Although the app itself works well, it dramatically slows down the OS and all other apps, even when the app itself is closed. It is probably caused by its background services that run constantly. After uninstalling the app, the performance went back to normal. I'm using Samsung's current flagship Galaxy S9+, which is quite performant. And I remember the same thing with NBC app was on my old phone as well.

Disappointed in the update. Missing the ability for constant display of current temp on phone notification bar as before. With the lack of color and extra white space, the text in various shades of black and grey are now smaller and harder to read at a glance and could benefit with a larger font. Also, have had several glitches in the "Discover" tabs menu for more stories- i.e. under Weather & Entertainment, hockey and baseball sub categories appear at random times & Live TV option is also gone.

They have ruined a great app with the new and improved version. After the update I can no longer choose to have the weather as the primary screen. The weather radar used to be spot on accurate and now it is no longer very accurate. I was standing on a golf course in pouring rain and was looking for how long the rain was going to last and radar indicated that there was no rain. The forecast radar is just blobs going across the map. Can I just get the old app back?

Overall I like this app very much! I am a big fan of NBC Chicago news, we watch it every day! I love that the app has the same weather and news on my phone. My only very slight complaint is I can't update the local weather without opening the app. Sometimes I just want the local temperature without any other information. This is one of the apps I have on my stratus bar all the time!

Before the recent update, this was my favorite news app. Now it's my least favorite. I used to get all the latest news LOCALLY, before most of the other news apps, and I used to get the weather on my Note 10+ drop down menu. Now, I seldom get the updated LOCAL news, and no longer get the weather in my drop down menu. This option is also not available in your settings to be changed. The majority of the LOCAL news that I get now is the Olympics news. Please change your app back!

Last update renders it unusable on my tablet. The weather screen displays 2/3 radar, 1/3 temp and 10 day forecast. I appreciate your wanting to justify your expense for the fancy radar, but I can't assess the temp and rain forecast for the day by looking at the radar map. The news and other sections let you split the pane to left or right, but there's no way to do it on the weather screen, So irritating, can't even scroll the day's temps without it wildly over scrolling. Ugh.

I previously rated the app 5 stars but have lowered the rating due to the latest update. I understand the reasons for applying the advertisement but don't put it over the radar screen! You should keep it like before where it was below the radar. The advertising bar makes it hard to review the radar without needing to change the view.

App was great until the latest update. There is no longer a setting to show the temperature in the status bar with current conditions and to quickly launch the app to see more weather. The settings menu is much harder to find now.

The most recent dropped the option to put access to the app from the status bar. I am so disappointed about this. The app is great for forecasting Chicagoland weather, but I want quick and easy access along with that great weather firecasting!

Very helpful app. Unlike other local news apps, this app is never down. The weather alerts are great, it gives a heads up when rain is within 5 MI. it also givess alerts on the latest breaking news, which saves time from having to sift through everything on your own.

Disappointed in the developers not responding to questions by email. Anybody figure out how to delete all the alerts that many are useless? Otherwise it is just average app that continues to push video even if you have it turned off.

I used the iOS app for a long time for weather, and it was awesome. The Android app, though, does not let you choose whether or not you want to see the future radar product. So you must always watch a loop of 3 hours of past radar and 7 hours of future model. Really annoying

Could not turn off Olympic notifications. There is a setting to turn them off, but they just keep coming. Even turned off sports notifications, but they still keep coming.

Other than the dark mode, this new redesign is terrible. It's hard to made setting changes and they've removed the ability for the current temp to be displayed in the status bar.

Maybe I'm missing something, but not very user friendly. And when it is literally pouring, it'll say current precip is 0%. When it gives notifications on my phone like "rain will begin in your area in...." and I tap to find out the rest, I can't see the message

The reason I'm giving it 2 stars is the change in the radar. I hate the blue radar dot. It's hard to read. I also miss the earthquake feature. As far as the news it doesn't seem to update alot.

I use to love this app and now they have ruined it with the update. The main reason for the previous version of the app was for the weather and radar alerts. Not the have focused the app towards the rest of the news. I've uninstalled it and will see what the other networks app's are like. Good bye Brant Miller and Andy Avalos.

I love the channel 5 app. It's easy to use and they are always right on top of any breaking news stories and the weather notifications are very helpful to me and my family. I think channel 5's app is something you should check out!

Extremely poor performance when using push notification links to stories. Almost never responds to homepage button commands. Only thing it's good for is weather and emergency story alerts

I like the NBC 5 Chicago app because it's very handy when you need to see the news on the go when your not at home. I like listening to it through my Bluetooth earphones and or my car's speakers too.

I use this app for my local news all the time. They have everything I'm looking for. The only thing that bothers me is that when you play a pre-recorded video it plays an unrelated one right afterwards so you need to close it right away. Other than that it's so good that I use it daily.

I was in Vegas and I kept getting get alerts from home I think that was awesome. I'm happy to be able to know things about my beautiful Chicago. I honestly feel this app helps our chicago people so much . thank you so much been watching you guys since I was in grammar school now I'm 42. crazy ha

Good app. It hasn't crashed or hogged memory. I would like to see a few tweaks here and there in the weather report, but overall, I like the changes.

What. Rap. My kids and I wanted to watch Chicago first night. Instead we got a bunch of mediocre singers playing games hardly got to see any fireworks or any type of celebration because I focus on a big bottle of wine. What a rip off I'm never downloading NBC app again.

Since the last update, I cannot get to the content of a posted article when viewing from Facebook...please fix asap. I hate to not be able to read the stories.
