I want to watch a soccer match starting in the second half. I launch the game. Even though I have watched about 70 min, it starts at the beginning. I guess where I am on the timeline. I get 3 min of ads. The game plays for 10 seconds, then I get 3 min off ads. The game starts then goes to a "will resume shortly" msg. I guess the start point again, three more min of ads. Easily takes 10 min to resume watching. I have quit trying many times. Horrible.
Don't even think of touching FF or RW because you will have to watch 2-3 min of commercials EVERY SINGLE TIME! This happens even though the 3 hour Olympic marathon sessions don't have guide points to FF to, so you have to guess the start of each section of the event. Also, pray your so doesn't unexpectedly reset because then you'll have to start all over again. If your watching replays, the app doesn't remember what you have watched, so you'll need to keep notes as you go.
App is slow and repeatedly will sign out of my TV provider, having me re-login to watch content, this happens at least once a week. When I do get content going on my phone (typically EPL soccer) I get about 1 minute of good stream before the application cuts off 70% of the screen and zooms in on the top left corner, making it practically impossible to watch anything. These issues have been going for over a year and no changes from the developers
Update one year later: Still such a bad app. Everything is submerged in an excessive amount of ads, and sometimes the actual content doesn't even load successfully. Prev Review: It is just such a clunky app. You'd expect them to make it nice and smooth given it is a key app for watching the Olympics, but it really is a brutal experience overall.
Cannot cast premier league games from the app and have not been able to do so for years, through multiple versions of the terrible app. The adds always works (which play when you start casting, even if you're already watching live directly from your phone) but then the actual feed of the live game does not work. Cannot cast premier league games. Stupid app.
I use this app primarily for the Olympic coverage considering NBC has a strangle hold on it. I have to say that this app is downright terrible. I spend more time watching advertisements than I do watching actual live coverage. I cannot tell you how many times I've missed athletes, especially ones from the United States due to ads. Its unbelievable....you can't even start watching coverage until you watch at least 7 ads. Then once you get to the coverage you are just sent back to watch more ads
Only made it through about a day of watching the Olympics on this app. If you watch the entire event from start to finish you may be fine. If you go back and skip to a certain time, forget it, 5 commercials play, followed by 20 seconds of the event, followed by another 5 commercials, then it jumps back to earlier. What a waste of time to watch anything using this app. At least NBC made their advertising money off me.
This app exists to spam you with ads. You get ads when it opens. It crashes, you watch more ads. The sport goes to commercial you watch ads, switching back to live sport app crashes watch more ads when you open it....more ads. Less than one star.
Can't watch anything live all of a sudden (and I see others have the same problem). Once you choose your cable provider it just fails to load anything. So frustrating. Used to work great. Tried reinstalling etc. Nothing fixes it. How can a company as big as NBC get it so horribly wrong?
Alright 2 for 2. Tried watching the Olympics on peacock and you need to subscribe AND will still include adds. Tried watching the Olympics here. You get a 30min clock to which you need to provide you TV subscription to prove you can use their services. The point of the Olympics is to bring the world together and set our differences aside. Anyone should be able to view it with adds. Congrats NBC, you missed the point and your corporate greed is showing. Way to turn the Olympics into a cash grab.
What a failure. App constantly crashes. When I finish reading an article and press the back arrow, it takes me all the way back to the first article in the list. Updates don't improve a thing. I miss the old Profootballtalk app. This is a frustrating disaster.
I'm trying to watch the Olympic replays and every time I try to forward the video to find where I left off I have to watch 5 ads. At this point I have seen over 40 ads and nothing of the competition. Also the videos are "divided" by athletes and not by groups.
I haven't used the app much yet, but have had a very positive experience so far... Would like to see more live content for free just from a variety standpoint.
This app is schizophrenic. It doesn't honor rotation lock, and constantly switches between landscape and portrait mode. If you want to watch horizontally (eg when lying down) it just won't work.
Lots of issues... Crashes often, constantly get a message saying there is a problem connecting to the network... It's the only app I have problems with. This app used to be so good... But not so much anymore.
Freezes constantly. Most recently was trying to watch the Tottenham game and it would randomly switch to Olympic re-runs. Would have to kill the app, go back in, and repeat every few minutes.
Pretty sloppy programming. This should let me watch Cubs versus Sox but insists that I don't subscribe to that channel I do and for the price I pay Comcast I expect a hell of a lot more.
Does not work with Chromecast. Always says error 909, and just doesn't cast. So frustrating
Watching works fine, there's a half hour limit for free use, sometimes hard to find specific sports.
This app freezes in the middle of live games and has no way to refresh the stream when it does. And the most infuriating part is when you press back and restart the stream, it makes you watch an ad. Even though it's live TV and I have a paying subscription. Really terrible experience to have to reload streams like this and be forced to sit through an ad just to fix an issue with the stream.
What a fall from grace this app has take Sports Talk... I used to be able to read the content with ease, but now the user experience is simply horrible. I am reading an article and it simply cuts off, I can't scroll any further. The way to go from article to article is worse. I am not a person to complain, but man, this is not the app that I used to log on everyday for content.
The developers probably have to provide the option to change the tv provider in a menu just as they have it on the NBC app. This will help others correct any mistake if one mistakingly tried to sign in with a wrong provider. My software is stuck with the wrong provider because I mistook the tv provider with my network provider. Otherwise the app is fine.
