Lightning Camera

Absolutely amazing app. Made capturing lightning a breeze. Works great for fireworks as well. The only other feature I would like to see is a set and forget mode. Basically, If I want to leave my phone out during a lightning storm, the app takes a quick burst everytime it sense lightning. Then say, an hour later, I can come back and check through my photos. I have missed a few strikes while looking through the previous burst to save pictures. Add that, and this app would be perfect.

The app works great, and I have captured some awesome pictures of lightning. Just discovered the ability to switch cameras, which now lets me use the wide-field camera on my Samsung Note 10. The one downside of this app is that it only does images in 1080p, and with very little bit depth - images are <100 KB in size, and have those color lines that low-res images have. My phone is capable of taking 60 fps in 4k and saving high-bit-depth HDR video; please let the app take advantage of that!

Pretty cool app. Just one feature I'd like to see - control over the picture size/quality. It looks like the pictures are taken as 1920 x 1080. It would be great to be able to capture the full resolution that the camera is capable of, even if it might result in a slower capture rate. The shots captured would be much higher quality.

This is almost exactly the app I want. So I please beg of you to add a number of functionalities. * Start and stop buttons * Auto save images that coincide with custom set brightness values. Plus the ability to save every nth image before and after the auto saved. * general image capture settings would be a bonus. Resolution, shutter, iso... 😂

It's great but I'd like to suggest something. You guys can make the shutter button work like a video. After pressing the shutter button it will keep capturing videos and when lighting shows up it will automatically save the last few seconds from the video to get the perfect lighting effects. Then you can show us to choose which snap we would like to keep. It will be much easier I guess.

Have trouble with the app at times especially after several minutes of running it in use. 3 stars because I'm really bummed out that I no longer have the ability to zoom in on my field of view, and I KNOW I could before. 5 stars if you can please re-add this function. I'm respectfully and sincerely asking... Please. Other than that. Thank you for making a one of a kind awesome app. If I had it sooner I'd have the most incredible lightning bolts captured. Missed 2 great seasons before installing

This is the very BEST stop-action app camera on the internet, hands down. This super crisp and clear fast shutter camera is designed different than all other fast cameras available. Lighting Camera is simply the best - the fastest - with the clearest photographs for you the photographer - everytime. Sports, flying objects, even flowing water, is no match for your new lighting camera app from the play store. Have fun shooting everything you can think of even ghosts are captured on film with it.

I really like the app but for some reason i got much better images with my Samsung s4 than with the s7. more often on the s7 half of the picture is over exposed and the other half still dark. anything you can improve? So in the meantime I am on the s10e but still the same issues prevail. Almost impossible to get a good shot. What worked like a charm on the s4 does not anymore. Hence dropping the rating

THIS IS AMAZING! At first this wasn't what I was looking for, but it turned out to be very good. You can actually take pictures of stuff that happened in the past. Like for real. Just one request to developers, please allow higher resolution for photos and allow the use of multiple cameras. I can switch between front and rear but, can't change between wide and ultra wide on my phone. All in all thanks for this!

Finally an app that actually works for lightning shots is available for android. The app for iPhone was great but I didn't want to keep using an iPhone just for that anymore, this isn't the same as that one but overall it's just as good. I wish there was a zoom feature tho, that would make it the best

This camera is awesome I live in the monsoon region in southern Arizona and I use this app everyday. The settings are a little bit tough to get used to but once you do it's automatic I like to slide the slider all the way to the right that way gives you about 4 seconds beforehand and that's perfect

nice little app exposure can be a problem sometimes with lightning but, you can also use for fun. Do a superman into a swimming pool or jump in the air with a witches broom, lean back as if holding an invisible rope next to a swimming pool for some crazy angles.

Great app that allowed me to take some nice lightning photos. The photos are not very high resolution (2.1 MP) but the fact that it allowed me to get some photos is impressive. I hope there's a future version with a high resolution option

Works beautifully. Would love a few more manual controls to tweak the images captured (ie, manual focus). I installed this because we had a little light show and this was the first app I found that would capture it. Does a good job of that.

This app is now worthless on my Note 9 because the app sets the ISO of the main camera too high (maybe a camera update could also be a possibility), resulting in a pixelated mess. Somehow, the front facing camera does not have any issue but I won't even bother with capturing lightning using the front facing camera. For the next update, just add an ISO control option on all the cameras that the app detects on your phone.

I was extremely doubtful that this app would be worth jack, but to my surprise, it works. It would be perfect of it shot in RAW mode or, at least, saved photos in higher quality instead of a jepg that has super compressed.

Great app very user friendly I love the newest features last updated it's going to be much easier for a tripod when taking pictures thumbs up to lightning camera...one last thing .if only you could have a automatic self taking a picture to just point and when the flash comes it will trigger .....mmmm would there be such a thing.....

Works pretty good. S8 Active. Would like a bit more camera control. Maybe an autosave every few secs. Some of us aren't really worried about space on phones. Option to direct where to save local/card is needed.

I love this app. I've been able to capture many great shots that I'd never have been able to capture otherwise. My only suggestion is that I would really like to have the ability to capture multiple bursts before having to review and choose which photos to save.

Great app! Would be perfect if it had the ability to trigger using the headset button, just like the regular camera. That would make really easy to trigger without touching the screen.

Perfect. I tried it 10 minute ago and I took some picture that I could only dream about with ordinary camera. From my point of view it's perfect I guess there is much more better way to capture lightning but for now This is my number one..

Its cool but... :D its always some but :D My cam can record 960 fps, 240 or 120, that would be cool if i leave phone "on record" and app can save lighting in that fps ... so that would be pretty amazing slow mo lighting clip. Whats more i think app is doing a bit "uglier" phootos than stock app. 4 stars and i hope there will be update or smt like that . Good Job !

Best camera app for fireworks and lightning! I don't know if there are other camera apps or settings that will do what this one does but I have yet to find them. And no ads make it perfect. I always use this app at least once a year for the 4th of July. Thanks!

This is the best camera app I ever used for taking pics of lightning and so easy to use. I am a stormchaser and I take pics of thunderstorms, lightning, wind effects and damage, hail, and tornadoes. I use this app all the time! Also excellet for taking other hard to get pics like those of fluttering butterflies!

I only want 1 phot with fast shutter and clear. This is 10, I wish there is option for that too.. It's does not really bother because it does not save to my device. Thanks for the app and keep updating to make better😂😂😂😂 no video option

It's pretty damn good.. it could use some extra fitures like when u click on a picture an want to zoom in u can't .but all in all I do think it's great.

There is no chance to take second or third pictures frame, unless i go first to the taken pictures menu,and then go back to shooting camera again,or I have to close and reopen the app for the next shooting frame.Why the app starting shooting automatically right now when it is been opened?

I absolutely love love this app. I usually dont take time to write reviews but I have gotten some of the best pictures of lightning it's very easy to use and if you love thunderstorms with a great light show then this is the app. To show off some fantastic pictures...and if I could I'd give them 10 stars definitely recomend

This app is amazing. I've tried for years to capture lighting with very little success. 5 minutes after installing this app I've equalled years of lightning photographs. Thanks soo much.
