I used the older version for a while. I've just updated it and it's just a fantastic tool for anyone studying or teaching music or anyone looking to improve their musical talent. Thank you so much.

I downloaded this app expecting another gimicky music app with few features and purpose... I was wrong. This app is used daily by me while practicing guitar as I can quickly reference new and old scales, chords, etc. Its the perfect tool to compose and have fun with; all scales, chords, and notes can be played back to you easily along with a very logical interface that facilitates learning. You have an option to view the scales, chords, and notes on a piano keyboard and also a guitar fretboard.

Interesting app with many features, but there appears to be a bug in the "scales practice" section. The little red arrow bounces around at random with the circle on circle of fifths, and selected notes will play only randomly when selected. I had the same experience after installing on two separate devices. Naturally, this is the feature I was most interested in, so...I will probably uninstall. Update: The developer sent an explanation of my "bug" comment, so I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars

this thing is amazing, extremely helpful for getting ideas out of your head, it keeps blowing my mind, the scale picking is amazing enough with the chords, but you can also study making complex chords with all terms and names in the chord library, with such a helpful table. i am still discovering new features in it and i have been a user since a few months. each option is a whole new tool, and all those tools are advanced and amazing

This is developed with love for music and aspiring musicians. (Just for the first day) Edit: After this review there was a blitz of ads, especially a lot of video ads everytime I navigate between sections, and that is too distracting. Too bad. Edit2: upon further use and discovery, I have to note that this app has an impressive set of tools.

I can easily get lost in this app as I'm still a music theory beginner. There are tons of stuff I need to learn in music theory to understand how to use this app. But still, really love it for providing so many options like playback, finding matching chords etc. Will definitely become a yearly subscriber! Hats off to the team 👏

This is great. You can't beat the price/information. Honestly, I wish I used this app more. I highly recommend spending the $2 or $3, even $5, if you're interested at all in learning guitar or piano. I have access to scales I've never heard of, metronome with tons of variations, chord library, triads, music theory, notation encyclopedia, quizzes, etc. This is a great companion to my lessons. My instructor has learned things when I showed him this app. Switches from guitar to piano too.

There are other apps out there that do the same thing, but this allows you to learn how to do the same thing except this version is nice and easy. I'm practicing on the piano right now watching this. The developer really thought this out as a music teacher who could relate to tone deaf students and Perfect Pitch students and that's why it's my favorite

Great app, very useful! The fretboard visualizer really helps instill the information and relationships of notes in your mind. I really enjoy using this app, but the ads can be too much at times. If I could remove them for a small price, I'd do it.

I knew in the reviews, your response to comments and the description this was going to be a great app. I am not disappointed and I have just begun to explore it. Great tools and comprehendible layout. I can tell this app is run by musicians/humans who truly want to give value to other musicians. They have done a lot of hard work to unlock the "codes' of music theory in layman's terms. Great so far guys... gals. Much appreciated 🎶

Amazing!!! This blew me away. I read reviews and thought give it a try. If your new to music or trying to write songs this is for you. Experienced musicians will love it. Very thorough and not overwhelming as music theory can be. Thank you for making this app!!!!

Really HAVE to give this app a 5 * rating. It's that good...and I'm usually a pretty tough reviewer. I've had this on my Android device long enough to fairly rate it. Get this one -- has everything -- including a playable piano, etc. -- Real Time piano CHORDS, as well as notes -- very good, solid instrument sounds...etc. WELL DONE !!!

Handy access to information. Would be a good help to beginners at applying theory. May reinstall if a paid, ad-free version is introduced. The intrusive pop-up ads are really too much, especially when they try to install apps. Chord speller should include m7b5 for the 7 chord.

Absolutely Amazing work guys..This is one of the best apps for musicians who want to keep their skills sharp anytime..I also use the app cHord ..somewhat similar..You guys can work a bit on U I and add playing the notes in arpeggios mode both in piano and guitar.. Again thanks for making such a wonderful app..I won't mind paying for it either if you come up with the necessary changes..keep us updated.. cheers.\m/

I like this app. Seems like a lot of work has gone into it. Haven't tested too deeply yet, but one thing I noticed immediately, the metronome is slightly lagging behind the chord strum. I'll edit later as I go along. Thank you 👍

The experience is truly awesome, the content is mind-blowing. As a singer, organist, music producer, or as a composer, this app gets you in totally and in all reality. It's the best and most concise music app. Use it today.

Way too intrusive audio advertising. If this is "scaled down significantly" I can't imagine how bad it has been. The app might be really good but my interest in using more features is gone.

Mar. O. Feb 3, 2019

This is a very useful tool if you already know a bit about music theory. There's currently no option to pay to disable ads, but the ads aren't overly intrusive anyway. It does have some minor bugs, but nothing critical.

Phi. H. Jun 27, 2020

One of the most comprehensive, intuative and and generous on the Market....period. I've browsed through so many chords and scales apps, and there very few that can compare with this app. Excellent job!!!

Ron. L. Jul 17, 2021

Outstanding. Has everything! Well presented, compactly arranged, easy to move about. I will use this app often. Great for beginners to understand the basics. Advanced music theory learners will find this app a joy to use.

Handy tool to have in your back pocket. More chords than you know what to do with unless you are a crazy jazz mad scientist. You won't need a lot of them but this app is great for educating yourself on sounds and notes that makes up the chords you hear in songs and scores.

Doc. C. S. Nov 27, 2021

Great app! It needs some time to get how to use it. Especially if you're a newbie in music and just starting your music education. But it has everything you need to understand musical math)

All. S. Aug 27, 2020

Pretty good app but. OMG, the circle of 5ths is backwards - it goes counterclockwise instead of clockwise. With an error as ludicrous as that. How can you trust anything else about it? Somebody put a lot of effort into programming it but ruined it going backwards.

Xen. B. Jul 8, 2021

Not sure what I was expecting but its not helping me learn. I have found out Youscian & GuitarTuna work fairly decient. Let me know if Music Companion updates I am willing to try again. (I tried this app again and the rating has increased, I really don't think the problem is with the app but my learning style) Good app, thanks for getting back to me.

Joh. D. Dec 19, 2020

I've only used a small portion of this app so far. The graph representing intervals seems to be fundamentally flawed in its layout. I understand the graph well and its explanations there are however no zeros in music intervals this will certainly lead to confusion for students learning what 1/5 is what 1/8 is 1/3 1/6 consonant vs. Dissonant diminished intervals Etc that are laid out for example on a guitar chart with numbers representative of a 13 or a sharp 13th Etc. 0 cannot represent the root
