If you are happy to only have your data on your phone it's probably OK. But if you actually want to use it to make a map on your computer you have the upgrade to the pro version. Without that functionality it's absolutely useless. Devs should be up front about limitations on the free version so I don't waste my time on an app that "can" do what I need but doesn't.

i would like a refund. waste of $15 for me. Maybe not a bad app for collecting data, but import functionality is quite limited. i purchased because it claimed to be able to import esri shape files. though that is partially true, i found that it can only import the most basic shape files with few points correctly. any polys with larger point counts or cutout areas within the poly do not import correctly, so it is of no use to me.

Mapit GIS sems to be working well with Trimble Catalyst. Some questions though :-) Is there any way to load a project file rather than switching layers on or off? I need to work on different sites and don't want to have confusing layers. Which OSGB transformation does Mapit use? OSTN02 or OSTN15? Could the developer add the option to import SHP files? Great app!

Frustrating to be told to keep repurchasing the pro extension daily despite owning .Recent updates are so frustrating. You could be in an extremely remote area without network access and boom the app suddenly tells you need to buy a pro extension to access database management feature despite having bought one prior. No change of phone no change of anything and it costs you travelling to a network area to "try" repurchasing only to be told "error! You already own this item" 😡😡 So frustrating!!

Worked like a charm for ~1 year. Pulled it out this spring and it wont export data. I purchased Mapit GIS Pro at the onset, but it seems the extension is no longer recognized. When I try to repurchase it wont let me. Maybe the app is no longer being supported, thats a shame.

I am having the same issue as Charlie Flower. Used to love this app, but for some reason it no longer allows me to export data. Not useful without that feature, as I need to import files into a GIS program. If they don't update soon, consider another app.

Cannot zoom in close enough to avoid points clustering and makes it impossible to select specific points, importing shp files is a joke and works 2% of the time, cannot plug in coordinates to plot a point or to navigate to those coordinates, inability to organize layers into folders (maybe have a project folder you can keep multiple layers in),

Rock Solid field mapping app. I currently use Mapit Spatial and find with using NTRIP I am able to collect Sub 2M data. Using a bluetooth linked GNSS receiver like a Reach RS2 and ntrip easily Sub 2cm all on a mid level capable Android phone. Would love to see an ability to link into a qgis server, or load qgis field files for offline editing, and upload etc etc. A very useful field tool in this non spatial version. Used in irrigation service support area.

Works good for collecting data. Able to successfully import and export data with no issues. I do wish it was possible to zoom in further than the app allows.

App works fine and is pretty straightforward and easy. But I'm trying to buy/download the Mapit Pro Extension and keep getting and error message and it wont let me download. Getting really frustrating!!!!

Using with trimble catalyst. Subinch accuracy & very easy to use. A little difficult to get everything working correctly but a phone call to aTrimble trainer will quickly get you going. Very pleased with both products.

Surprisingly accurate on shots I have taken. But now will not work when I go to export the files. Worked once and now just gives an error. Guess for my $18.99 it was just good for one export.

Can't import files from device storage, dropbox, or google drive. Have tried on multiple devices. Google drive won't connect to mapit at all (doesnt get past login screen). Files won't show up on sd card or dropbox screens. If fixed would be 5 stars!!

Fantastic app that I use for field collection of GPS data. Not centimeter accuracy of course, but it doesn't cost 4 to 5 figures either. Works perfectly for general data collection.

very robust app. anyone interested in collecying spatial data should use this app has facility to work without internet. you can zoom area under observation when connected to internet and then go to field for data collection. evwn without net you will able to work with background data

The latest update does not install on android 8, it will download and does not install it and makes this an eyesore to your app updates. Plainly... It does not work, even tried clearing cache and data still it failed to install

Lots of great features to customize field collection notes. the .JSON files are easy to write and provide a multitude of input data types from Boolean, dropdown, and text input. Great tool.

Excellent tool I have used for gps data collection in forestry and now as a golf course manager. All you need. Accuracy not always great but good enough for large spaces. Thumbs up!!

As another user mentioned, this app will not import ESRI shapefiles. I paid the 15 dollars to import, just to find out A) that I have to place my files in a specific folder on the device memory (of which there is not much, I want to be able to choose a folder on my SD card), and B) it will not import ESRI shapefiles as the description suggests. I have requested a refund and thankfully it was processed quickly.

Works perfect. I'm an ecologist and do a lot of wildlife surveys as well as wetlands and exotic plant surveys. I love this app and it exports shp files very nicely for ArcMap on the desktop.

Excellent app, I just love it. Expecting some advanced features in this app in coming future, like support for other databases e.g. MS SQL. Realtime connectivity with QGIS and ARCGIS. Connecting and data sync among multiple Mapit GIS apps. Mapit for Apple and Windows devices. Thanks

Hi I just Purchased the pro version a week ago. Overall, Mapit GIS is a very handy and helpful tool for my job. But I wonder if it possible to automatically export photo to excell table with another attributes so i didn't have to put it manually ? i would give 5 stars review if it possible. Thanks

The app is pretty good except (1) the length and area are not computed correctly maybe because it is based on 3D or geodetic formula and (2) labels are not working correctly when export as shapefiles. Feature request (1) 2D length and area, (2) snapping to feature vertex and edge (3) stakeout to find points.

Showing false accurancy in app connected with trimble rtk receiver. All messages needed are activated and receiver webinterface says some mm accurancy. No response from developer, have tried to mail and to skype.

A great app to work with. Though it gets slow once in a while. And sometimes loses info that you enter before saving.

A. G. u. Sep 2, 2019

Just what I needed to easily map points of interest on top of Google Maps. However, you must upgrade for $18.99 just to export your data.

A. G. u. Jul 26, 2019

requires GPS, storage, and video permissions. without these the app won't even start. i understand the GPS permission, but why do you need access to my storage and video in order to use a mapping tool?

Been using this for years already. I've used it during my field surveys, as well as just to map out my navigation via land, air, or sea.
