This app is just amazing. The content quality is mind-blowing, it has an endless choice of trainings with various durations, focus or difficulty levels. And to top it off, it's free and not pushing commercial messages! I've been using it for 9 months (and counting!) and it's become part of my daily routine
I like the personalised work out plan, but the app can be very glitchy (started a workout, it didn't show me the time remaining for each rep and it didn't switch to the next one). Overall user experience could also be improved (I had to SCROLL NUMBER BY NUMBER from 400 to set my weight. Also need an option to use the metric system for these measurements).
Hello, I keep experiencing the problem some of the users here have - the "Plan" bar is missing. This is clearly not intended, as I have friends who use both android and ios that have this function, but I do not. Could you please provide some feedback as to why this is happening to some and not to others, because it is very frustrating. Thank you
Extremely good. It's very motivating and has a beep when the timer is finished. You can get access to top athletes workouts like Cristiano Ronaldo! Brilliant app and so far no problems. You can chose your own plan and there are loads of workouts to chose from! You can also earn rewards! One of the best apps and most enjoyable I will ever use! Simply class
Super long-time user. Been using Nike Training for just under a decade. Ever since they switched their format to videos, I've been looking for an alternative. I mainly used it for yoga. I loved that the voice that came with most of the workouts was slow and soothing, and that you could play your own music with it. Now, each instructor sounds like a wannabe podcast host who speaks way too fast and too constantly for me to actually get into the mindset that helps me excel at yoga. So disappointed.
This new version is the worst. First, the previews of the workouts are gone from the workout preview. Second, the continuous video thing is a bad idea, not different from watching a YouTube video. Before I could see a list of the upcoming exercises, this is gone completely now. Third, the app logs out everytime so I have to log in each time I open the app... Please bring back the previous features and stop the continuous video format that doesn't work at all.
This is actually a great work out app. The variety of classes, different trainers and ability levels is wonderful. I removed 1 star solely because the app used to have built-in chromecast. That has been removed and now to cast, one must externally mirror the phone. Mirroring has a smaller screen, some lag, and just isn't as good. Edit: I see chromecast from the app is back! 5 stars.
The latest update is disappointing. The pictures looked better and I understand that they are trying to be like the either fitness apps, but the old interface was fare more functional. Not being able to preview the exercises and skipping exercising during the work out is not as user friendly. I also find the video streaming extremely slow (constant buffering) makes the workouts unusable. Please please bring back the previous version.
Switching to video-based workouts has rendered this app usesless. Even connected to wifi, the videos load the first 30 seconds and then fail to buffer. I've made many Nike customer service attempts. They are phone-only during working hours. Each time, they attempt to connect me to "the right department" and the phone path routes me back to general customer service. They try to connect me again in a never-ending loop. Last attempt ended in a promise to call me back, which never happened.
Update: they brought back Chromecasting, so I'm giving them a 3/5 for taking it out in the first place This app was amazing when it had Chromecast support, but then they downgraded to only having screen mirroring which has a bad aspect ratio and is too small. I can also no longer use my remote to control it. It's a shame they ruined a good thing.
Updated: Major changes in March 2022. Why did you fix something that isn't broken, and end up making it worse? The tendency of the video format to lag really kills the vibe. Previous review: Workouts are good and balanced, with reminders to maintain proper form and proceed mindfully. The recommendation algorithm can be improved: since this is a fitness app, it's better to recommend workouts based on foci or muscle groups you haven't worked on instead of workouts based on what you already do.
1. It is using a lot of data, almost 3 GB of data for a 45 min workout! 2. I really liked the old style workouts, were it will tell you, "next up mountain climbers, 60 seconds". But the newly added workouts are hard to follow. Most of ususe this app on a mobile, not every one connect it to a T.V. so can't follow along the workouts! 3. I really liked the old versions guided workout plans, but they were all gone now!
The latest update is dissapointing. I liked being able to preview workouts. Now I have to commit to a 30 minute workout without knowing what's in it. That doesn't make sense to me. A personal trainer would definitely outline a workout before starting it. Now the workouts are just long videos that probably use a ton of data. The app also logs you put frequently and the Chromecast function is gone.
Really dislike the recent changes. You cannot download workouts anymore. The video workouts actually make it harder to follow in real time since you don't know what exercise is coming up. And personally, I dislike the really peppy instructors. It's more difficult to skip exercises or go back to previous ones. The whiteboard workouts are okay for rep-based programs. But you lose the functionality for time-based workouts since there is no cue for starting/stopping exercises. Overall, disappointing
This app has been with me on my fitness journey for years and was perfect, but the March update ruined it. The new trainer led videos and whiteboard workouts just aren't satisfying or easy to use, especially with music in the background. The old format was the sweet spot and I've tried using the updated app but I can't use personal workout programs anymore so I'll probably be switching to another app.
I do believe this is a great work out app. It has its pros and cons but I think they're situational. For instance, they do add or change up work outs which is a nice refresher but that can mean your work out changes or is removed. It's an app where you adapt to it more than it adapts to you.
Been using this app for 2+ years, loved it, updated in 2022, & hated the new class + whiteboard formats - mainly because we can't preview drills anymore. I decided to give it a 2nd try (because lots of PREMIUM workouts for FREE, & no other app compares), & now I'm slowly getting used to the trainers leading the classes. Also happy that plans/programmes are back, and with more variety. 4 stars because I still would like the option to preview drills beforehand.
I really enjoy the app, is an amazing program, the teachers are awesome so as the programs, but this last version was a total disappointment, I use NTC for more than a year and now they changed everything for the worst, videos bugged, can't download anymore, just one option of class (no more fancy list of workout with instructions on the background) just a video library of online videos. NTC went from a masterpiece of app to a problematic and simple app. #BringBackTheOldVersion
Chromecast support has returned (saw a review mention that it had come and gone before, hopefully staying this time). I would like to see more workouts added regularly, but even so a good selection of options available with incredibly motivational trainers. Overall, a step in the right direction this last update!
The new update has caused more bugs than fixes. Although, I like the new workouts- the app keeps crashing or the workouts fail to load and start buffering mid workout, which is irritating and unfortunate. I religiously use both the running and training apps and bugs are ever present in both of them. Just because these apps are free (which they should be- Nike is a billion dollar brand) doesn't mean you put zero focus into correct and functional app development. Very disappointed.
Really used to enjoy this app but the March 2022 update was probably the worst one yet. The formats, class or whiteboard, are not easy to use or navigate. You can't go back to an exercise or skip to another one. You can't see some of the workouts without actually having to start the exercise. Can we please just go to the previous versions, those were fantastic. Glad to see that workout plans are back though
The most recent update changed the format of most workouts to video and I'm unable to turn off the guidance, which interferes with listening to music or a podcast. I really liked being able to see the full workout and decide based on that whether I wanted to do the workout or find another. I can no longer do that with the recent update, which is really frustrating. Please return to the old format!
The new format for exercise is avsolute dogshit. It was great before. Start a circuit, it showed you z timer and a video of the exercise. You could easily go back and forth between exercises. Now the circuits are nothing but a glorified youtube video. They've just bunched up all the tiny exercise video into one big one, removing the ease of use. Why.
