The absolute worst application I have ever installed on my phone. I am an IT technician that specializes in home theater. This application is invasive. This application is convoluted. When installed, this application, forces ads to pop up on your phone even when the application is not running. These ads can interfere with other applications that are currently running. Oftentimes, the application will lose connection with the television for no reason. It will become unresponsive, randomly.
I wish I had a different option than this app. We lose our remotes constantly so it's a necessity. I updated the app and now it has horrible pop up ads that interrupt everything; phone calls, other apps even my lock screen. plus it drains your battery. I hope to find another app to use for our TV's so I can get rid of it. before it had ads while you were in the app which I was fine with...... but this is horrible!
It reinstalled itself after I deleted it and its save data. I deleted it originally because it took over my phones lock screen when I didn't want it to. It also kept opening up when I unlocked or turned on my phone, didn't want or need it to. It is an app that seems to take over your phone, and do things you didn't want it to. The remote part also kept popping up in the middle of me doing things like texting or playing games.
I don't know how it works as a remote and I never will, because it's the most obnoxious spambot I've ever seen in my life For anyone who can't uninstall it because it came as built-in bloatware on your phone, go into the app's settings in Application Manager and tap "Disable" or "Turn off" (depending on which Android version you have). Very appropriate, because this app is a real turnoff.
This app WAS great for those who are too lazy to reach the remote or keep misplacing their remote. Until the ads became absolutely and annoyingly unavoidable. They'd show up on my lock screen and even though I toggled all the options to display ads off (was supposed to be for 30 days) it came back up in no less than 10 minutes later. I cleared the data and uninstalled it. Developers, kindly fix this issue please.
It used to be a good app, but now its extremely annoying with full page ads at any time on even the lock screen. They will pop up at the worse times when you in the middle of something. Then there is the "set your top box" etc pages which show up and CANNOT be dismissed. You have to click homw to take it off and that will also close the app you were already working on. Uninstalled!!
I used to really like the app. Until this last update. The previous ads were annoying but not so much that I couldn't use my phone. Not the case not. Your ads are popping up appropriately every 30 seconds. I can't do anything on my phone. The ads even play when I'm on the phone. Not cool when you're having a conference call. Fix the app. Do not do updates the hijack a person's complete use of their phone.
Annoying. I'm still not sure what this does exept show random ads and glitch out my phone. I have found no use for it and everytime I press "uninstall" it either says "open" or "update", but I am sure it's something that can be fixed if I try something different. Overall: Kinda pointless, it's literally a guide for a remote with annoying ads. (Note: I tried updating then uninstalling but that didn't work. Whoever made this can you like, not.) Pls fix.
App came bundled with Samsung Galaxy S4 active. Highly Invasive advertisements for what should be a remote control app. Older app versions were much nicer that came with the Galaxy s4 active. After revisiting an old phone and updating the old software to current software I'de rather program and install my own remote application to avoid any ones developed by peel unless things change to a significant degree. Its, not worth the headache of constantly seeing and dodging advertisements while trying to look for the power button on the application's remote, nor is it worth dealing with advertisements when trying to unlock my phone each time. There are also notifications that can be disabled as well that can be disabled in the app for at most 30 days. There are some work arounds, but I lost software trust with peel.
This app is a scam. Once you install it, there is NO WAY to uninstall it. I uninstalled it over a year ago, it's nowhere on my phone that I can find, and it still sends notifications that take control, locking my phone with pop-ups, that won't go away until I make one of its choices to get it off the screen. I've Emailed them and they did respond saying they would "put in a ticket" and get back with me, but they never did. I also Emailed Google Playstore, but they never responded at all...total bunch of B.S.!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Despite opting out in the app settings, adverts CONSTANTLY popping up every few minutes then causes phone battery to drain really quickly as app will run in the background. Despite this being a really useful app I wouldn't recommend to anyone purely because of the harrassing amount of adverts!!! (adverts have popped up twice just in the space of time it has taken to type this review)
remote in the phone: interesting, yet it does everything that is forbidden in the app store. Unsolicited ads everytime the screen is locked or device restarted and have nothing to do with the app or app funtionality, and they don't even run just while the app is running but everytime. It also tells when there is low power (how else could we know) and this advice will remain with the screen locked and turned on; so their solution for a problem that does not exist is to drain even more the battery
Too many ads!! It just floods your screen everytime you unlock your phone and honestly it really gets to your nerves when you are busy and need to access your phone quickly also it auto saves wall paper in your gallery. So you run out of memory if you don't delete them. It started to become annoying after the last 2 updates..
