When are they fixing the scanner?? I've had this app installed over a year and it worked perfectly. Very convenient to confirm winning tickets and double check losing tickets. Saved many trips to the store.. The scanner stopped working for me a few weeks ago .. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times and still nothing!! Very disappointing
Like everyone else, the main use for this is the ticket scanner. It no longer seems to be working. It's been several months now and it says they're updating the ticket scanner. It's almost February 2022 now and it's still not working. Even before this, there were always issues. I have an android and if I didn't scan tickets for a while, I'd have to go to Settings, then Apps, then the NY Lottery App, clear the cache and force the app to stop. Then, when I went back into the app, the scanner would work. It was annoying, but at least I could get it to work. This is no longer the case. I'm still hoping the functionality comes back soon.
It seems to take an hour to try and scan one ticket! The scratch off game app takes seconds to scan. I guess because that one is not paying out... They need to use the acan types that CT and NJ use, as those scan quickly. The stars have to be properly aligned in order for this app to scan tickets - and i have a top of the line phone!
Having the same experience that everyone else seems to be having. Used to work pretty well for scanning (with the right angle/lighting) but hasn't worked in a while and is always "being updated". Came here to see if it was just me.
Scanning feature not working. 404 error. Seems to have camera control (focus) issue also. And it's not being resolved. Every East Coast State's (NJ-FL) lottery scanner's working ... So I need to question... to NY Lottery IT folks, How accurate was the scanning when it was working? When it's fixed, I'll give more stars!!
Number scanner works occasionally, the rest of the functions are pretty much useless. The same is true for the computer version. I've emailed the lottery and they don't respond. I spoke to a lottery representative and they were helpless in that the person said they have a hard time hlgerting support.
Also experiencing the scanner no longer working, which is my primary use for the app. Unacceptable - as an IT QA guy i can confidently say "this should never happen", especially not for an entire day - an entire week makes me extremely concerned about their general competence with handling of coding and environments. Yikes! I'll stop buying lottery tickets until this is fixed and i can scan the ones i bought.
Like everybody else the scanner was not working. I discovered if I log out and log back in the scanner works. The only annoying thing is you must log out and log back in When you want to scan tickets. Not after each ticket , But if you haven't scanned a ticket in about 15 minutes you need to log out and in again.
The app scanner hasn't worked In a VERY VERY long time! You really need to fix this or if you are planning to discontinue the app just post about it. I see 98% of the reviews are about the scanner and no update from you guys. People have they app for the scanner fix it or just take the app down!!
App used to function. It wasn't the best, but you could eventually get it to scan a ticket. Now scanning only yields a 404 error about failing to connect to the server. Until this is fixed, don't waste your time.
The best thing about this app was that you were able to scan your own tickets without going to the store. For some reason it isn't available anymore it's been saying it's updating the scan feature for quite some time now. Very disappointing
I downloaded this app so that I would be able to scan my lottery tickets and not have to stand in long lines. Unfortunately the latto scan on the app has been updating for the last 4 months and months and We are unable to use this feature, please update the app so that what we downloaded for can be used for.
Everytime I install this app to scan my tickets, it says scanner is being updated. Tried several times over the past year and same thing. Obviously this scanner never works so if your downloading this to scan your tix dont waste your time. Uninstalling...AGAIN!
The app will no longer scan tickets. It was always hit and miss but completely failed after last update. Not being fixed because New York Lottery doesn't care about quality products even when their name is all over it!
Used to work pretty well for scanning tickets but *server not available* for about a week now... Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but didn't help. Extremely disappointing. UPDATE: 12/21/21: Back to not scanning tickets... It was working fine for awhile, but now? Nope. App needs some serious help.
Garbage. This worthless piece of dirt lets me scan ONE ticket, then you get a 404 error until you clear data. The previous version wouldn't even scan. Absolute, complete garbage, and the developers are a disgrace.
The scan a ticket is never working. You are always "updating" the system. It's been over a month since you've been doing so. Just take the entire app down, it's useless
I've been trying to use this for past 2+ years. Continuous hiccups. Frustrating and annoying. Can't scan code. Won't shut down properly. I have little to no trust in app.
Scanner has not worked for weeks. The app states they "are currently updating ticket scan. Please visit a New York Lottery retailer if you’re unable to scan a ticket." This is unacceptable and a blatant lie; no software takes weeks to update. Do better NYS, you are failing us in every level now.
I really like this app but the headache of doing the scans even if it says you have unlimited scans is a pain as it will freeze the picture constantly then you press scan and again it freezes now it won't scan At All I even tried reinstalling it same thing it's updating 404 can't scan at this time I will be taking it off for good.
Scanner doesn't work. Whats the purpose of the app if the most important component doesn't work.
12/25/2021 The app has not scanned for several days, only returning a "404" error. If the app is, in fact, being discontinued, please advise us so we don't waste any more time or resources on it. If it's going to be repaired then please give us an eta. Hundreds of feedbacks & reviews have apparently gone unanswered. Thank you Previous review updated 7/15/2019
Had this app for well over a year (maybe two?) and able to scan tickets with no problem. Stopped working TWO MONTHS ago, saying that it was temporarily unable to connect to NY Lottery. I was patient; I work in IT and I know how things can get FUBAR and have to scramble to fix it. Tried it a week later. Two weeks later. A MONTH later. Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled several times; It's now been over two months not working--and the app really doesn't have ANY purpose other than to scan tickets. Really--who uses it for anything else??? If the primary purpose of your app stops working, you get your IT folks on it PRONTO. To have it not work for MONTHS on end is just flat out incompetent and unacceptable. Bad job, NY. Bad job.
I was gifted a new android phone and STILL this horrible app NEVER works or it's ALWAYS CURRENTLY BUSY UPDATING CURRENT LOTTERY SCANS. What is the point of this app's existence if I have to go into a store to have my lottery tickets always scanned in the store!!! It has been years since this app has ever worked properly. If I could give it 0 stars I would but for the sake of posting this review I had to give it some kind of rating to get my review on here!!!
I've been having a lot of problems with the app. For months straight I can't scan my tickets. Can someone tell me what's wrong. When I scan a ticket is telling me that you're updating the system. I emailed you guys but no response.
I love that we can scan and it'll tell you how much you won. Best feature ever. Also the scanner is actually working contrary to the other reviews. I've been using it for a month now.
This app was really handy for scanning tickets, but now that function doesn't work..... A lot of people now have to be isolated due covid and it would be so helpful to just scan tickets at home.... I am really dissatisfied and disappointed with this app now....
This app worked a year or so ago and i went to use it again a year later and i keep getting a error saying my device can't read and to take to a retailer. I have a galaxy s9+ it's not a new phone by no means.
As with most of the individuals who gave this app low ratings and negative reviews, I too am very disappointed in the current performance (🤔🤣) of the ticket scanner. I was so hopeful when I saw an update was available, but all it seems to have done is take up space. I don't understand how something can work nearly flawlessly for over a year and then just flake out, apparently never to work again. @NY Lottery, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE fix the scanner!
