EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Designed to help people heal from traumatic or distressing memories, EMDR has helped many people suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, and everyday stress.

OpenEMDR was created to allow people to explore the benefits of EMDR therapy on their own, and determine if EMDR therapy is right for them. This tool is not a replacement for professional therapy, and users are encouraged to consult with a trained therapist to get the full benefit of EMDR.

Love the app, nice and simple. My psychologist uses it on her tablet and it works fine, but it doesn't work on my phone. I would like to tell more details and resolve this issue with the developer if possible. :)

I feel this app needs strongly to add sound options also. As a certified EMDR therapist, this being available would greatly increase its clinical application and can support people where using your eyes is not possible. If this was done it would be fantastic

I have done EMDR with a therapist. I found it helpful, but don't want to make appointments whenever something comes up in my mind. The short sessions help me to put aside my distressed feelings about an event and help me to move forward in my thoughts without being stuck so much. It leaves me feeling peaceful and able to plan how to work towards clarity.

As an EMDR therapist, I believe this can work in landscape mode and speed and length of processing time are individually determined by client and therapist. Processing should only be done in conjunction with a real time therapist in person or online.

I'm not sure what I'm telling myself while this eyemovement is happening. I don't want to mess myself up more with false self talk I don't realize I'm doing

Best EMDR app w/o ads and no intrusive permissions! Plus open source. Awesome. Does what it says in description. If you have had real EMDR or seen it done, this app is easy to use. Otherwise check reliable sources online for info before using it, so you do it correctly. Best done w/a counselor (some PTSD exercises before use of this, may be needed). But this helps too. I write a text file on the event (s) and have AI Reader read it aloud w/text to speech while using this. It helps.

The timer should be visible during the session because you're supposed to spend the last five minutes with opposite thoughts.

Simple and clear app! I have one feature request: picking custom colors for the shape and background instead of fixed themes.

Very good an user friendly app for self EMDR. Works very well. My only future request would be if this app could cast the picture to a bigger screen via a native chromecast option. Great work so far, keep up the good work.
