MoviePass was once a great app, ANY movie you want, ANY time it showed, for FREE. BUT, now it's basically whatever random movie they pick for the day at their time, if you happen to be free at that exact moment and somehow the stars align to where the movie you want to see is actually selected for viewing, it's awesome. But if not, just pay full price for the ticket. It's too bad really, I really loved the system but it went downhill very quickly over the past 6 months.

Started it great, unlimited movies for $10, can't beat it. Completely unsustainable, so when they switched to only 3 movies for $10 I understood. Still a great deal. Then they started only showing certain movies on certain days. Annoying but I can still work around that. But now the last 2 times in a row I've gone to see a specific movie on a day when their website said it would be available, the app didn't even have it listed. I'll be cancelling soon, don't waist your money

It was a gift for Christmas last year. They changed the terms of the pass after I got it. It was advertised as see 1 movie a day. Now they pick the movies you are allowed to see. And they pick the worst of the movies available so nobody will actually use the pass. I will not renew the pass when it expires in January. I would not recommend the pass to anyone! At first I thought, maybe the new plan might still be worth it... but right now my movie pass hasn't been even showing the chosen movies that I was supposed to be able to see. Plus, with the new plan, if they change their mind and decide to limit the movies seen to just one instead of the advertised three... I just wouldn't put it past them... It started out great when they did what they advertised. Now it's been a horrible experience.

It was great but probably not a sustainable business model which is why it's now a niche subscription at best. Once upon a time you could watch anything you wanted, once, for $10 a month. Great deal. Now they curate a VERY limited list of movies and basically black out weekends. Still good if you're an avid movie goer and are fine with weekday showings and limited availability. I canceled this month as that's just not me.

Got this when it first came out and liked it. The past few months they have changed so many things that I can barely keep up. Every change has made Moviepass more annoying, harder to use, and not worth the Price. The most recent change is what made me cancel my subscription. It is almost impossible to plan a movie more than 24hours out considering they rotate the movies you are allowed to see and the schedule isn't always the same when the day comes. You would think that when they limit you to 3 movies a month, they would let you see any movie at any time. Most of my friends are also canceling at the end of this billing period.

It was great at the beginning and even when they started the 3 movie a month policy. Even when they had the peak pricing. But now it is just not worth it the movies that they post on their weekly movie schedule aren't always in theatres and even when they are the times disappear. For instance today I wanted to watch venom. At 10am I checked the app and it had 2 times listed, at 12:30 I checked again and it still had the times. I checked at 2pm and all the times were gone. Even though they were at like 7 and 8pm!!!!. This is like the 3rd time this has happened. This is a great concept and absolutely loved it at first but I am really frustrated with it and have canceled my subscription.

When I first got the app it was great. I prepaid for a year of unlimited movies a month. Then terms changed. Then offerings went away. I haven't seen a single available movie in three months. I've tried to cancel multiple times , and even though a year was prepaid for and terms have drastically changed since then they will not prorate unused time. At this point I want to verify I won't be billed again, but these awful people won't make it easy to get in touch with them. Stay away. Hopefully they go bankrupt.

WTH? They just deactivated my membership without any warning. First I was offered "the original plan," then I was offered the "unlimited plan," then they shut me out! No notice of nonpayment or deactivation. Just a login screen that says my membership is no longer active. Worst app experience I've ever had. When they first came out with $9.95 subscriptions, I thought that it was totally unsustainable but I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I had a good time with it, so when things got rocky I thought that I'd ride the storm till MoviePass tried to figure things out. Then they made the app completely unusable with the "opt-out" screen. I guess MoviePass made the decision for me to no longer use their service. So long MoviePass!

Moviepass used to be great -- I would have given it five stars back in February but it has gone downhill very quickly. They keep slapping on more and more restrictions to the point where there are so few available movies and showtimes that it isn't worth the money. Also, the user interface of the app is terrible. Releases keep being pushed without proper testing making for a very frustrating user experience. I have an Essential Phone and the Theaters, Movies, and Account buttons in the app overlap with my phones home and back buttons, so it makes it nearly impossible to navigate the app. No matter what I do to change the settings on my phone I can't resolve this problem. I would love to share some screenshots or a video of my experience using this app so your developers can look into it. I do not recommend this app.

