worked great for a while. now it just says connection failed. i have troubleshooted everything over the last 2 years, after a while it started working for a few days then stopped again. seems to work 3 days out of every month. i know it is not the app or phones, as several people lose access at the same time so the issue is with the servers. if you buy harbor freight cobra cameras just plan on using them stand alone with no remote viewing capabilities.
Phone never has connection with the camera system, if I'm at home I can use the app, mainly on wifi even then. Not sure what the issue is here. At home it has good connection. At work or anywhere I can't see live feed, can't watch motion videos. Nothing. Pretty disappointing after spending so much on a security system. APP hasn't been updated in a LONG time!
All u can do is view. If u r watching an event, all u can do is pause. Not sure what they mean by "searchable" because u cant rewind, fast forward, share or anything. Even if u take the time to watch the event, if u need to see a section of it again, u have to watch the entire clip. Also events r listed oldest to newest so to look at the most recent video events, u have to scroll all the way to the bottom. All very aggravating. App is barely useful.
Many of the negative reviews of this app do not include phone models and OS. It would help the programmer to solve the issues. On my Samsung S5, this app is great. Yes, the cameras sometimes disconnect, but a check of your data connection with a camera reconnect has fixed the issue. I wish I could access the recorded files on the DVR. The alerts come after the fact and really miss a quick, unwanted person or action.
Last update screwed it up. I get immediate alerts when cameras are activated, but when you view the saved events they are not there for maybe an hour or more. Kind of useless for security purposes. This problem certainly needs an update. I emailed you. Update. I moved up from one star to four stars because the customer service was pretty good and helped me solve my problem. Still the notification process is a little lagging.
Can not recommend this app. Having the same issues as the other reviewers are reporting. Android Galaxy phone for me. I get the alerts of motion detected and a lot of them and they just keep building up. It will say connecting and then within a minute it says Connection Failed. Camera system itself is working fine. Need to fix your bug issues.
Didn't even get to open it! First time THAT'S ever happened. I installed the app on my note 8, went to find the shortcut, & couldn't. It was NO WHERE to be found. Not on my home screen, or app list?!? Anyway, I had to get creative... opened play store back up & confirmed that it "installed". This is also the one and only place I could choose to uninstall, or... opened the app from here and it crashed and burned 5 times in a row. Brought me right back to play store..... UNINSTALLED end of story.
App works great for me! no issues or problems! I've had the app and system for over a year. Anytime it tells me cannot connect I've found if i unplug and replug the camera system itself connection problem is fixed immediately. i do wish i could save the entire video and not just screenshots also being about to view all cameras at once would be great instead of switching different views individually would be great!
I loved it at first. But eventually when I would go to view event it started showing no results found. Ugh then next time it would show the events. I work several jobs I need to check on my house. I'm not to great with electronics but this did such an awesome job practically doing it almost by itself. I really like it alot. Please let know if I'm doing something wrong.
Been using for over a year now. Havent had any issues. Occasionally it has troubles connecting to cameras but that could be my wifi? One thing I'd change is how the files appear. I would rather the more recent files appear on top. I dont like having to scroll all the way to bottom to see new files.
Used to work great on my samsung galaxy s8, then several months ago it just stopped sending me any alerts on my phone. I have checked the settings and notifications are allowed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it still doesn't work. Kind of a useless app if it doesn't notify me when the camera has been triggered. super frustrating!
It has stopped sending notifications all of a sudden to my Kyocera Duraforce 2 Android device. No fix has worked. Notifications were working fine for movement until about 3 days ago then it stopped sending any notifications. Need a fix but I'm assuming there isn't one as other reviews I've located here also reference the same issue with no reply from development.
App worked ok about 85% of the time for a few years. A few months ago it started getting worse then it would not allow me to turn the alerts on and off which makes the system useless when you leave home and aggravating while at home since the alerts would not stop. The December update fixed that for a while and now if I try to access the settings the app just freezes up. This needs to be fixed immediately as I can not use the system. My Mom's system is even worse. Yes I'm constantly rebooting it
so I believe I have found the solution to some of the problems!!!!!! if you have yournetwork setting on your camera set for static ip, it will not connect, or stay connected! if you switch it to dynamin ip it will connect as it is supposed to! took us like 2 weeks to figure this out!!!!!!!!!! ugh! idk if it came with the wrong setting but it was the source of all of our connection issues!
This security system and app is my safety system, but it's unreliable. Camera itself is good, but is going back to Harbor Freight, bc this app is unbearable. You can't fast forward or rewind in the app. Additionally, it often doesn't load video events within 12 hours. Most of the time live feed works. This app and camera has failed me at critical moments, because the camera doesn't record it (despite that it goes off with every sway of a tree branch) or the app glitches.
I have been using these cameras for several years but since the last few updates the app has not worked very well. I am connected and online, yet most of the time when I try to view events, it says no results found. If I do a search then sometimes the events will come up, sometimes not. Live view, speakers and snapshot all work fine. I have done all fixes suggested but the app still does not work like it used to before the December update. Very frustrating.
