NewsON - Watch Local TV News

The news plays for a minute or two then says "this content is no longer available (v100)" and takes me back to the main page. From there I can go back to the local news, which will play for a minute or two again, before doing the same thing. Works perfectly on my Roku, but not so much here.

This content is no longer available (v200) - is what I get with both channels that are available in my area. No matter what show/hour I select. I tested this on another phone and get the same results. Support asked me a few questions about my phone make, model, and OS version. I have not heard anything back.

I keep getting content no Ionger available (V100) then below that a countdown of about 5 to 6 seconds. Then the screen returns to that stations screen. Something is clearly wrong please fix it.

DO SOMETHING about your 9+ ads in a row here and on roku and I'll give it 5 STARS. It's hurting your app>>>I don't even want to watch it bc i have to sit thru all those ads at one time. I shut it off. Too much. Uninstalled.

The previous app worked far better with my tablet. Video quality is now very low, and I miss being able to rewind and fast forward 'live' broadcasts. Also, the map was easier to use rather than 'stations by state' selection. I now must close your app just to change broadcast channels. The new app LOOKS NICE, but that's about it. Sorry, but the previous app was a 4plus. It's now nearly unuseable. I'm now forced to look at other options/apps. Sorry, it looks like a giant leap backwards.

Best app I can barely use. The media that comes out of it is wonderful! However, there is no settings button. Casting it to a TV from my phone is nowhere approaching user-friendly and terribly difficult at best. When they redesigned the app they took away a lot of the functionality. Usually when apps are upgraded they're actually upgraded not downgraded.

Mirroring much of what has already been said, the developers took a great app and removed nearly everything that made it excellent: live DVR, Chromecast functionality, short-term archive of multiple newscasts, the list goes on. I wish I could understand what made anyone think these changes were a good idea, but needless to say, they're simply a bust.

I don't enjoy watching ads that allow the use of profanity, the "Nicorette Commercial" Nonetheless, I enjoy a news app that offers a wide range of news across the states. I love having the opportunity of viewing news from every major city in the US, at any given time of the day!!!!! The news is fairly current, informative and very interesting, I can control when I choose to view. I would however, love to see each state broadcast live, Thank you, NewsON!!!!!!

Latest update completely changed app. Landscape mode is only one way can't be switched if I turn my phone the other way. That's just bad programming of user interface.. Ads now take over significant processing power, resources, and much more intrusive. Used to love this app, now it's one of those apps you just want to uninstall (after 2 years of using it) because it's lost its value.

The previous 1.6.1 version was great - worked with all my devices, HD quality, you could watch newscasts from the current or previous day, and you could cast to your Chromecast. Now the quality is terrible, doesn't work with any of my devices, you can only watch the current day's newscasts, and you can't cast anymore. Why is a so-called "upgrade" such a downgrade? Makes no sense at all. I give up.

We use this app on our Rokus. Have used it for a few years, it works great, get most local stations. Biggest problem is the commercials are so much louder than the actual news anchors. And the commercial cut in is off quite a lot, cuts off a news story, doesnt always come back in where it left off.

The app is good, I haven't had problems with it. However, the stated distance is way off. My closest station is less than 30 miles, but the app says 122. This needs to be fixed. It's understandable that there are going to be breaks when a newscast goes to commercial. It's the way it is if you are streaming from the stations website.

Terrible formatting. The app shows a "Be right back" message during the local channel commercials and then cuts into the broadcast to play its own commercials or even the "Be right back" message. So you only get a fraction on the actual content. And the commercials are really loud, so I'm always adjusting the volume.

Takes a very long time to load often (even with a very strong internet connection)..This app often states that there is no breaking news or news at all, and it loads a blank screen. The news in general isn't a reliable source of information, and neither is this app. Youtube is still my go-to place for news clips that matter.

Always an error when playing ANY channel. It has been months now... time to find something else to watch the news on.

This app still has some horrible glitches, this morning I tried watching the last recorded broadcast and I had to stare at a blue screen for 12 minutes before it actually started. Then, it cut off half way through so I got to watch maybe 10 minutes of it. They seem to be trying, but when they fix one thing, they create Two more, it's ridiculous.

I really like the app but eversince the recent update, I am not able to Chromecast on both my Android and Apple devices. I also cannot rewind or fast forward on live streams anymore. I rely on both these features because of my vision and in case I missed a segent or misheard what the anchors are saying. Please bring back and I will rate higher. Thanks!

Was a good app, until it wasn't. Can't watch the news here, so what is the app for... For the past month I have been getting an error message and nothing has been done. Sadly, I'm going to have to delete app.

It looks good, and it starts good, but after about a minute of watching the news it says content not available and quits.

Was suggested in some recent article. Terribly disappointed in available local (and I live near LA) stations. Gave me nothing but ad after ad for the first minutes (from the app, not on-air). No settings available for anything! Even milage to station cities from me was often incorrect! Good quality video with little buffering was only redeeming feature.

Used to be a perfect way of getting the news, now it says content no longer available after streaming for 15 seconds.

I have no issues with this app. It works amazing on my phone. I also use it on my roku. I love it

This app for the Roku is horrible. The app interrupts the news with commercials ahead of the normal breaks in the programming. When the normal breaks in the programming take place, your stuck watching a "We'll be right back after this break" splash screen. Viewers would be better served buying an indoor antenna, or downloading the app from the local affiliate to watch the morning news.

They just lost the one station I was using the app for which was WABC in New York. There's also no feedback option on the app itself. However, if you're from anywhere around the country want to keep up on your local news it's a great app. Please bring back a New York City station soon

Can't use my cell's screen record feature with the News On App to record my on air checks. It allows sound, but records a black screen. It initially allowed me to record the screen upon app install, but later discontinued that privilege. Not sure why. I am trying to record my own stories for electronic archiving purposes.

The advertisements play any time you use the application. The news only plays some of the time. Of course the ads run first, then you find out that the news won't. Now its even worse. I spent 20 minutes trying to watch a news show and about every 30 seconds there was an ad for a Jumamji board game. When the ad was over and you unmuted or turned the volume back on it triggered the Jumanji ad again!!!!
