Downloaded for two reasons, digital check in and digital room key. The first said things checked in fine, turns out card had declined but the app doesnt let you know theres issues. The digital key? Doesnt work at all, the notification comes through that its good to go but there is no way to access the key in the app (front desk of hotel tried to help and showed where there *should have been access but was not, but turns out very few people can get them to work)
Mostly Pointless. The room key option worked a few months ago, but the app was updated since then, and now it no longer works. None of the other services this app provides are of any real use, and they border on being just an ad for the hotel chain. Without the key option, there's no point in my continuing to use this app. I have no idea how its rating is so high.
I used to love this app but with the digital key not working it is a huge draw back. I mostly used it for the digital key. The app is nice to book a hotel in but isn't anything special over just accessing the internet and booking online. It is a little easier to check you account status but if you want to check benefits for a specific level you still have to go to the website. This is done in the app with a click but not even your current status benefits can be viewed without the website.
The mobile key does not work on this app. Half the time it tells me I need to go to the front desk no matter what the front desk does. The other half of the time it tells me the key is ready, but it never appears in the app. My friends with iPhones have functioning mobile keys for the same hotel, so it's clearly this app that's the problem. Pretty embarrassing for Marriott.
The app has for months been incorrectly reporting the number of years needed to achieve Lifetime Platinum, as it displayed my Lifetime Gold years, not the Platinum. As a result, when I reached the 600 night milestone, I remained Lifetime Gold, even though the app clearly shows I earned Lifetime Platinum. The iOS app correctly shows my actual years of Platinum. 1)Marriott needs to correct their programming error and 2) make good to members who believed the information as shown on the app.
Haven't been able to find my reservations or use mobile check-in since the last update. I travel for a living and this is a huge pain. It keeps saying connectivity issue, whether i'm connected to wifi or 4g lte. You guys get worse with every update! At least Hilton's app works!
Another update the app still has problems with the mobile key. Hilton's app is much better in that regards Had to update this and drop a star.. I'm not understanding why I cant reserve a room using points via the app.. I either have to call or 7se the web browser..... oneof the best apps on my phone. Very clean and user friendly. Issues I have is sometimes the Bluetooth key doesn't work and my confirmation number only works if I go make a reservation through this app and not 3rd party.
Very easy to use, it is very responsive when selecting options, plenty of hotels pictures, full hotels details displayed. I would like to have the option to add notes to the hotel when I'm doing the booking.
App is worthless when trying to book a room, times out and have to start over several times even though I have strong wifi and cell signal, not smart phone intuitive so touch screen barely works. I'd expect more from a company like Marriot who caters to a more sophisticated clientele.
Horrible experience using the chat feature from help center. It gets closed after waiting for long time in queue. No way to go back to where you left. Each time start new, be in a line. Absolutely hopeless app and equally useless customer service.
No digital key. I'm always told digital key is ready but it never shows up. Thank God I still know how to get a key card from front desk. This has been going on for while and still waiting for it to be fixed. Happened on my note 10 and now my s22 ultra.
The mobile key gets sent to your phone and you see your room number but the mobile key icon doesn't appear, as lots of other reviewers say, so you cannot use the most important function of the app, mobile key. When you message support they blame it on user error, but it has very clearly has been broken for months.
The Bonvoy app makes booking so simple. You can save your preferences and it gives you options for different rates. You can use the app to check in and add a room key. It's great!
I have been unable to open this app for several months to search for hotels in Waco and NYC and to check points status. I sent feedback and have not received reply. I am not even able to delete since it opens/closes so quickly.
I love Marriott hotels in general, their credit cards and the app is good too. I read some forums to be able to get the best value ,and now I feel like I know about all the benefits and get the best service. Customer service is usually very helpful ,only once or twice they could not help me,but it made sense in these particular situations.
Very convenient apps, when the system isn't down for one reason or another. Still highly recommend if you're a frequent traveler who prefers Marriott's rewards program.
Please show point earning details like the website does, base/elite/ect and allow us to book free night certificates using the app, also certificate plus additional points for higher categories of hotels. Mobile key shows up 10% of the time, using a Pixel 5 with Android 12. When searching past trips or cancelled trips the app states, "This service is temporarily unavailable, but don't worry, we're on it. Please try again later." It's later and it still shows this from time to time.
I love Marriott app despite the difficult part of finding customer service number 🙄. The app works just fine and very easy to navigate. The Marriott itself is where my issue comes in at. and when I called to have them fix my issues they didn't do that for me. so I just counted as a loss. All hotels except 1 was very clean and pleasing to stay at
While the app is good, their credit nights policy is unfair. I chose to stay at Marriott group hotel (Four Points Jakarta) for 16-nights. But just because I booked the room through a travel agent, they did not give me a single credit nights into my Bonvoy account. This is unfair. As a customer I chose to stay in your group hotels. If I book it through a travel agent then you can atleast give me 'reduced number of nights' credit to my account. Unfair policy to loyal customers.
This App is garbage. As a Platinum Elite Member it is frustrating that it is such a hassle to actually redeem my rewards through this broken down app. I have been back and forth with customer service agents via email. Nothing has ever been resolved. I trave for work and average about a 100 nights on the road. I prefer Marriott however I do not always have my laptop on me. The good news is that Hyatt & Hilton Apps work great!
When it actually opens, which sometimes sometimes takes 20 seconds and sometimes never happens, the app works ok to make reservations. Mobile key never works. Mobile check-in never works, I always have to go to the front desk to check in. You can't cash in your points in the app. They harass you to give them a good app rating constantly. Here's your rating.
Wouod be great if Marriott could figure out their own key system. Online key of course didn't work and when I called the number that came up when the "key" was declined it went to the front desk. The clerk answered immediately but me on hold then hung up on me. If you offer a service like a digital key perhaps it should actually work. Your a multi million dollar corporation.......you can do better Marriott.... Come on.
Check in and check out work well. Have had no problems making reservations. Two things that Hilton does far better are mobile key and check in. Hilton mobile key is superior to Marriott. The Marriott mobile key is so bad I always get an actual key because I know it will not be if it fails but when. Hilton Mobile key works easily, every time. At check in on the Hilton app, I get to see a map of the property and choose my room. I like both companies but Marriott has some work to do.
The app is used to be good. However, unable to make a new booking due the the credit card was expired. But add/edit credit card details always return with error. Free toll number is not working and no way to ask for assisting
Login-logout loop is the main recurring issue of this app. In 2019 happened to times, latest in October when I opened a request to the support to feedback the issue to their dev team. In 2020 first trip and it happens again! App is again disconnecting every time I go to the trips tab and I need to relogin in a loop, there is an issue in the login logic that crashes on the Trips tab. Impossible to use. Too bad as otherwise the interface is great.
