"Phone – Uses one or more of: phone, call log."The app allows users to make phone calls to the IRS or VITA/TCE locations.
"Photos/Media/Files – Uses one or more of: files on the device, such as images, videos, or audio; the device’s external storage."The Free Tax Help mapping feature uses these permissions to save map images and data to your phone's storage. This means that your phone won't need to download the same map data every time.

The app doesn't even function. There is always an error with my information ,when the information is actually valid. Why even waste your time with this junk. In other words, pulling out all of your hair and lighting yourself on fire would yeild shockingly better results while trying to figure out your refund date. Utterly useless in all senses of the word.
It's asking for refund amount? The federal refund amount the state refund amount both combined? But that's my problem my direct deposit wasn't the amount it should have been so I've tried all the above numbers and I can't get in what do I do?!?!
Doesn't Work. I still have not received my federal return and I filled in March. I get the same error as everyone else "Information does not match". There is no way to check the status. This is the longest I've ever had to wait. Nobody is doing anything to fix this. Hate this 😐
It's weird that it either gets 1 star or 5, either works perfect or doesn't work at all... I ofcourse am on the doesn't work at all side. I put all of my info in correctly and it's saying the information does not match, and no I'm not putting in the combined amount, just my federal return. Super annoying to just be sitting around waiting for my return not knowing where or if it's even on the way
All my information is corrected, when I was trying to sign on with my SSN, and the correct amount of my tax refund, but they say it's not, and is invalid that i got to reenter it, which I clearly think they needed to fix there app, I'm trying to see my 2021 tax refund status.
Works fine for me. I wonder if anyone trying to input their information is combining both their federal and state? They just want your federal. Just a thought. I just barely filed and already my info is showing. I don't doubt others are having difficulties. Both the app and website are notorious for having problems. It's to be expected when you have such an enormous database and millions of people filing all at once.
The first week after filing, it showed 1 out of 3 bars highlighted in blue for "returns accepted" but the other day, it stopped even displaying the bars that show the status of the refund. What's going on here, and why can't I see the progress of my refund now? The info provided is vague and the links to click for more info don't seem to pertain to my situation. Now I'm completely in the dark and the app isn't doing what I got it for at all. Overall, it's a great app though.
Unable to log in. All of a sudden I'm getting the "information doesn't match " error. I've been entering the same info that has worked for the last 3 weeks now all of a sudden its not recognizing it. Makes no sense at all
after over an hour on hold i got to talk to someone. the "information does not match error" also applies to them not having a return on file, they are so far behind that i sent mine in february and they still dont have it on record months later - last years return took 8 months. still, the app is useless to me since by the time it shows on there i should have it in my bank. 1 star for the irs in general, hire more people.
My parents filed on the 23rd and I hadn't had any issues checking the status of our refund until tonight. It keeps telling me my info doesn't match when I know it does. I can't even use the website either bc it's telling me that my internet doesn't have access to the site when I hadn't been having any issues til then. Please fix this!
The status is just written as a standard format, this app is pretty familiar it's similar to all the other I. R. S. apps. These apps are available to the public just to shut us up and diverting us far far away from them, (I. R. S). We are just peons they don't want to deal with us unless we owe money of course, then they are ALL EARS! Same situation when you call the number you choose is just taking you further out and at the end they just disconnect your call.
Doesn't work even if you type in your correct tax refund amount shown in TurboTax. It shows it's a mismatch of info when it's clearly isn't. They need to urgently to update this and coordinate it with TurboTax.
The app works great, easy to read. If you have troubles accessing the info it's probably on your end. Make sure you're only entering your federal tax back, not your state. When I put in all my info it told me clearly what my status was and when my refund was expected to be transferred to me.
It's terrible! I've tried for the last several days and yet it still says my info don't match. I've put in my federal amount didn't work. I than put in both my federal and state amount. Still didn't work. Constantly getting info don't match. It's rather annoying 🙄 😒
That app is absolutely useless... doesn't provide ANY useful info. It says the exact same thing everytime I check. It has been almost two months since I e-filed and nothing has happened, the app doesn't provide any info why and there isn't any contact info that will actually help. The i.r.s. is as useless as the government it works for...
Exactly as describes! Works perfectly! it's people with impatience that have issues. This last year my refund was 8 months late. The app kept me up to date and I waited patiently. Thankful for the app over calling in office, which they didn't have enough trained employees last year. Glad to see they're still up and running.
It doesn't tell me anything. Pretty worthless. I've been waiting 9 months for my refund. The first two months it told me that I didn't enter the information correctly. The last 7 months have been your return is being processed. Terrible. Now it says there is planned maintenance until january 3rd. I wish the irs would stop sending out stimulus payments and credits and start doing what they are supposed to be doing which is process tax returns.
Perfect if you can wait impatiently. Most perders can't wait but they can wait if you give them a small count down and turn it in to a game.. example Monopoly, you get 200 hundered at the finish of every round which updated the gamer and has a better leading outcome. Could help the mind, body and spirit to comply to help the govermemt out and make them more fun.
It keeps telling me the same thing over and over again for the last 3 years. I've been trying to get my return from 2019 and on. Haven't received any of the stimuluses. I've tried even calling like 10 times and spoke to like five different agents in the past 3 years. I've sent them all the items they requested and ask for and even my rent return info. I've even tried going to talk to someone at the Duluth office and they didn't solve anything either. This is BS.
UPDATE NEEDED ASAP!!!! I have been trying to get on since Feb 14, 2022 and it CONSTANTLY keeps telling me my information doesn't match. I don't know what's going on, even your actual website is saying to wait 24 hours and it's been almost a week. Everyone tells me to use this app....but really it's becoming the biggest inconvenience yet. Can someone please update this!!!
Works fine for me, use this app every year, you have to make 100% sure the dollar amount of the refund is exactly as it says on your taxes, if you don't do that right it won't work. Update for 2022, filed my taxes, came to app entered information and info shows up "return received" seems to be working fine.
On trying to check 2020 refund status, the app says cannot verify information. Many others are facing the same issue. There's no point of using the app, even the website is showing same information. Looks like the system upgrade before the new year screweeld everything up.
The app had worked fine until they did the "scheduled maintenance" on it. Now, it just says that my information does not match. Reading the comments, everyone else is having the same problem. Nothing was wrong with the app before, so why fix something that wasn't even broke? And now that it is broke, nothing is being done to fix it. I had given it a 5 before, but now it's definitely a 1, which is still too high for this app right now.
Always answer is, "Your information doesn't match". I have checked my information but the answer is the same.
Doesn't give enough detail! Your better off just waiting for your refund to hit your bank! That's how you'll know if you got it or not! By time it says anything on here it's already hit your bank! Unless you're doing the paper method. Otherwise it's a pointless app!
2022 and it still runs perfectly. No updates, no changes, no problems. Other app devs should strive for this level of zen perfection in their apps. Old review: Does what it says and nothing else. Does not run in the background. Does not use data. I've left it installed since 2017 and it has not used data nor run in all that time and it is small. THIS is how simple single purpose apps should work. And stay. Simple. No bloat. No ads.
