What the hell did you do to that app? It was working fie and suddenly it's full of bugs. Notifications work once in a while, so I have to open the app manually to see my messages, Chat bubbles are now horrible to use, like, sometimes it won't show the messages and I can't open recent conversations anymore. Did you even test this? And I saw I'm not the only one who have those issues! Fix this please

Messages not going through until the app is reopened. Half the time it doesn't want to connect to the network. Which all other apps and everything else works fine. And connection is strong according to test. I get calls from friends that don't show up anywhere. Just ring/vibrate without the ability to answer. For however long my friend decides to wait on the other line. Which is also very annoying when they are drunk calling. 🙄

This app has become unreliable in the past year. Use to be able to take a picture, while video chatting (you can't anymore), don't get notified when someone sends me a message (I have to open the app multiple times to make sure that I don't miss important messages), and numerous on and off video/ sound issues while trying to video chat. Pretty sad with a company that has so much money invested in it, that the simple things about the app that was reliable and worked efficiently, don't work. 😕

Lots of bugs. Sometimes the bubbles don't show up even if it's on, videos and photos takes a long time to load, and now the @everyone shortcut isn't working. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't work. Customer service isn't working, and after the new updates it got even worse. You can't use the ignore messages function to send someone to your spam folder and the restrict function only works on select chats.

Functional (barely) but buggy. Had to reinstall twice to try to restore full functionality. When trying to edit photos, only a black box shows up instead of seeing the option to save, etc., (because text is black on a black background). When sharing posts from my Facebook feed to a Messenger thread, the shared link won't even open when you try to click on it. The only way to ensure a link will open is to include the URL.

It's a great app, I've had for years now. My problem now is the new chat bubbles update. It's now very complicated, than the old one, in the old one you have the options of watching stories while still having the chat bubbles,.you can also start conversations without having to actually open the app itself, and also, it's confusing, Can you give me the option to change it back??? It's just very confusing and the before was much easier. (Imo) :)

The app has been getting consistently and considerably worse over the last year or so. Constant lag, freezing and delayed message/notification delivery. It hogs half of my phone's RAM and makes my device unusable for the entire period of use. Videos not playing, camera performing absolutely horrendously, photos taking up to 10 SECONDS to be taken. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Trust me, if you can even remotely move to a different messaging platform, do it, until they fix this nonsense.

I have a one plus 7T pro with Android 11 and the app is not working properly. I can't get the videos or photos, I get a "Downloading photo or video" message, and that's all. I can't send photos and videos, recieve calls too. I have to uninstall the app and install again just I can see those photos and than the next 15-20 minutes it goes "offline" again. Everything is up-to-date and I've already rebooted my phone.

I don't know what the issue is but whenever I share a post from FB feed in messenger with someone, the link is never clickable. The only way it sometimes works is if I open the link then open it up in browser and share from there. And even then it doesn't always work. It should just be shareable from the post itself like it gives as an option. I also wish it was possible to turn off the read receipt. If these issues can be fixed, it will be worth more stars.

I've been using this app for ages. Used to work great. For the last two years it's been going downhill fast. Gifs don't send unless I close the chat and rejoin most of the time. Half the time videos I share from one chat to another are automatically declined with a message saying "you cannot preform that action" or something to that effect, unless I save the video, close the app, reopen it, and send it fresh it doesn't work anymore.. Voice messages just showing up as "error" half the time.

1. Messages do not send correctly half the time, sometimes they come through hours or even days later. 2. Voice clips often have zero sound for several hours then magically work. (Not a connection issue, does it with perfect WiFi signal) 3. Calls often won't go through even when both parties have perfect signal, & often drop. 4. Pictures often do not load or load blurry, whenever they're actually not. 5. I LOVE the themes but half the time they don't work/load properly.

An actually bad messaging app. Wouldn't use if the people I want to talk to didn't already use it as their main messaging platform. Constant bugs, having to reload 10 times to see the last 15 sent messages in a group chat. No cross update feature that unsends a notification if you have already viewed it from your phone, tablet or PC. Bubble placement bugs when opening on top of other apps. Looking to migrate at the earliest of my convenience, but as I already stated, that isn't only up to me.

