So far it's very easy to use & navigate. The simple user interface makes you want to keep trying that phrase or word you just can't seem to get but just keep trying, you'll get it. And the Premium version is not very spendy. 5/5!! 11-25-2021 Edit: Certain phrases I look up don't come up on here. People I know will say something in Spanish or Hindi & I'll look it up and it's something completely different. I'm gonna try a different app. 3/5!!
I purchased this application to access all the features, but unfortunately in the so called PRO version there are still many languages which doesn't support speech to text, and text to speech feature. In the Voice conversation feature, you have to type for Urdu language because speech to text is not available. Are you kidding me, I don't understand why I purchased this application.
I downloaded the app while visiting Spain, I tried to use it on one menu and it was completely useless. I forgot about it and a week later got a mail to say my trial period was over and a €40 annual fee had been deducted. I contact Google Play and they rejected my request for a refund. Regardless of the experience with the charge, the app is poor and there are far superior options. Avoid
I was immediately met with the Seven Trial with no possibility of moving forward unless I signed up to pay $39.99 a year after said trial. I do not do this kind of tactic, which I refer to "Bait, Switch, and Charge." Maybe I am wrong. However, I remember using a solid "always free" voice/text translator on my iPhone several years ago with numerous languages while I accessed "again free" when visiting Puerto Rico. I downloaded this app, thinking I needed a translator program, never even opened it. The next day or so, I was charged $50 for it and no way to cancel it, or get a refund. This is NOT just Google doing this! There is only one way to describe how this app bills...SCAM. The few that have gotten it and got it to work for free are lucky.
Started downloading on my phone mysteriously as I never requested it, couldn't stop the download couldn't turn it off and then got charged $50, and email saying it was a yearly fee. I may have been hacked I'm not sure but am going through the process of deleting it and my google account
The forced credit card for a trial is a major red flag. Uninstalling and suggest others avoid it. Even if legit, it's incredibly bad business practise forcing payment during a trial period
I'm sure this app is useful to someone who wants an all-in-one translator, but in my case, there are options that provide similar services without having to pay or subscribe. Not worth it to me. Edit for clarification: Although the app is free, the more useful features like the photo translator, which I originally needed, require an in-app purchase. The base service is essentially Google Translate in app form. Nothing special there. Thanks.
Only needed this to translate a Chinese voicemail (was curious if it was spam or a wrong number). Didn't like that I had to sign up for a free trial just for that, mostly because I now have to cancel to prevent from being billed monthly. Seems to work okay (can't say how accurate it was, but seemed mediocre), when it worked, but it took many tries. Part of the problem seemed to be difficulty hearing from a speaker, but also if the correct Chinese dialect wasn't chosen, instead of hinting at that, it just acted like it didn't hear anything. As for the subscription, if this is something you would use on an infrequent basis, it would be much better to have a prepaid option to allow x number of translations per amount paid.
Just an annoying advertising app constantly asking you to sign up you don't even get to look around the app before it starts getting desperately pushy, it has zero unique functionality in the free version, so no way to preview the services they expect you to pay for. There is a free trial period you can sign up for if you feel like giving them even more data for free.
It was really good, I just don't use it nearly enough to pay a staggering 39.99 a month for it. If you need a translator that takes pictures and use it often, I totally recommend this app! I'm sorry I don't have more use for it actually. It was really fast...I took the picture of the text, waited about 25 seconds or less, then it was done! Great job guys.... let me know if it gets cheaper at some point! Otherwise I have to go with A FREE Google translate.... 😞
Hello! The app was pretty incredible, but I didn't end up needing it as bad. I'm certain that I cancelled my subscription a bit back, but the money still got taken from my account?? Your support page is down, which is really what got the review this far down. I've been looking everywhere for a solution or an explanation, but there is no information on anything anywhere. EDIT: I got it fixed, the support page is apparently down, but they've got a very fast email response. Thank you!
I would rate this higher if it gave phonetic pronunciation under the translations. I was trying to use this in japan to look how to say various things, but most of the translation was in kanji. I had to look up the kanji in a different app to figure out how it was pronounced. I don't want to hold up my phone for someone to read every time I want to ask something. Otherwise the translations seemed generally good. There were a few times that I was trying to ask a question but the app translated it as a statement instead. Whoever you're showing it to would probably understand, though.
Purchased this app in 2016 for $10. Now I'm being forced to pay again in order to continue using the app. I purchased it solely for the conversational mode, which worked quite well. Now, despite having spent money for it, those features were taken away in favor of paying a monthly fee. Yes the translations are accurate, but I'm miffed that I don't get permanent access to a feature I already paid for, since at the time it was advertised as a one time payment for all the pro features.
I have been using this translator app since the beginning of 2016 when I moved to China. However, in the last few weeks the translations have been wholly incorrect and as a result I can no longer rely on iTranslate to help me conduct business or go about my daily life abroad. Unfortunately I will be deleting the app and moving to another translation service provider. Very disappointed.
Was happy to pay the £39.99 as a one of payment last year but £39.99 every year is a absolute disgrace, there is no reminder that you are going to be charged, I stopped using the app after 3 months as the free apps were alot better. I have sent an email in but I'm guessing from previous reviews a refund is not going to happen, what an absolute con 🤬
More accurate than google translate. I see why everyone thinks there's no free trial. You hit "start free trial" button and it pops up to pay for 1 year subscription. You have to hit X on top right instead of "start free trial" button, it's like in a game ad with "try again" button that only take you to store. Anywho, I'm stuck overseas so this helps...can't afford to get pro subscription though as I'm not able to make money here, so I'm forced to type and show text only.
Terrible to use. Not user friendly at all. Downloaded and deleted in 1 hour. Should be much easier to use than it is.

