Didn't care for it much when I first bought it about 20 years ago. Then I lost the license when I got a new computer. About 10 years later I got an email from FaithLife out of the blue inviting me to download version 6. A much improved user interface and abundant free resources converted me to a true believer in Logos. I also appreciate being able to install it on all my devices. The mobile app works very well on my phone screen as well as my Android/Samsung tablets. No more clunky license
9 out of 10 times the app will not sync the resources in my Library. It just keeps giving the error "Could not open offline resources" despite the fact that the resources downloaded on my phone. Clicking the 'Sync' option is also of no use. It's very frustrating to use this app as offline or on-the-go resource.
I'm learning Latin and ancient Greek and it's been a bit difficult to find an app that allows me not just to read in those languages but also learn new words. This app has translations in those languages and also provides tools to look up words in the dictionary and many other features. The interface is clean and although sometimes it's not that intuitive, it's really fun to use
One of the best bible apps around. It cuts my Sermon prep down considerably. Even the free version carries a tremendous amount of books to help someone learn more about the scriptures. However, you get more with a paid subscription. Which I feel is more than worth it. I currently have the Platinum plan. However, I am a bivocational pastor and need the extra resources
Having issues since latest update... Please fix connectivity issues to resources (cross lookup isn't working, word highlight to show information isn't working, media resources aren't loading)... Every other app on my phone is working. Thanks 👍 it's a great app... Sure you guys will fix it soon.
Love the ease of looking up words and their meanings. I wish that it would automatically save my place in reading daily, and that I could have many tabs open of different books. This might be the case already--maybe I'm not aware of those features.
Having used Bible software and online Bible apps for over 30 years, FaithLife Logos is, in my opinion, the best as of this review. Someone or another company might produce something better in the future but I sincerely doubt it. Every time I have needed assistance the support people have also been terrific. The version I have has exceeded all my expectations and helped me with all my Biblical studying. Thank you Logos.
I am new to the deeper side of Christianity and this app has ALOT of resources that would cost thousands of dollars if purchased and they are available at no/low cost! Many research tools such as original language (greek/hebrew) word studies, dictionaries, different translations, etc. Invaluable resource. Easy to understand. Practical application!
I've been using this app for a few years now and I love it. It syncs with my desktop and I have hundreds of books, commentaries and Bibles available in the palm of my hands. I can highlight and make notes anywhere. I use it everyday and highly recommend it.
Logos is one of the best bible study tools out here. However, the mobile app has been crashing for me lately. My reading plan will also open to a day I've already read. I have to close it out and go back into it for it to work. Lastly, I can't believe there is still not an option for read aloud. Maybe because it's a Bible study tool specifically you guys don't expect people to study on the go, but we do. Please add the feature already.
This is a nice app to have, there are others but all good for different reasons. This app allows you to have many books with you and several open at the same time and each jist a flick of your finger away. Some people post about the speed of the app, I believe it's still better than going to the library or lugging around all you resources witth you.
I am just learning how to use the app besides just reading the scriptures. I love being able to compare translations without needing a large space to open several books and the ease with which different words are pointed out. Does one of the resources show__(customs?)___ of the times that would lend better/deeper understanding to the text?
The apps functionality is excellent and feature rich, but the scrolling smoothness is really bad and distracting. Android 12 120Hz refresh rate on a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with the Snapdragon 888 is juddery and unpleasant. The YouVersion Bible app is as smooth as silk on both 60Hz and 120Hz. Its 2022 and this should not be an issue anymore. Please work on this.
What is not to love with this app.Side by side 'synced' translations with good modern English versions free on WiFi. Excellent, quick, and effective search engine. Not a huge app and pretty quick. Love it. AND... the price is right, Free!
Logos is vast and a tool that helps me study the Word. I prefer the PC version as it is easier to navigate and use than the phone version. Once you start to understand the search, navigate and auxiliary functions, it becomes really powerful, but you do need to spend time getting to that point. A good tool that has allowed me to find out more about the Bible and the relationships between and throughout passages.
The software itself is powerful. The apps need improvement (mobile more than desktop). Take a long time to boot up. Some of the best features aren't intuitive and many are missing on mobile. Text to speech is awful and non-existent on mobile; for original languages, Hebrew and Greek, it spells out words letter by letter, and it takes forever. The interface for audiobooks is frustrating (can't pause or resume from my earbuds). Text selection on mobile is frustrating and unpredictable.
Great library, powerful app, good occasional sales, good customer service. I have some great commentaries here. But the app tests how much you are willing to suffer for Christ. Especially the highlight feature. I recommend it either way, since it's the best of its kind, but it should takes some cues from Kindle (which I often choose instead of buying from Logos due to its ease of use).
Nothing is perfect but this app is extremely helpful and what's most important is the customer support. It's pretty amazing, the are prompt, professional, and courteous.
I host a Christian podcast. I have been using this app for both my personal and podcast use for just about a year now. I absolutely love the ease of use, the features, the depth and breadth of resources! I encourage everyone to give it a try.
It's kinda complicated to figure out. There's more than I will ever use. I really, really resent losing WORDsearch. I much preferred it. It has the best search features I have ever found in any electronic Bible. It was the only search functions that I use. Since I lost WORDsearch I really don't have much use for LOGOS. It is far to complicated to use and I don't even use it any more. I have gone to Olive Tree and it is no WORDsearch either. You stink. One star.
By the far best Bible study tool out there (if you're willing to pay the money); my only issue is that it runs rather slowly, I've been told that it runs well on iPhone and that this is an insufficiency in the manner of how this app is programmed for Android. Thanks!
If you have the money for it, Logos 9 is second to none when it comes to Scripture study, sermon preparation, and exegetical tools. The app is exceptional - especially considering how much this program has to offer.
The transition from Wordsearch to Logos was smooth. The app works smoothly. The resources available in the app are easy to install and use.
Very good Bible study app that facilitates one's understanding of the biblical presentation. The videos are a plus. Highly recommended for all Bible students
why won't it download to my PC? When i hit install, something comes up with old cell phones. it says choose a device. i don't want it to any of those devices, just my PC. Please help! Thank you.
Since this app bothers me for a rating too often and is slow on my phone I have to give it a 4. I have had to resort back to paper when following along during a sermon or other teaching session and I did not have that problem with a competitor's app. But I really like the feature that allows a quick comparison of multiple versions. The best feature, which needs work, is the ability to 'hold click' a word and see the original Greek or Hebrew word and it's definition (or synonyms).