Messenger is a very good place to talk text and video on. I would say 7 out of 10 video/voice calls go through without any issues. There are times that you call your dropped noisy background strange sounds grainy or fuzzy videos. However considering what you're receiving and what you have to pay (nothing ) it's an outstanding service. A lot of things you get you have to pay deer for it and the quality isn't any better. Facebook pushed us to Messenger but it was a smart choice. 4.5 Stars

honestly I'm annoyed. most of the time when someone calls me it doesn't ring, it glitches and won't let me swipe up in a chat, it closes, it takes forever to send pictures or videos etc. the video chat is one of the main problems.. the quality is horrible, most of the time I can't hear the other person, it glitches to watch videos on the video chat, etc. i don't usually do reviews but this is making me mad.

The bugs have surpassed the features, unfortunately. Every fifth voice message plays as directed, the rest are errors or just skipped - including ones I send. Periodically it jumps, skips, hiccups and becomes unresponsive when scrolling. Half the videos play with a black screen or with the wrong audio. With stellar wifi it's 'downloading photos' for minutes at a time. Perhaps it's our own fault for going oldschool with Facebook. There are so many less buggy options out there.

I don't know of a way to send pages or pictures to myself. For awhile, there was a choice to send to myself under "Just Me," but that option has dissppeared from the choices under "Send To." Also I would like the option to send a message under SMS. Also this window of "Rate this app" keeps freezing up so I cannot answer the provided questions. Horrible.

Never seen an app create so much issues with a phone and having so much problem in itself. Happened to me that it would freeze the phone during a call because I received a notification and needed a hard reset. Also alot of times I can't scroll up in a conversation, the app forces me to go down and will go back down by itself if I manage to go up a bit. The app constantly has issues with taking pictures. Needs a force stop of the app alot when you want to use it again too, it will just not show

Been using for years, and for almost a year or longer, the app and the actual fb app will tell me I have an unread message. I go to check the message and there's nothing new, not even in the requests. I uninstall and reinstall and it shows that a message I've already read that wasn't previously showing as unread, is what's triggering it to show that I have a message. While it doesn't make it unusable, it's extremely irritating and I wish they'd fix it.

1. issues with videos, if you don't fully click into a video sent to you privately or in group chats to watch it in fullscreen, there's a chance of the app breaking or the video stopping suddenly when someone else reads the chat or when a message is sent. 2. sometimes, a person's profile picture will show as one they haven't had for months. 3. not a complaint, I really like the themes, pls keep them coming! 4. search in conversation crashes the app.

For now it will be 4 stars, it's a great app but there's this 1 issue that's keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating. When i tap on the photos or videos it doesn't respond like it just totally doesn't even open or play the video I can't even give a reaction to it. I always go to the option-view media, files and links menu just to see it. Pls fix this.

"Tap again, message not sent" is an error I am getting quite often now. I have a friend who says they are getting that too. I've been using this app fine for years. This just started recently. It's a real drag as I'm so used to it working correctly, and now hours later I notice my message did not send. I'm guessing there are other SMS apps out there I can try?

After most recent update, chat heads keep crashing. It seems to be fine if it's not in use and it's just sitting there, but if I receive a message from anyone it instantly disappears, or if I open the chat heads and begin typing a message to someone, it disappears mid-type and I lose everything I've input. Since I use chat heads exclusively, this has made the app essentially unusable for me.

It was great until update before last. Now messages aren't coming through like they used to. It can take hours to get them. Under notifications I always keep the options "show as popup and ignore dnd" set as on. It continuously resets and then no sound or pop-up. The pop-up when it does work closes intermittently so again I don't know if my messages have been answered unless i reopen the app

This app has been slowly getting worse and worse in the past year. Messages don't get delivered until I open the app itself, videos keep freezing and after watching them the chat becomes frozen (have to close it and open again), themes don't show up (the background is solid color instead of the pictures), sometimes when I have a chat shown as bubble the messages don't appear (even tho I have them in notification bar).

1. App still doesnt work on free data. I have to switch to Messenger Lite when I go out, but I don't get any notifications from Messenger Lite. 2. iPad version is also constantly updated but the chat search feature still does not work properly. (+ the iPad version is super buggy) 3. Constantly removing useful features (chatheads in an old update, the video chat picture button, etc.) instead of fixing common bugs. 4. Frequent and inconvenient UI changes that don't even last very long.

the new update is very horrible, you remove the 'ignore message' and you changed it into 'restricted accounts' which basically is the most awful part of the app. I tried to restrict the acct. of my friend to try if it's the same as the ignore one, however after that, there's no button telling to unrestrict it. As a result, my message can't be sent. Pls. fix this.
