OkCupid Dating

OkCupid was promising at first. Great question system, letting you screen through profiles based on personality. However, the business model creates a "window shopping" experience, at best. You get many likes, but the algorithm will ration them to make you pay. The lack of scarcity creates conversations that'll lead nowhere, since the goal of the app is validation. My first match summarizes the experience : she had so many unread messages that the app wouldn't let me engage the conversation.

It's far too expensive for the subscription service. I did it for a month because I was tired of running out of likes (seriously, okc? I have to pay TWENTY dollars a month for basic functionality????) and when I canceled automatic payment it stopped allowing me to like people altogether. Only giving 3 stars because I like the match percentage system and it's the most queer friendly app I've been able to find that doesn't have a garbage UI. I wouldn't recommend if I could find something better.

This app is fine except for when it decides it doesn't want to function. I've had an entire convo just disappear for upwards of 30 mins. Only uninstalling then reinstalling the app fixed it. I went to check a match's reply and instead of showing it it erased half out convo. App is fully up to date and even resetting my phone has not fixed some of these issues.

This app is kind of scammy. I was curious, so I threw out $20 to see those "likes", and what I have found was hundreds of people in the Philippines, Africa, or other countries. However that's not where I have found where the scam comes in. All of sudden, it feels as if the profile is no longer advertised. When your subscription ends is where it gets curious. When you close and reopen the app in quick succession, you will see 1 or 2 likes added. In conclusion - okcupid must be full of bots.

The app is borderline unusable in free (you can only like 3 or 4 people!!!) & they charge $20+ for premium. Low user base means you'll quickly end up looking at people hundreds even thousands of miles away (especially if you don't live in America). The UI has become less & less useful which used to be it's selling point. Save your money & your time.

I have a paid account. I received likes and intros. Suddenly they all disappeared. Where are they? This is the last time i pay for an account. The moment i pay for the upgrade, all of my likes and intros are gone! I've uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem still occurs. I *only*use this app when I pay, so if it doesn't work when i drop $$$ on it, then it is useless altogether

Really disappointing. PHOTOS UNCLEAR. Cannot view any intro messages, cannot chat, and the 'carousel' of photos is faulty - I cannot see a full photo, so people's faces get sliced in the middle. Extremely unintuitive app, messy, overwhelming layout. Fail. // When answering mutual quiz questions, the question totally disappears every time I switch to any other app even for a second. // I LOVE the questions-quiz and the format where I can compare with people! .

This app requires micro transactions for most things now. You can't see lists of likes, messages, or read receipts of messages anymore without premium, or 1-time features now. It is very expensive for subscription, around 40-60/mo just so you can see your list of likes received! No one responds to messages? Can receive almost no likes for months. Soon as subscription lapses, have half a year's worth in 2 days...and over half of all likes will be scams from other countries.

Not that good of an app. U can swipe all u want but no chance of actual communication unless your paying. Banned for no reason or because someone didn't like what I had to say.. this app didn't make sense with matching. I'd see a match of over 90% and when I checked, there were only 11 answers to go off from.. how does that get you such a high percentage? Have to pay to see likes and need to respond to messages listed first before being able to see other messages.. waste of time really.

I repeatedly have matches disappear, which I would normally assume they just unmatched me. Except I keep getting notifications that they sent me a message, but I don't even see their profile in my matches any more. Also repeatedly get notifications that I matched with someone or received an intro, but then there's nothing there. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the app or if people are really matching with me just to unmatch me 5 minutes later before I've even opened the app.

- Day 1, got a ton of likes from people thousands of miles away. Not sure if they're looking for money or what but this really needs moderating. - Thankfully there's a "hide me because I'm getting unwanted likes" feature... which costs extra. - You can sign up for premium on the app but need to use a browser to cancel. This may have been a good platform at one point, but it does not seem like one now.

I miss the old OkCupid. I get that they have to make a profit, but they are squeezing too much. I miss when you could see the match ?s filtered by category. I also hate the swiping. I liked okc before because you could know so much about someone if they'd taken the time to fill out there profile, but its just gone downhill, lots of technical issues and slow response time from customer support. Also, the app just doesnt have enough people. I ran out of matches in a few days.

Amazing match making system that really works. But the UX is so frustrating! Why is there massive button to "add photo" in the way in text editing area which is only two lines? Now they added a super like button that COVERS PART OF THE PROFILES SELF SUMMARY!? Also when swiping you still cannot even see any woman's face lol. We need to be able to see their entire profile and swipe left or right on it. It's not complicated! They keep cramming more and more junk onto the screen.

Really annoying when trying to swipe through and the pushy super like add keeps popping up, and the button you could likely push to make it go away is below the bottom of your screen because the developer clearly hasn't scaled the app properly for Android. Go to report the bug and every time I click contact us it just loops back to the bugs report page. Useless