I became a member in April 2018. I was watching a movie almost every day for a month. Best thing ever! Didn't mind too much when they changed to take a pic of the ticket stub. Understandable as well as not being able to view the same movie twice. They introduced terms of only seeing 3 movies/month with every movie after at a discount price. Since then I haven't watched a movie due to app saying no movies available any time. Disappointed and cancelling. So glad I got my year's money worth early.

As we all orginally thought, it was too good to last. Through the ups and downs it seems movie pass has finally settled into an okay, semi-convenient service. Haven't had any technical issues with the app in a long time and if you're willing to wait a bit or go on days you might not normally go you can see the movies you want to see. Three movies at $10 is still a pretty good deal. I'll be sticking with movie pass until/unless something better comes along.

Absolute garbage! I paid for a year sub, and it was great! They've had to make changes which is understandable but now I'm extremely limited on the movies I can watch. For example, on a Saturday my ONLY options are Assassination nation, and Fahrenheit 11/9, neither of which I have any desire to watch. Want to watch any of the other movies?? Pay out of pocket. This is absolutely worthless now and I'm stuck with the sub for the rest of the year. There's better options out there.

Moviepass used to be good... I first got moviepass a year ago and it was great. We had unlimited movies for 9.99 a month and we used that all the time. Now moviepass is just a waste of money. We are limited to only a select few of movies to pick from. However, the app is broken somehow. I only have 0-2 available movies to choose from. Today, we were planning on seeing Venom since it was the only movie playing on the app. So an hour before we plan on seeing it, I go back in the app and find out the movie just plain out disappeared and every single movie says it's unavailable. This is way unacceptable. Moviepass is basically just taking your money at this point and wasting your time. It's the worst service ever. I was trying to stick around as long as I could and see if moviepass would pick up but I've just had too many problems with it. Another thing is I saw 2/3 movies in my month and it wouldn't let me see 3rd. It claimed I had already seen 3 when in fact I did not. It's a cheat. Moviepass needs to make some changes because it's super disappointing

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Do Not Enter!!!! Went from the beginning absolutely loving Moviepass...then we entered a period of constant change and turmoil beginning somewhere around the Spring of 2018. It has been a steady downhill slide ever since. At this point the subscription has been rendered absolutely useless to me for months. Movies are shown to be available in the early morning hours and then everything is shutdown when you actually want to go to the movies later in the day. USELESS SCAM

There hasn't been any supported theaters within 33.8 miles from where I live in the past 2 months. In the off chance that we are so lucky as to have a theater with showtimes, it's for a movie we don't care to see. The recent changes have crippled this service. We loved Moviepass when it was usable. When we were not limited to which movies you could see. I had it since late 2017 when we could see 1 movie a day but even so quantity isn't the issue. I was more than content with 3 movies a month but I want to see what I wanted and not whatever list you deemed it's best for a certain day of the week. Simply put, Moviepass has lost my wife and I as customers. I used to recommend it to all my friends and family. I will be now warning everyone I can of your recent changes that cause your service to go from great to useless. After all what is the point of having a subscription that you can't use?

DO NOT GET!!! The pass started out great. Was a great experience then it went down hill so fast. I wish I paid monthly so I could cancel this terrible service. Now it only has one movie half the time. The other half no movie. And more times then not when I go to check in the movie disappears. I can honestly say biggest disappointment with a business I've had.