The Samsung app is one of the most convenient apps in remote control application that we have in the market. It is a wonderful app and easy to download. It is one of the most user-friendly and easy to handle. There is a lot of application that helps you in accessing the device but you will realize they charge you heavily for it but the Samsung app is free of the cost comes up with the set amazing feature added to it most certainly in a good way. A great app to have.
preinstalled on my phone. would prefer to uninstall it. I don't want it because it's constantly interrupting my use of other apps on my phone with ads I don't want to see. I think I should have the choice to choose what apps I have on my own phone... don't agree with preinstalled apps that cannot be uninstalled. tried to contact Peel several times still waiting for cs to get back to me. AWFUL APP TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE DO NOT INSTALL!!! 😈
Confused! Do the Peel apps only work on smartphones and not tablets? I had the app on my phone, very easy to set up, and enjoyed it. But years later try to set up on tablet and it does not sync with the TV. I only get a guide. And no settings or instructions? Please help....
Too many ads! Unlocking my phone just to have to wait on a video ad to be over is very frustrating. I don't have time for that especially if I needed to make an emergency call. My alarm not going off/ being interrupted so an ad can pop up has also made me late. Random ads popping up while being online make this app inconvenient.
I once would have given this app 5 stars because I had my 2 box TVs, DVD players, and VCR connected to this app on my galaxy s6 and could use it at any given moment! Now I have an s9 and can't even get passed the start screen because I can't connect my TV to wifi. I don't have a remote for it, so this app was a Godsend, but now it's useless for me. Please go back to being able to connect to old school tvs!!! I will give it 5 stars!
Ads take up 33% of the top of the screen and then a little more at the bottom, not much room left for the remote, have to pay close attention to this or your off on a re-direct journey ending with a quick rooted uninstall. The app itself is great but my T95Z Plus and Vizio tv are on the same ir frequency so yeah but like I said it works great.
I have never and will never use this app, so it's really annoying me that I can't delete the app off my phone because it keeps automatically upgrading and putting up multiple ads when I'm just trying to unlock my phone, which causes the screen to freeze. So yeah, thanks.
I would give this app 0 stars if I could. App pops up with ad then screen saver that I have to click off of before opening my phone. Can you please change it to where that only happens when you are in the middle of using the app, not when I haven't even opened it. It is aggravating when I'm in a hurry to text or make a call. And ALSO it makes my phone run really slow. But I go in and unistall it and my phone runs fine. What apps is this one linked to? It won't officially let me unistall it.
Hangs on launch. After installing, I'm alerted that some permissions will be needed so I tap on "continue". There's a "Start" button to discover devices, but it never does anything, and all controls are unresponsive. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache/data many times, with no improvement.
It inturrupted everything, including my alarm. I was late for work because my alarm didn't go off. This application interferes with everything. Too many ads and unwanted pictures showing up at random. This app came with my phone, unfortunately, and can not be removed. This app is NOT worth having.
Way too many ads, they pop up even when the app isn't open. The permissions you have to give the app are crazy, they tell you they are collecting your contacts, calendar, phone calls and accounts data and sharing them without permission. It's a shame since the actual remote works great.
it's absolutely disgusting that this app has been updated to include pop up ads and a replacement ad filled lock screen, and comes with some older Samsung phoned such as the S4. Disable the app in system settings if you want to get rid of it. Ads like these should be banned from the Play Store, and at absolute minimum the Samsung bundled version should have been kept separate!
I installed on my phone to try it out, but haven't used it in years. An update forced an option to turn ads on that take over the screen when I unlock my phone and randomly when I'm using other apps. It has interfered with my alarm app causing it to not go off, phone calls, navigation apps, you name it. Turning off notifications in the settings only lasts until the next update or a month, whichever is sooner. Turning ads off isn't even a one-time fee, it is a monthly subscription ..... for something that I don't even use. I'm uninstalling this (again).
