As of today, the app displays an error message when attempting to log in: "This version of the MyTix app is no longer supported. Please visit the App/Play Store to update." I'm running the most current version from April 2022. I've tried clearing the cache, forced stop, uninstalling and reinstalling but still can't log in or access this month's prepaid tickets. Please fix this bug ASAP.
The NJ Transit Mobile App is a simple and money saving tool which provide "favorite" features to allow you to quickly make purchase and be on your way. There is no annoying third party fees or delays. Tickets are reasonable and schedules as refreshed every few seconds.
Since the April 29, 2022 update, certain times of day, especially between 9PM and 11PM, the app does not work. You'll get a message apologising for the inconvenience and will end up having to send a text message to 69287 to get something close to transit info.
Overall does it's just. Haven't missed a bus since I started using it, so happy about that! However, even though the apps productivity is great and does exactly what they say it does. The entire app is rather slow most of the day. It'll freeze, log you out, be unable to reload the busses position on its route and time before it arrives becomes wrong due to the long lag that if you don't notice and restart the app until it's caught up, you could think you have more time than you do.
One star is perfectly accurate to describe this app. The trip planner feature tells you to take buses that don't exist at times that don't exist, if you key in the individual stop number then it misses buses that show up but aren't on the list. There's no easy way other than downloading a PDF to see an actual full schedule so if you're not leaving right that moment then you don't know when the bus is. The app frequently crashes and glitches. At the end of the day it's just for purchasing ticke
It's good for looking up times and buying tickets for bus, train or light rail. Only wish the tickets laster longer than 30 minutes when you activate in case the bus doesn't show or is too full to pick you up.
This app stopped working on my Samsung S20. "No access to server, please try again later" is the message I've been getting for days. No access to my tickets. Please fix! App works after update. Thank you
Mostly good, but latest version has a notification bug. When I open the app my phone starts repeatedly pinging and doesn't stop until I exit the app.
Ehhh. It's inconsistent. Whenever I'm about to board and show ticket. At times it will just ask you to sign in. But for the he past week or even weeks I would have a pop up telling you to logout and sign back in. It's the weirdest thing.
I was in NJ for 2.5 weeks. Only once was the bus ever on time, and that one time the driver closed the door in my face as I was right at the door and drove off. He still had 2 minutes before he was scheduled to leave anyway. When I used the trip planner on the app, it told me the wrong number of zones necessary for my trip, at least, according to my bus driver. Also, the bus stop I was using only appeared in some parts of the app, so it's overall functionality was limited. Bad app, bad system.
If you rely on this app to pay and display tickets to the conductor, then make sure you have a backup stash of paper tickets printed in your pocket. App has a mind of its own and frequently fails to connect, complete purchases, etc. I'm willing to overlook design issues, but stability is a critical failure.
It works ok. Clunky. You have to have service to be able to activate your ticket, which is bad design. (The LIRR app does not require that.)
You're app is not working. Says it cannot connect to server or says need to update app but no update is available. What kind of service is this?
Its easy to use but it sucks that if you activate it and the time passes when the assigned bus never shows up you lose out on the ticket you purchased my advice is to dont activate your ticket till you see your bus coming
I just recently started having issues being charged for tickets I never received. I called up and they sent me a reversal email but charged me instead a second time. I'm very frustrated! I want my money back. I usually purchase a monthly pass but couldn't afford it this month. Now I have to deal with this because I don't keep cash on me.
Horrible app. Not very easy to navigate, especially bus routes. Not all bus routes and stops are on the app so you can't purchase tickets through the app. As an example, bus route 608, Hamilton to the Trenton Airport is missing.
Solid app, I cant speak for bus riders, but very convenient options for train commuters.
So confusing for bus trips. Definitely needs an interactive map or any map so you can see the routes, stops, and zones. So hard to find the stop you need and you have to guess how many zones you go through.
If have used this app for the last two trips to the NJ area. It saves me time and worry, especially from ticket machines that malfunction or when the train arrives and you have not completed your transaction. I just wish there was a little more information on the app.
At least half the time I try to buy a ticket it doesn't work and I need to try again. Either it says the app is in "offline mode" or just gets hung up loading when trying to submit payment. Frustrating especially if you're trying to quickly buy a ticket.
Not sure what is going on but this app hasn't worked for a few days now as of 2022-03-12. Error is either "cannot connect to the server" or ćcsnt complete request' Both Android and ios apps not working. And have noticed other rail apps that use the njtransit app API are throwing up errors like "data disconnected" So i for one can't see schedules or buy tickets.
NJ Transit's mobile app has always gotten me where I need to go! I'd love to see a more robust update to the schedule especially when daily incidents shut down lines. The train tracker had been especially helpful for cutting down my daily commute.
One of the things that I purchased a ticket I activated it and it froze on the ticket and it wouldn't load the ticket and it kept signing me out saying I couldn't connect to the server and I uninstalled the app after I was able to show that I purchased the ticket and activated at least without being able to show the ticket itself to scan. I was unable to use the app ever since this happened now I cannot log into my account anymore through the app even after uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
It could be great, but the servers suck. Every other week I cannot even log in to get my tickets because of servers down. I refresh. I close app I even restart my phone. I always end up having to pay in cash when the bus comes. It's annoying!!
Ticketing works well. Bus real time arrival information is useless. buses do not show on app 80% of the time. Either the bus GPS system is down or the drivers shut it off to keep from being tracked.
Great when it works. Many connection to server error messages. I'm on the train now and will have to pay to on-board surcharge because my app ticket won't activate. Carry an emergency paper ticket with you if you plan to use this app!
App is NOT reliable to use for tickets or passes. It has issues every day. Best advice to everyone is stick with the old fashion paper passes. I would never trust this app again to purchase a monthly pass.
When there is a problem with the app, just request for a problem fix on the Contact Us tab. The app itself is not that great, but whoever does troubleshooting keeps things intact, quiet responsive.
The app is great, but is very confusing to navigate at first. After getting used to it I think it is rather nice and fairly easy to use. I'm a little bummed I cannot get a student quik tik pass using the app, but that might be for security reasons so I don't mind.
Yes, you can see train and bus times. But, when you buy a ticket and you're ready to use it, the app signs you out, even though you're never signed out, and then doesn't let you sign back in. For the last 20min I've been restarting my phone and the app. I've even done a hard reboot. Twice. I retyped my email and password. I did everything but cast a spell. My ticket is trapped in the app and I only get an error message stating my session has expired. Please sign out and sign back in again.
