Lightning QRcode Scanner

when one scans a code, just to see the url but doesn't follow the link and then locks the screen, with the app still in foreground, the app keeps running at full steam (phone heats up and battery drains). edit: further regression. on phones that don't have separate buttons outside the screen, the app prevents rendering of the 'home screen', 'back', 'switch app' buttons, so once i scan© a code, i can't go to another app and paste it there. only clicking the advertisement gets you out.

There's this. And there's one called QR scanner. And they each have an install icon for the other on the top. Which confuses and worries me. Works well. And as it says, doesn't grant itself unneeded permissions. Genuinely do think it's a good app that does what it should.

Was 5 star until you put that ad where the open button was. Uninstalling, good luck.

Okay so there are ads that popup when you go to close the app. Would I call it, as Google puts it, "disruptive?" Probably not. It's more of a nuisance than it is disruptive. The banner ads on the bottom aren't even that bad. I mean, it's a free app. The developer has to pay the bills somehow. I'd totally buy an ad free version if such a thing existed. Ads aside, this app is great! What really makes me rate it five stars is the fact that I can export my history in a CSV file. We use QR codes in the IT department to label everything and on occasion we must take inventory of what is where. With this feature it makes getting the data that much quicker! Simply scan everything there is, export the data and let the computer do the rest. Huge timesaver right there. My biggest wish for this app is a paid version; a simple a way to remove the ads. I'd pay USD $2-$3 for this. Add in the ability to scan barcodes of all sorts and I'd go as far as USD $5.

A+. I've installed this on at least one previous phone as well as this phone. I test many similar apps, and this reader is always the most impressive. Allows to product search, code search, save, share and more in app. Ads on bottom are a bit more intrusive now than they once were (slightly larger, noisier) but DEF not a deal-breaker. Non-issue. Super small footprint, powerful/versatile, quick, highly accurate, and asks no intrusive permissions. I continue to be impressed, great job!

Love the scanner, easy to use.

I have tried about 6 other QR scanner apps and so far this is the only one that works without unexpected errors and doesnt have ads every second. There are small ads on the bottom but you are still able to use the app perfectly fine and it scans pretty fast. Now I am basing this off all the free version apps.

WARNING!!! THIS app will download MoPub app which is a PUA (potentially unwanted application) designed to blast you with ads by forcing a new lock screen "slide to unlock" loaded with adds and it will pop up ads on a set timer no matter what you are doing. unfortunately, I've uninstalled the app but the ads remain. I've looked for the culprit in my phone but can't find it to uninstall. search for com.android.mopub or com.mopub

Excellent app. It is just simple and does what is advertises. You can also search for products from the app and also copy the bar code numbers to a different app. I use it at work to scan bar code serial numbers and email them to myself for paperwork. It is perfect. I am glad to have it.

Hello, How are you ? Great I hope! Works as promised.... Just saved the day for me. I have an app that cannot open the camera on phone to set up a login account. I had the secondary option to import a url which I was able to do using the Lightning QR code reader to extract the url, then copy and paste the url into the app's designated box. This saved me from doing extensive trouble shooting or worse having to send phone back because this was needed for work! Great Job! Have a great week! Tony

Best Scanner because it's the only one with ZOOM! All the rest don't give the ability to zoom with the camera, which is kinda stupid. This app is the only one that works with zoom and it's super fast. Just wish the ads would be gone.

I have had limited success with this app. When I can get a scan to work, very often, when I search for the codes puid it gives me a bunch of garbled nonsense. Yet at other times it will work well for what I am looking for. App uses ads, some of which are distractions from the task at hand.

App was great for a while just sat there for when I needed it. Then I start getting notifications about FB QR codes multiple times a day so turned off notifications, then started getting ads for games constantly despite not using app for 6 months. 12 ads in 4 hours, completely unsolicited!!! Ridiculous!!!! Needless to say uninstalled app. Do not use it's a bloody joke!!!

The app letterboxes a tiny section of the screen and then makes things worse by massively zooming in the camera. Need to be a ridiculous distance away from the code for it to fit in the "scan" section.

Language came up very strange. Couldn't recognize it. Scanned a code and it brought me to google with 9 numbers in the search box, no results. Next scan was a bunch of text. Absolutely useless. Tried another scanner for the same code, worked immediately.

Everytime I open this app, it is almost impossible to close it, as it puts an ad right at the bottom and since I have my buttons on screen, the ad will cover the buttons, making them impossible to operate. Will have to remove this app and install another one.

Opened the app and all it did was bring up the camera function, had a rectangle in the middle of screen and a pluse button in the middle of the rectangle, I figured common since would be to put the code in the middle of it, well no matter what angle I did, if I pushed the pluse or not, how far away or close I was, used the zoom, it sid nothing. Deleted app.

Trying this to pair with other devices and it never does it. It just goes back to what you used to scan the menu at a restaurant. Maybe nowadays you can just use your phone and get rid of these scanners

Absolutely awful. UI is blurry and bright and doesn't even seem to point in the correct direction. Also, upon opening the app the default language seems to be Arabic. I couldn't understand the message and just clicked "no" (the options underneath were in English, so no consistency either )

Did not like it at all. Scanning is slow and sometimes couldn't be completed even with good lighting. That cross in the middle of the screen does not help at all. And the advertising of another scanning app in this scanning app looks suspicious.

wow! it actually works! I have tried three other QR scanners, they just sit there. I tried this one at the recommendation of my roommate, opened it up and scanned it over a code in one of my magazines, low and behold up comes options, and to go to the website. Just easy to do, it was quick oh, I love it. Thank you so much for this, nothing else ever worked for me this does!!

First time ever, never had it on my phone before but this is an awesome app, before I could get the QR code completely on the box to be scanned, BAM, it had all the info up and running before I could open my eyes from blinking !! All apps need to take notice and figure out what they're doing wrong cause these peeps got it together !!!!

This was great for scanning codes at a car lot, and without any hassle. There were quite a few adds, but that's just part of it for keeping the app free. I would definitely download and use it again, when needed!

Originally got this app not expecting much. But it turned out to scan so fast that I was actually worried it would produce wrong results. Today I got my phone zapped, and I replaced a lot of apps that gave me issues. Except for this QR code reader. It's so simple and fast: truly a good app.
