KHON2 - Honolulu News, Weather

It is really annoying when you can't turn off notifications. I've tried different ways of turning them off to no avail. You can't even select what notifications you get. Plus when I tried the email listed under developer, it was blocked.

I don't like that most news alerts directs you to a live news video page. You have to press back and look thru to see if text version is available(not always the case). Not very convenient when you're on your phone outside.

The app keeps crashing and when it finally loads an article it only loads half of it. I may as well just go to the website. Also, everytime the app crashes, it stays on in the background and I can't close it. I have to go to my settings to kill it. If I dont do that, it eats up my battery like a starving animal.

I don't have the choice to turn off notification!! Very frustrating when your phone goes off all day long because of notifications.

Only gives me about 30sec to a minute before my phone says the app has either stopped working or not responding. It's been this way for a while and everything is up to date. Please, can this be fixed by the developer??

This mobile application is one of the many mobile applications i personally use when trying to stay up-to-date with current events of news and information. It does have an additional wheather mobile application that you could additionally download and use onto your smartdevice. But my personal opinion and usage of both the news and weather application. When utilizing both at the same time it runs smoother a whole lot.

Everything I click on a notification of a new story, the app opens and the article cannot be found. It would be very helpful to link the notification directly to the corresponding article. Also, please get rid of the live stream section when app is opened. Live streaming should be its own section within the app.

Notifications would not turn off even after setting it to off multiple times. Spammed my phone too much thought the entire day for weather, traffic, random stuff. Uninstalled until it gets fixed.

Imho there's too much notifications about nothing, and with the way the notification categories are, it's basically all or nothing when you turn them on or off. Another annoyance is the ads, and the fact that non-local news is often half a day old or older.

Great looking until you use it. only have a few news feed from actual tv broadcast. I usually miss the numerous TV news broadcasts so i try to rely on the app. I have a bunch of notifications from app but i am not able to open app to see it live during broadcast times. when clicking notifications after scheduled time is done it shows when u can use app for live broadcast. unfortunately khon app will b uninstalled.

The mobile app is frustrating...while it does provide popup news notifications on my phone with useful one sentence headlines, these often link to a LIVE VIDEO feed that is often playing a different news story by the time the page loads... Highly recommend including TEXT articles in ALL of the news, so we can get the news story ASAP.

Deleted this app. I did not like how all notifications sent you to watch a video, which took forever to load. I want to read the news. I would have kept it if the video transcripts had been included, which should have been simple to accomplish.

Very disappointed. Push notifications work well, but takes forever to get the story or to open the app. Using a Note 9 and takes forever for app to load. Also app says I have no internet connection and to check my internet connection every time.

Great at giving headlines via notifications. But doesn't take me to the article when I tap the notification. It just takes me to some page that has their broadcasting schedule. I don't care about that.

This is not a good app. Upon receiving a news alert tease you should be able to go get the whole story even if it's brief. Other sites can. Not on KHON2 9.9% of the time. Another "pisseroony" is 30-second commercials you are forced to watch first before discovering a news story that you were just teased with is not available after all.

Need better updates. Many stories are at least, half a day old. And the current one usually doesn't have much info. I enjoy the human interest stories (the feel good stories), activities around the island and healthcare segments.

Upgraded to the new app, thought it was better. But I was wrong!!! The fonts are too small and hard to read, can only change font size when you click on the topics.

Disabled notifications for weather and wake-up-today and they showed up anyway. Also, the front page ad that many people mention is annoying. Will uninstall until the rating for this app goes up.

half the time this appl doesn't work. You tap on it and wait and wait, and wait.

This app is trash.. I don't know how you have the same consistent complaints for over a year now and not fix the issue of directing people to the article they click on. It's not the news or organization... it's the jacked up app.

probably the worst of all the local news apps. just about every other "news article" is an ad. ridiculous! just get the other local news apps and you'll have enough local news to read through.

I love this mobile app for my local news reports along with other news reporting mobile applications but thats honestly because of if one is however delayed in notifying of new reports the next news mobile application does notify me about it one way or another. But it is awesome and keep up the good work on mobile application development.

This app is alright. I Don't like that when you open the push notification it doesn't take you to the story the notification is about most times.

No stars! Upon opening the app, it shows me a "not connected to the internet" screen,,,but I can connect to all other web sites! What's up with that!!!

worst news app of they local Hawaii stations. too many ads imbedded in the news to make it look like a news story. very limited news stories. i guess nothing must be going on in Hawaii. maybe that's why all their top anchors left. once Joe Moore retires, I'm done with khon2.

Gives good updates often but once clicked on the story it does not expand, it cannot be found. Good if all you want is brief quick updates.

Very frustrating to get notifications for live video to see no video. I loaded this app for curated content. The live content is no better than curated content. Should just be a curated content video blog at this point.

Good to know the current brief *headliners* by notifications especially when I'm on the *go* & follow up on TV news when appropriate. The weather & traffic updates add to the *days* convenience! Mahalo....

you used to tell the entire story. Now you've gotten lazy and just give teasers. Don't carry TV with me and I cannot connect with your streaming. I suppose I just need to get another app.
