Mercari: The best shopping app

I have been selling for close to a year with no real problems but this last week, with these new changes, listing has become VERY challenging. I have to save as draft multiple times for each listing when try to enter the brand name, it freezes. Also when I turn off the automatic price drop, I just can't do anything because it freezes. I literally have to save as a draft and close the entire app, to reopen and go in to finish the listing. (For each listing.) Helppppppp please.

I have been using this app for 3 years now and I've never had so many issues. The update is horrible and needs to be fixed. I can't see other profile pictures of listed items. Only the price and a blank box. I can't edit pictures properly when listing. Listing an item is super slow. Inbox, notifications, profile very hard to navigate now. This is my primary selling platform and I am not happy. I hope it gets fixed soon.

Newest update is a mixed bag. It's extremely slow to refresh. A message that was sent 2 hours ago I just finally responded to a little bit ago even tho I would have seen it almost immediately had the app refreshed when I re-opened it. I was having difficulty navigating the app when it first updated. I've gotten used to it. Search results can now be filtered which is helpful. Messages can be deleted, at last. I've dealt with a few sellers who I'd rather.. not have.

The latest update is super slow and so far I'm not happy with it! The photos won't even show up in my normal feed to see my likes! I have to just click on a price with a blank white area and then go into the item to view it! Not happy at all! Also I hate the new photo editor with a passion!!! I tried to rotate a photo but it forces you to resize and cuts off your images! Hate it!

Usually a good user friendly app but the latest update is awful. So slow that it's almost unusable. It took half an hour to send a message! Useless notifications have now been blended with messages making it nearly impossible to know if you get a new message. The layout and search features are way too time consuming. If you want to make a good change, move the auto replys away from the message box to prevent accidental touching, otherwise please go back to the old app that actually functioned.

This is a great app. However, I just recently sold an item, miscalculated ship weight, but order doesn't show the ship charge. I lost money unnecessarily, trying to fix the issue, thinking I under charged only to find that it was the same price for the weight difference. Help from CS was not clear. I have several listings and can't remember every ship charge. There needs to be a way to enter the original listing to double check information. Or a line item that shows shipping charged to buyer.

The app has become awful since the last update in early May! It is now slow and keeps crashing! I used to love how quick and effortlessly I was able to post an item. What used to take 3 minutes to post is now taking me 30-45 minutes to post!! I used to be able to upload 12 pictures at once but now if I try to upload more than one at a time the app crashes. I can't save as a draft, it keeps saying internal server error and doesn't save anything. PLEASE FIX THE APP!!!

when I first started using Mercari I really liked it, but I didn't like the latest update to the camera. then, with this overall recent update, there are quite a few things I dislike! I hate that the listings from the seller's view are all in a single vertical list. I prefer the 2x2 layout. I also hate that when you transfer your $ balance it takes you out of the app... and I hate the new ring tone you get when you sell something! bring back the *CHA-CHING* sound!

A decent app to sell on. The high fees is more an issue (Selling fees, processing fees, depositing fees). Processing and depositing should be included in the selling fees. As a buyer, it's a great app. As a seller, I rate it low. Items can be there for a long time & mercari pushing to give low deals for a lot of items that shouldn't be so low

I recently wrote a review, detailing that there was an issue interfacing between Gboard voice to text and this app. The problem seems to only occur in the item description field. I had high hopes that this would be resolved with a major update that was done today. Unfortunately, it does not seem to have been resolved. You guys really need to look into this. It's the biggest field to type in, voice to text is a MUST!! And now when you hit sell another item, it does not bring you to a new listing

Glitchy when listing items for sale. While typing, it doubles my words and leaves out letters and spaces. For example, the word "example" will show up as "examexample" or "exmpexample" or "examplenumberthree". This does not occur when I type in any other app. Editing pictures is a real pain. If I simply want to rotate the picture, it forces cropping, which I have to go back and undo. Cropping is also difficult because it keeps trying to recenter the picture automatically.

I've used Mercari a few years now and it's been great. Recently though, they updated their app and it's just really bad. Postings are challenging as the screen freezes and words erase and misspell due to this. You have to copy and paste to get it right. Also my posts since the updates are not really getting the same amount of views and likes. I searched my items and noticed they are not coming up at the top of a search since it's new, but way below older items. Hope this gets fixed.

This latest update is absolutely terrible. I've never had so many issues with this app before. It constantly freezes every so often when I'm listing stuff. When I'm typing descriptions for products it will delete words and do weird things. Takes me so much longer than normal to list items. I hope these issues are resolved soon!

Bugs and performance has NOT improved. The update made everything similar to the apple user interface making things completely backwards. It never asked to have access to my files to edit photos, now with the update it needs Access. The camera feature has not improved only changed to a format that auto adjusts without allowing you to focus on a detailed spot. After all the updates it will skip letters and choose different words and the algorithm continues to favor only certain sellers. So sad.