Sooooo, it's Friday and I would like to go watch a movie and at this point I still have all 3 of my new plan movie limit still available and now moviepass thinks it's ok to not have one single movie available through the app on days and times that are popular to go to the theater. In my opinion, since the price does not change for the ticket, apparently moviepass is now controlling what days, what times, and what movies we are able to see to keep their costs down. For example, lately I've only seen showtimes for unpopular movies and at times, usually during the day, when it would be impossible for me to go see those titles. I think we all got sucked into the idea that originally was we pay one fee see whatever whenever as many times as we like. I think I may soon be pushing to get refunded very soon for the months I was unable to use the services of my membership. So, now I have to pay out of pocket in addition for a membership I am currently paying for so I may have to cancel to keep my costs down. They need to get there act together very soon. I think this nonsense has been going on long enough. It was a great idea and a great service at first which did not last very long at all. Very disappointed to say the least. 😡

I joined MoviePass when they first launched. Who would pass up on seeing one movie per day for $9.95 per month? I knew they wouldn't be able to stay in business long at that rate, but I figured I'd enjoy it while it lasts. Even if they increased the rate to $15 it is still a win. Well, they changed the movies from seeing 1 per day to only seeing 3 per month. I still didn't cancel. It was still an alright deal until I went to choose a movie, and almost none of the theaters near me are available that were available previously. I haven't been able to see a movie using this subscription since they made these changes.I am cancelling my subscription. Don't waste your time or money.

Moviepass was initially a decent product and rapidly decreased to the worse product available with this type of product. They have limited the movies you can see (which is usually 1 or 2 a day and most commonly the least popular). Not only that, but the app is absolutely frustrating to deal with. It freezes up every single time and the customer service is slower than molasses and poor. I cannot wait to somewhat get my monies worth and switch to a better company. I had my hopes up with moviepass - considering I invested and lost everything into their stock. Fix your app!!

I have not been able to successfully use my Moviepass in over two months. At every theater, for every showing, the app says "There are no move available showings today." I was totally fine with the switch to 3 movies per month, because that's still a good deal and I loved the service and wanted it to stick around. In practice, it has been ZERO movies since the switch, and I can't keep paying them for no service at all. I cancelled my membership.

I am officially finished with this app. While it worked excellently when I first got it and it was hitting the height of its popularity, once they changed the terms of service it became horrible. I tried to stick with it and be patient. It was bad enough when they limited the amount of movies you could see per month but I could understand it. But when they reduced the availability of movies per day, and then reduced the theaters and then showed available showtimes that were not available when you actually went to the theater, I started believing that this wasn't the app for me because the company was really trying to get you to not watch movies. But I *still* wanted to give it some more chances. The last two days I went to try to see *"The Favourite v at a movie theater that was 15 miles from my house and was one of movie passes preferred theaters. Out of the four shows I attempted to see over two days, I kept getting a failure message. That's it. I'm canceling my service effective today. This is the definition of a company running a terrible service.

Dev. M. Oct 14, 2018

They absolutely cannot get their business model in order. I will be canceling if they do not figure it out this month. My first month of service was excellent, the last 5 have made my subscription unusable and a complete waste of money. Across three theaters, (36 total screens) I am allowed to choose from one movie and majority of the time I'm told there are no listings available at all. The limit to 3 movies a month was supposed to remedy the extremely limited viewing options but has only worsened the subscription further. Extremely disappointed.

Den. G. Mar 28, 2019

It was great and I definitely got more than my money's worth when it was any movie a day. But then it slowly went down hill with having to photo your ticket. Limited to three a month (was actually ok with that for the price). But then the did a complete nose dive when they limited what movies you saw and the movies were never available. Now it is a scam. I held out till I was not able to see any movies for three months. Complete waste.

Hem. R. Jan 4, 2019

worked great when I signed up. paid for year subscription. I have about 3-4 months remaining. been working a lot so haven't had time to watch any in a while. I have the night off and want to catch a film, but says in app error or no more showings. looks like they want everyone to resign up for their higher pricing or turning into a scam now. can't contact anyone to ask what's going on with the app. very disappointing that I didn't get a full year as I paid for a full year up front.

Ray. L. Dec 19, 2018

the app used to be fantastic. The service used to be just as good. Lately though (since the changes in his the service works), the being a member had been more of a hassle than it's worth. I have repeatedly signed out and signed back in, and uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no avail. The customer service is fantastic and so quick to respond, but that doesn't make up for the constant issues. Honestly I believe moviepass is doing the best they can but are more than likely on their way out.