Translations are great but I am having issues with payment receipts. I need to know how to contact someone to receive the invoices for my payments.

I had this App several years ago, it worked good for my purpose. I paid 15 euro for the App, now you are asking 4.99 a month. Sorry, I don't need your app that bad. I agree with the other reviews as well about providing your payment information before trying the free version of which does not work very well as the Pro-Version, and why would anyone want to pay 4.99 a month before they can even try the version they actually want. I would be willing to pay a one time life time fee......
I remember that I downloaded this trial version a year ago. Tried and used it once and never used it again, then switched to other platform(iOS). Now a year later after that, i just noticed the other day I had a google purchase on my bank statement that I don't remember. Upon checking my google Order History I was surprised that this apphole was kept on charging me every month for a whole lot year even though i'm not using it. Well it's my fault for not checking my bank statement and noticed those charges late. Damn if I could get a refund that would be great. If this app ask for your credit details don't give it, or cancel the subscription before they charge you. This app is not like the other apps that uninstalling will automatically unsubscribe you.
This app does what I need it to. Lots of languages and the live translating through the camera works much more consistently than I expected. But I have only used it to translate Spanish and English. My two star is because I cannot believe that the only option for pro is to pay a yearly subscription! Not worth 40 dollars, not to me. Take my money, I shall find endeavor to find a better alternative over the next year.
This app is my go to translator. I have tried the free trial and the camera lens to scan text is pretty cool. I had some difficulties and their customer service was very helpful and pleasant. Besides that, the app is very easy to use. I would recommend this even just to have on your phone for a quick translate. If you travel I would really recommend this app.
I read, write and speak both fluent English and Spanish.This app works great. Didn't encounter any problems, other than it being slow but that's on my end. I have a cheap Android phone that I push to its full potential with many other apps. It was an easy install. The translation is quite impressive. Great job! Thanks guys!

I like the app but translations are very inaccurate. Sometimes only half the content get translated and sometimes the translation completely skip one sentence in the middle of a text. Over half of the times the translation is wrong in there ways. I wanted to buy the pro app but since I can not rely on any translations from this it is not worth it. Back to using Google translate
For translating a voice: I tested it with my grandma who speaks French. It was able to pick up what she said once, but it didn't translate. When she tried again (twice) it couldn't understand her. I'm not sure about the other features but the voice translating feature is a miss.
