Monsters & Generators for D&D

I think the app is fantastic! As a new DM I struggle finding appropriate encounters for the party, this app makes things super easy with the filters you can sort by CR and pick monsters that would put a good fight without having to adjust a lot of things! The interface is neta and quite intuitive which makes the app even better. You can download it and get going without any tutorials!

This thing is awesome. But, I have something to note. While I was homebrewing an extensive innate spell list for one of my monsters, I had to pop out of the app to check a few things. I made sure I saved everything, but when I came back, the "Traits" section was completely cleared out. The second time this happened I actually saved it, exited the editing mode and looked at it in the normal view. It was there. Then I went to the edit mode to change something and it got cleared out again.

Simple, easy to use and does what it it does well. It would be nice to have an option to have a difficulty option. Currently it will throw out a random difficulty, it would useful if you could specify random, easy, or hard etc. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because it's crashed or frozen a lot for me. Edit to clarify: the crashes don't make it unusable but usually crashed if I went to change settings after rolling with pretty high consistency.

Some and amazing app that allows for full customization of creatures and edits. I love that customer monsters have their own space and it's just a click away. You can even customize pre-existing monsters. And it's amazing. User interface is clean and beautiful. I love that it comes with a dark background that is easy on the eyes. The editing is simple as well. Click the feathers pen in the top right corner and you can edit away. The only thing I have yet to fined is the xp edit space.

Amazing resource, the ability to custom edit anything generated is fantastic. Would be 5 stars but it gets "stuck" and I need to close the app before it will allow me to change the number of characters, level or terrain after it has generated one or more encounters with a certain set of criteria. Easy to do, just back out & restart the app, but still. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for any GM or writer.

This. App. Is. Wonderful! The creation system is so incredibly smooth and fast and I will definitely use this in every one of my games. The customization is thorough and extensive. The only thing I would suggest in future updates is to add the different monsters from supplements like Volo and Mordenkainen's. That would truly make this app perfect.

As a DM, getting all the tools to make the best D&D experience is important. AND MAKING ENCOUNTERS ON THE SPOT IS HARD. Due to all the rules of scaling the player's average level, and trying to make it as non-generic as possible, takes a while to do, but with this app, it's all done with a click. Even when referring to monsters in the Monster Manual, it takes a while and then your players are just impatient. This app tells you the stats in an instant. This app is basically a level 20 bard.

Its a good app, the best Ive found. But i have had several issues, first, editing traits and actions will actually save about half the time using the auto save and the hard save button. I can't name certain traits, it just wont let me. And when i try to port custom monsters into the sister app "initiative tracker" it rests the custom monster back to original status. Other then that it's a must have for any DM.

This is an amazing app for helping me to dungeon master. Absolutely love it especially the new adventure feature! In fact if that gets any better I might stop writing my own stories and just use theirs! It's a really great app that will help you in all the situations that your players will take you on that you need to quickly come up with something on the spot. 10/10 would download agai

I've used this app during games for over a year now and really have no complaints. It's a great tool for on-the-fly encounters, and some that I've used have even branched off into their own storylines. All that said, I do wish the monsters were more varied, but a good DM can make anything unique.

If I were rating the app based on it's encounter generation, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 cause it'll do in a pinch. It does seem to like to generate a single creature or 2 creatures for encounters, which is the main reason for 4 stars other than the usual "some mixes of creatures make no sense." HOWEVER, this app is great at giving you some inspiration so I do recommend it quite a bit. The app is great at showing off some neato monsters and abilities that have helped me wildly with DMing.

The app looks great and I'm sure this is a simple fix but it's not letting me change any options. Every editable scroller, when I tap on the option I'd like to choose nothing changes. I hope this is something with my settings because this app seems like a godsend

Good looking app & easy to use. Occasionally it jams but a restart sorts that out. Doesn't seem to have a whole lot of randomness to it as I quite often get the same results.

Excellent, unfathomably helpful, my only minor complaint (that I can remember) is that after searching for and selecting creature, you go back to the search results and it's gotten rid of the suggestions.

It's really great for quickly making a battle, but it is a little irritating, that when you want to change the environments or number of players, you have to restart the app. But beside that, it's a great app where you as DM have full control.

Simple, effective, easy to use, great UI. Really not lacking in any department. One suggestion I would have, although not worth bringing the review down to 4 stars about, is trying to add a CR calculator, following the DMG guidelines. That would make this absolutely perfect.

A great app for new or even veteran D&D DM/GM who wants to create an adventure. Double with the Initiative tracker for D&D, you will have a blast with choosing terrain, creatures, hazards, and even treasure. Plus if you want to randomly create something into a campaign you are doing...you can randomly generate creatures that chooses enemies based on how many and what level your adventuring party is.

A generally good substitute for the monster manual. This app is, however, incomplete, and is missing monsters from Volo's and other supplementary books. I've been able to work around it using the Custom Monsters function, but it's a little time consuming.

Excellent quick reference app, an abundance of community made monsters. However I'm having issues where the actions for my custom monsters will regularly fail to save, or save only the title or the action text itself and not both. Once that's fixed the rest will simply be icing on the cake.

This app is fantastic. My knly grype is that I can't set a difficulty for the encounter to generate. Seeing a ton of easy/medium encounters when im trying for a random hard one can be annoying. Thats honestly a minor complaint though. Great work on this!

good app, but cant seem to create more than 1 monster. any time i "create new" and start a fresh monster it saves over the pre existing one. saving changes to minsters doesnt seem to work most of the time. hitting save doesnt record any changes.

Great App but the images don't save when you go in to customize Monsters, for example I just want to put a picture of insect swarm on the insect swarm monster and couldn't do it. just google image and add photos to the rest of them and you got a 5 star app.

I am overly obsessed with this app, customising my bbeg and creatures has never been easier. My only stopping on the fifth star is that when I go to save one of the images onto my phone gallery I always get a notification saying 'Unsupported Format' and I'm not sure how to solve it :(

I haven't even used this app in a gane yet, but the ability to add my own monsters, and include images just surprised me, and makes me so excited to put in some information and get working. If my thoughts change, i will edit the review. But currently, I'm loving it!

So for what it is, using free source DnD info... It is.... Limited in resources. But what it has, does the job great and fast. Honestly, just having a random generator with legit stats and monster abilities is awesome! If there was a premium version with more and i didnt have to pay WoTc prices, id buy it roght away.
