Probably one of the only games I will ever rate 5 stars. Fluid gameplay, can play in short or long spans. Just fun really. If you are an older returning player, just stick to the old graphics, still look better for the game itself in my opinion. The only problem I have is that all teams in the same division will act the same. Norwich will play as well as Man U if they are both in the Premiership, which does take away some realism as there is no change between matches apart from random events.
More frustrating than challenging. I played 3 seasons and just quit when relationship levels were in the tank and going no where unless I bought ridiculously expensive energy drinks to build them back up. And why the heck would an "art sculpture" degrade and cost money to keep up?? I loved the flash game on the desktop, but what makes the app does not do it justice. Aside from near impossible ball control for fat fingers- the ball flight on screen angle changes is inconsistent (crossing shots)
A fun and intuitive game that allows you to play some simple football and make it part of an actual life. A classic. It may be old, but it's still great fun if you use it correctly, and stick to it. Classic mode allows you to have an old-school and more simplistic feel to the game and I love the game design. So Nostalgic, brings back so many memories. Just a great game overall.
The game itself is great, the gameplay, how you have to save your energy, and to max out the game with achievements you have to play at least for 20 years, which is a long time that makes it even more addictive. However if you have a lot of power (50-60+) and try to pass the ball mid-air to a teammate, it will bounce off from them, and if they can catch it (which has a low chance since the enemy is x2 faster), your rating will still fall for no reason. Plus some teams' difficulty are really easy
The most bothersome problem is that ads don't always show, and even when they do, they only give rewards about 30% of the time. I remember playing the old flash version on PC and loved it. Another problem which I didn't experience back then is sometimes the finger used to direct the ball might not be the suitable finger for tapping on the ball immediately after. Perhaps introducing a slight delay may be better.
Alright here's the thing with this game, it actually can be very fun and addicting. However the game looks unpolished. The ads are definitely a problem. There is no warning to them coming up and there's no timer most times to see when it's over. It even installed something without my permission. As to the soccer mechanics, it's hard to impress when you cant control the game or your team. You miss by a cm and it's over for you. I don't have an issue with the energy system though.Just needs polish
Game is enjoyable to play when you first start out, working your player up through the ratings. However, it becomes far too easy to beat teams and you can easily go through a season without losing a single game. Also, there is no correlation between the league a team is in and how well they play (you can easily beat a premier League team with a bottom league team). I've effectively completed the game now (bought everything in the store etc), need to make the game harder and add more challenges.
Fun game but frustrating. Too often feels like one step forward 3 steps back. A bad interview can almost completely wipe out a perfect game. Random mishaps set your skills back far too often. Feels like things happen solely to slow down your progress. I understand there needs to be a challenge but when it's at every single turn it gets old. Very fun but also frustrating at times.
We need a social media thing where you can post status about stuff it will make the game more realistic, the stuff in the game is very limited and I can't see my teammates on any screen we need a team sheet or something to check out the squad. But none of the less it's very addictive but it needs to add new things that we can do in the game to expand our imaginations that won't make the game that boring but overall it's a very good game.
Great game. I have played New Star Soccer since it was a pc version back in 98. Was better on the PC without the interaction of passing the ball or shooting. More fun when it was basic and quick. Major downside was I refused the ads preference and it wouldn't leave me alone. The box popped up 10 times. I have uninstalled it as it is unplayable due to the dialogue box. Shame. I loved the game!
Very good game, played it years ago when it was just a one time purchase. Gameplay is varied enough to be fun for many hours and the visuals are fantastic. My only two issues with the game are, I think energy needs to refill much quicker, I had to play the first 5 seasons on low work rate just so I had enough energy to play every game. And secondly I think the focus maybe needs to be less on the "happiness" aspect, it's a football game at its core, there's no need for it to be bogged down.
The game is a lot of fun and there's potential here, but it too often feels like hard work to maintain your player and you do feel like the game nudges you toward spending more money. The very frequent ads are frustrating and break the immersion too often. Stamina depletion/regeneration is, again, geared toward spending real money. Skill points should not be randomly lost as much as they are. And please, get rid of the damn wind! It affects the flight of the ball far too much.
This game is fantastic! Simple layout, easy to jump right on and play, yet takes awhile to truly "master" the game. Working on technique and developing skills is fun. I'd like to see more information about clubs and other leagues, particularly when transferring clubs. But nonetheless, 5 stars. It even works when you have no cell network! Bravo!!