Love the concept but the app keeps glitching. As a seller: I have edited and saved my profile photo and description 4+ times and each time it dissappears. Now when I go into edit profile to attempt again, it gives me a white screen that never loads. I have also verified my phone number 3 times and it instantly tells me I need to verify my phone number. As a buyer: when I go into sizes to choose the sizes I'd like to see all of the sizes and styles are out of order. Need an option to save sizes.

Best money-making app/site I've used thus far. Nothing compares. The search features are impeccable, the way Mercari handles the money transfer is Perfect.. I also like that they confirm identity, especially when you update your payment information. And you can use the money you make right in the app, so it's like a little reservoir of money that you can save and use when needed. It's awesome. Mercari is the only app I'll use or recommend to my friends.

Long story short, I'll never use eBay again. Maybe it was just bad luck but I had to return back to back items that were defective upon arrival. Mercari had a better selection, the seller packaged my cd player much more securely & it arrived quickly, in perfect condition. The entire experience was wonderful.

The app is great. Joined in 2017, made over $5,000 since than. The app recently had a major update that made the app run not like it was made by a highschool programmer student. The creators are getting very greedy though. When I first started, there was only the selling fee, now there is a processing fee, a bank transfer fee ... I hope this is the last of the fees Mercari, if not unfortunately I'll have to be parting ways. Other than that. Excellent app !

App has greatly improved over the years. Some improvements can always be made but all in all, this app serves very well to claim itself as one of the top swap meet apps. When you're searching for an item, it's easier to break down your search and also get a better look at detailed and honest reviews of sellers and even buyers. Transactions through the app are simple and secured. Easy to make a claim and walk out unscathed if a deal goes south.

Ever since the last update this app has not worked correct. I always sort my listings oldest to newest to help me with adjusting prices and the sort is not working. When I got in touch with support they said that anytime I adjust the price of a listing it will change my listing date, and there is no way to fix it. I like to be able to see how long I have had items listed but apparently there is no way to do that now. Time to find a new app!

Update 14 May 22 Not sure what's going on over at Mercari in regards to development but lately the app has been horrible to work thru. In the past I've rated it 5 stars and am hoping to go back to 5 stars. Performance is dismal, loading takes a long time, messages aren't visible, typing in text boxes gets jumbled and so many more issues. I've removed and reinstalled 6 times and it's worked great 1 out of 6 times. Unfortunately app updates itself and goes back to being problematic. Please fix

I LOVE MERCARI!! It gets difficult sometimes to step out of the norm and try some place different. In this case, I am WAAAAY GLAD I DID! You can find anything and everything you're looking for and get it at a better price than expected without having to sacrifice the condition of the item, PLUS meet and continue to go back to pages/stores you love!

There seems to be a very constant problem with the communication between keyboard and the app. It usually only happens while writing in the description of every listing. Words gets mingle or erased or letters take the wrong place while writing. There's also a slight delay while at it. It is very annoying.

I've never had any issues with the app but now with these new changes I'm experiencing lots of issues. The app keeps glitching. I couldn't even send a counter offer to someone yesterday or view details from a past order. They also took away the For You Likes column. I would suggest they put the app back to the way it was. Before the changes I would have given it a 5 star but with all the glitches I have to now make it a 3 star

I am not sure what happened but I have had nothing but issues trying to use this app for the past 2 months. My gallery does not load. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, cleared data, reduce font , you name it, I tried. But I still can't get my gallery to pull up. I just get cancel X when I select albums from my gallery. Nothing loads.Support has tried but they give up as well. Just Mercari. All my other apps work fine. The previous update damaged something. What's being done?

The recent update has been disappointing, especially since I can no longer see the newest items from sellers I follow. I've looked all though the app and there is no longer a space for it. This was super handy before and now it seems pointless to foolow people or even have a follow button... Update: Changed to a one star because the app has become so slow it is practically unusable.

Edit as of 5/17/22 The app is so slow now, even on fast wifi it takes forever to load. I also noticed you all made it much harder to actually talk to customer service for help, not a surprise. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. This app/site is not getting better! Old: Hate the new update, way harder to navigate and so many pop ups when I'm uploading images to sell. I didn't see why the old layout needed an update, it was fine. Now I have trouble even finding my current orders on mobile.

Ease of use. Is there a reason you won't offer DARK MODE option-not sure why that hasn't been done-been asking for a very long time. Getting really disappointed with this app. Not fees competitive whatsoever. Need to be able to go back exactly where I was before when I scroll-I always have to go way down to find where I left off. Sorting doesn't work correctly at all.
