningless videos. I want to see photos and captions and make connections with people of similar interest. If it wants to add short videos that's fine but their is WAY too much emphasis on it and it simply doesn't work that well.

I have been having a bug for the past month. When I try to open the posts that people send me on DM, the app takes me to the homepage instead of the post. It's really frustrating. I already cleared the data, uninstalled and installed the app again and it's still happening. Please, help me fix this. Once I click the post, whether is a picture or a video, it takes me back to the homepage, so I cannot se what people send me. Thank you!

I used to not have any issues with how well the app worked however for the last month or so I've found making reels to be a chore. The videos freeze, my app often closes in the middle of me making reels (it's a good thing they now automatically save those as drafts but it's still very frustrating), and once my drafts were completely gone for a whole day. I've updated the app twice since this started happening and it hasn't changed anything.

Videos freezed when I double tap them and sometimes, they freeze for the tiniest scroll. Reels and similar stuff are annoying because I cannot seek back and forth. My phone's screen is pretty long and when I am trying to enjoy an image, the video below it starts playing. When I am scrolling through videos (with muted sounds) and my music player is playing something, I can hear Instagram pausing the music for a very short time and it is super annoying. And a lot more, get it together Facebook.

Don't fix something that is not broken. The latest update was a complete disappointment. Photos look like frozen reels and it makes it seem incredibly old and outdated since it turns the once smooth and visually clean scrolling into something mechanical and visually disturbing. You can't stop videos and captions merge into pictures. It's a complete disaster and it really ruined the app, in my opinion.

Another awful update with unnecessary changes that don't add anything to the experience. Also, suddenly reels are being pushed to the top of the feed and it seems people now make everything (that would have been better as a regular post or story) into low quality reels just for a chance to be seen!? Nothing against reels, but we already have a tab for those. I'd still like to see photos people post.

New feed layout is broken. Sometimes the share button and captions are out of the screen. I also can't tell most of the times if it's a reel or not so I just end up waiting over a picture. When I click on friend shared posts they revert to the previous layout which is much better but it doesn't show if the post has multiple pictures and I just find everything about the new layout very inconsistent. Hope the team reads the other similar reviews and makes the decision to rollback.

Sometimes saving Reels is ridiculously tedious, but it fixes itself eventually. Edit (5/23/22): I've noticed the videos & reels stop entirely when you scroll slightly past them and try to stop and watch. It won't even let me "full screen" which gets annoying because I scroll past and go back for it to reset itself, sometimes it'll reset and other times it'll stay stuck on that paused frame which gets VERY ANNOYING when I want to watch a video. Thought it was my wi-fi, but I was wrong about that

Notification settings keep changing automatically for those I'm following. No matter how many times I cjange it within a week it reverts back. Shouldn't have this problem in this day and age. Translation rarely works and only on the original post, nothing for comments which is pathetic. Sounds and videos don't always play/work. Photo's sometimes appear blank and need to restart the app a few times before it works. Supprt never replied to any of my issues.

The last change to the feed layout makes the app even less appealing than before. The picture backgrounds are unnecessary, text is frequently illegible when superimposed on the post, translation function has seemingly disappeared and not seeing comments and likes immediately isn't great either. Not to speak of the fact that it's now impossible to smoothly scroll through the feed and quickly skip past uninteresting posts! Not sure what they were thinking but they're really ruining the app!!

I'm pretty annoyed. I post a reel, but for some reason I get a random portion of the video showing in my drafts. Then when I delete that from my drafts, it deletes the whole video I just posted. Captions freeze on the screen. Nothing works really. If I wasn't an account manager I wouldn't even be on the app.

I am terribly disappointed with the current update, which made the home feed really unorganized and messy. Not that it is ugly (in my perspective), it is also very crowded and makes it very difficult for me to scroll through. With the new update its also very hard to read the description with all the colors of the reel/picture behind, and takes all the enjoyment from visiting this app.

New update is awful. The full screen mode is difficult to use, hard to see the options such as comments, sharing etc as it gets cut off the screen. Too many videos instead of showing photos. It is not user friendly and so difficult on the user to see/interact with now. Change it back.

The latest update is the worst yet and seems to be trying to appeal to Tiktok users by turning Instagram into a poor imitation. It is now horrible to navigate and even worse to look at, the focus shifting more towards obnoxious video content that automatically plays, rather than pictures, which is the only thing Instagram had going for it. I won't be using this claustrophobic mess of an app unless they change things.

I use Instagram every day for work. I love the app, it's just everything and very complete in comparison to other platforms. However, and I'm not sure if it's because I switch from apple to Android, I have been finding a lot of difficulties I didn't have before. Drafts disappearing, reels where the captions overlap when I edited it so they didn't, errors when I cut up my video directly on the reels editor, the list of bugs go on. I won't stop using it, but these things need to be fixed ASAP

Big Insta fan here. It's ready glitchy at the moment and I wondered if I don't have the latest version. But I'm all up to date. Reels freeze, the sound can play but not the video. Just a general scroll doesn't even work properly either. Is it trying to do too much at once?! I miss using it with no problems so please fix fix fix! Updating my review a few days later - now when I'm scrolling, the sound of the next reel starts playing when I'm reading the text of the reel before. It's annoying.