The game itself is amazing, used to play it a while back and thought I would play again but it's the ads... having ads, fine, but 30 seconds long, cant be skipped and you get them very very often. I would have thought there wouldnt be many ads when there are already in app purchases. I just feel like the you should be able to skip ads after 10 seconds when there are sooo many, just a suggestion
This game is fun to play, and it is challenging to keep having good results. There should be a way of recharging energy over time, or have a sleep option, if not you need to keep drinking and buying more drinks. I am also unhappy that since I bought the no-ads pack, I don't have the option anymore to gladly watch special ads in order to gain some more coins at the end of games, or some more energy to complete a training. This is just stupid. Very shame, since the game is actually interesting.
Its pretty good, the chances of scoring become easier and harder at the same time, and my teamates are doing bicycle kicks when they shoot, thats pretty good. Although, for the next update I suggest that you make the modern mode more realistic such as the graphics and the tension, and instead of waiting for an opportunity, we can witness the gameplay, and more cash rewards for games. It would mean a lot if you can make the player's character visible and if we can customise them. Pretty good game
Honestly, I think this game is great. Played it 4 years ago before the modern version. Have to say, I still prefer classic but it's great to even have both options. I disagree with the comments about having to pay real money. Sure, you can progress quicker if you do but I haven't and have won 3 World Player of the Year awards at 23 years old. Becoming captain is a great feature and let's you ensure your saved shots are followed up by teammates. Ads aren't a problem for me. I'm a big fan of NSS.
Decent game so far. Later edit Unstoppable 1 minute ads every 2 minutes. Basically 1/3 of the time you watch ads instead pf playing. It is better if you restart thr game instead of waiting for the ad to end. Also in season 2 the gameplay is forcibly made more difficult, the ball flies faster, team hates you manager hates you, you just cant play or gain money to advance further. Good ideas, but try to make it less difficult and stop the ads.
Great addictive game! Visual interface is engaging with satisfying enjoyable gameplay. Improvements: energy drinks and lifestyle items could be less expensive. They are incredibly unattainable as bux points can be impossible to gain enough. Some pay to play aspects regarding boots, trainers and agents. Controls can be difficult, especially when the ball is lofted at awkward angles.
It's an enjoyable game, well thought out and very addictive! I feel as if it could be a little bit more challenging though. For example you play Barcelona in the champions league, they hardly have any shots and you thrash them. You win the league over and over. Even trying to figure out whether a player was offside or not was at least a bit of a judgement call to make, but now there is a line showing you those on and off. Good game, just is a bit too easy!
the game overall is great. Once I figured out the dynamics and restarted the campaign I'm loving it. the intro was very vague and the prices and length of items is ridiculous. I hate how I have to keep buying a basic pair of boots, also you have to buy "cool" items to have a relationship and if you dont thr game makes fun of you. other than the normal over zealous attempts at normalcy the game passes the time great, especially when I have no internet and no ADS!
This game is giving me a lot of entertainment, challenging me for my best frequently, and this is good. But, also, there's some points that I feel that are missing in the game: the player should have the risk to getting injured or commiting fouls (based in his intensity of game), and could have more skills, like intelligence (to play without making fouls) and endurance (to minimize the risk of getting injured and also to decrease the physical waste while in the game).
I would be enjoying this game, if not for the adverts, which are genuinely the most obnoxious they could possibly be. I get it's free and the devs need revenue, but when a full screen ad pops up the instant before i tap the screen, and then it cannot be closed even after the ad is finished, that kills any interest I have in playing it. Fine if you don't mind it eventually becoming unplayable.
Interesting game, difficult to see how it won't be repetitive in the long run, but good concept. Problem is that you need energy to play, and you get one free (watch ad) energy pack everyday. This makes it difficult to play games and improve skills as both use energy. You get 1 coin per match and it takes 8 coins to "buy" energy in the game. In short the game is designed to give you a taste and make you pay. Personally I'm more likely to pay if I get to enjoy the game more.
Such a simple but fun game. I do give this 5 starts but I think it would be cool if you could get energy some other way, so maybe it refills overtime or being able to do something with your team that instead gains 25% energy. Also I think practice sessions should consume less energy. Maybe like one quarter of the bar. Otherwise, it's a very good game!
Fun gameplay. Only annoying part are the super high expectations. You basically have to do everything perfectly before everyone is happy. Winning the Champions league with a small team with you as a mvp can still result in a bad reputation, which is a bit frustrating. This is to stimulate you buying all these extra coins of course so you won't have that problem and can bribe your way through it ;). That being said, still a fun (but challenging) game if you don't spend any money...
It's a fun game. It's got a catchy loop and in some ways there's a real sense of progression as you play it. However, it crashes on me constantly before, during and after ads, oftentimes entirely denying me the very thing I watched it for. The energy system is busted, the NRG cans you buy in order to replenish spent energy is total nonsense. Halfway through the first season, a can of NRG cost more than your house. They sell items in-game for real money and those items only last a few seasons.
