KSDK 5

Well, I originally downloaded this app so I can send in photo's and videos from my area, but that feature seemed to have disappeared completely. Then the constant notifications are really annoying as well. I only have the Blues and weather selected, yet I'm getting notifications for everything. Otherwise it's a well organized app and works well. For now, I'm going to uninstall this app, till the amount of notifications get fixed; and the 'sending them photos and videos' feature to come back.

Channel 2 sends me more notifictions for breaking news. I have been trying days to enter contest for free fuel. Entry form never pops up. Ch. 5 page setup is so much better than ch. 2

Can we please lose the animated ad banner at the top of the app? I understand the need for ads, but when they are animated and distracting, I find it difficult to actually use the app as intended.

OMG! What have you done to your app??!! I hadn't updated it since I installed it in August 2020 because it was great!! Now, the 10-day forecast, current temp, everything is disabled, so I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and now wish I hadn't bothered. This app is now just useless. Terrible app now. 7/15/21: Your update didn't work. Still crashing. Totally useless. 0 stars. 12/10/21: Deleted and reinstalled update. Crashed on me 3 times trying to get thru one article. Worse than before.-3 stars.

Stale and limited content. Same stories on site for days at a time. Also same stories under multiple banners (i.e trending, national, nation world, etc). Now you have destroyed the stand alone weather app. It was the best. Whoever decided to kill the weather app and leave only what is in the news app obviously doesn't even use it. I just want to see the weather, I don't want to spend 3 minutes just getting to that section only to get what the current weather is. I can open the door and get that.

I installed this app primarily for weather alerts. I modified the notification settings to allow only weather and national news notifications; however, I continue to receive all notifications. I now have notifications turned off. If I continue to receive them, I'll uninstall the app. Twenty plus per day is a bit too much.

I miss the old arch Newschannel 5 logo, badly. Wishing that TEGNA/KSDK would bring the design back for that is not the reason why rating have diminished for the operation. The 5 On Your Side App is very good in issuing notifications. News stories, features, and video display smoothly without technical bug issues. The layout is colorful. 5 On Your Side is a mantra banner. Suggestion: Switch the KSDK's news department's branding back to 'Eyewitness News' just as powerhouse WLS TV Chicago has done.

Please bring back the old KSDK 5 radar and weather app with working hourly and 10 day forecast. This new version is terrible compared to the old version. Glad I didn't uninstall the old app. At least the old app radar still works to show me approaching storms relative to my location with all the useful layers for warnings, hail, and high winds approaching.

Your stand alone weather app was far and beyond better than this. Having to navigateto the weather section is ridiculous. If I wanted to look at the news, I'd download your news app. I can't stand when companies try to improve upon something that already works. Then in the process, completely screwing things up. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT! Stop trying to change things, just to change them. The weather app alone worked so much better and had better features that this new version lacks. Smh

I miss the separate weather app. It had the most useful radar, it was fast to access, and everything was organized in a user friendly way. Combining it into the news app is more clunky and less useful. I really miss that future radar.

If you want to see weather quickly this app is NOT for you!! I loved the old weather app, see your temp and radar quick. This one?? Plan on going through multiple steps just to get to the weather potion. This app is good for someone looking for everything at once. Too bad they got rid of the old app. This one sucks!!!!

I live 250+ miles away. In a very hilly area. The clarity of the streaming has been wonderful. Very Crisp even during a hearty snow storm. The weather is delivered very well. Complete information that's easy to follow. News is reported without being sensationalized.

Terrible as a replacement for the prior weather app. Used to go right to radar, now takes 6 or 7 clicks to get to, plus, (minus?) the map it shows on my Moto E4 running Android 7 is compressed widthwise, all distorted.

When I get notifications of breaking news & tap on the item I am interested in reading about, many times I can't find that item on the app. I find that frustrating.

Even though there are selective notification settings, I am continuing to receive notifications that have tried to disable. I can disable them for the whole app through my phone. But they're either on or off.

This ksdk app is littered with ads and I get way too many notifications even after turning most of them off. It became a burden to use so I just stopped opening the app because I don't want to deal with all that. Uninstalled now and I'll try kmov or another St Louis news app and see how that goes...

We are out of StL a lot so like seeing what is going on but what I don't like is that it takes so long to go through all the logo stuff and actually get to the news articles. Once the news comes up it is accurate and to the point. Still wish it could get through the logo stuff faster. I can drink a whole cup of coffee while waiting.

What was wrong with the old weather app? It worked perfectly, and then it suddenly didn't give me anything other than the radar. I hate this new app. I just wanted the weather not all the news and other bullsh**. I cant even get a live radar for my area anymore. You have more complaints now than ever before. No one likes this app for weather. You should have kept the news and weather separate. Now I have to find a new weather app along with the many others that are leaving you because of this. .

Terrible. Extremely buggy. This app is very slow and will suddenly turn off for no reason. I thought the old app had issues, but it was great in comparison.

I would have installed it, but it wants too much acces to my phone. It has no need to be able to read my Contacts, nor does it need to see what apps I have running on my phone. Its another App farming data from people.

I still enjoy the ky3 app but I'm starting to get this one figured out. Better than the channel 4 for sure. Alerts were a bit late for severe weather and such but at least I got them. Some improvements are necessary but overall a decent news app.

Slow to load. When it first came out it was great and I meant to go back and rate ita 4, but life got busy. Now days is seems to be loaded with so much that I more often than not just close it befor it opens.

I miss the old weather app. It was easy to open and instantly get weather and radar. Now you have to go find everything in the news app. Bad move KSDK. Time to install The Weather Channel App

App is fine. Can't copy things from the articles tho.

App used to be really good. Difficult to navigate now and find useful links like TRAFFIC, but hey, if you need a recipe of the day it's right there. Trash.

Lots of updated news. Weather (for St.Louis wait 5 minutes and it will change) is great but wait I don't like hot,cold,cloudy,snowy,windy all in one day! Enjoy the app it is great! Thanks Scott and the whole weather crew!

I am very disappointed at the loss of the quick, easy access to my local, current, weather radar! I lost most of my interest in this app when I updated to find it gone!

I dont have cable or antenna, this is my fav STL news team. Like that I can still watch news but the commercials in between are about 4x louder than the news feed. It is annoying at 6am.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD WEATHER APP!!! I agree with the other reviews. I used to use the weather app as my go to. Much easier and more accurate than anything else. Now you have to drill down to get to it and it is not nearly as good.

Where is the old weather app? The main KSDK app is terrible, it keeps flipping as ads are inserted in between the stories. Mostly, I want the hourly and 10 day forecasts back. I guess I will have to go look for a different app.
