App is good, but can never verify my finger print so I always have to get a verification code. 🙄 This card is better than nothing; no rewards. Yes, it has rewards categories, but those categories are with select merchants half of which I've never heard of. Basically no rewards. They DO NOT allow a product change from the petal 1 to a petal 2 in order to get a higher credit limit increase or any sort of cash back rewards. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to get a replacement card. 🙄 Don't recommend.

What a garbage app. Every single time I go to open the app, and I mean every time, some kind of weird glitch happens and it has to send me a text verification. Unreal that these folks with the money they've got to fix problems, they choose not to 👎

This card was great for awhile. But they haven't reported that I have paid off most of my balance in several months so now my credit score is going down. The entire point of getting this card was to help my score. It shouldn't take months to report a paid balance. I went from excellent to good and I'm not happy.

Asks for two factor authentication almost every time you login. And to type in the OTP, the keyboard that pops up is the regular one instead of the numeric keyboard when you just want to enter numbers. Also too frequent updates. Makes the experience frustrating. Bug - If you are trying to scroll down transactions, after scrolling through a few months, the list cuts off abrupptly on the screen.

This app hasn't worked in months on my Google pixel (both my old 3 and the new pixel 6 pro.) It doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or mobile data. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. There's no error, it just loads and loads until it times out. It doesn't load enough for me to log out and back in. This is frustrating as all my other card and bank mobile apps work just fine. Idk what's been happening but it's definitely not acceptable.

The app takes forever to log in if it even does. I've been trying to setup auto pay for a month now and I've had no luck. It's like they're trying to make it a terrible user experience.

Why do I have 2 step verification? My phone broke and I don't have that number anymore. I ALWAYS paid my bill online. Now I can't. Got behind due to this with added late fees. Now I am really behind because I still can't sign in. You want your money don't you?

Bad experience. I wanted to book urgent flight tickets and paying on UK site in Gbp currency using petal since they have no foreign transaction fee. The transaction was blocked by petal assuming its fraud. They did not contact me or try to verify if it was valid transaction. Could not call them since it was outside working hours. Had to use other card and ended up paying $80 fee. Cancelling card as it did not work when i urgentlly needed it to. Imagine travelling abroad n card does work!!

They won't approve you, even with a 715 score. I'm confused about the purpose of your credit card that's supposed to "build credit". The whole reason for the existence of this card is to help people do this. My question is, why would a person, like me, not be approved? Isn't the whole reason you exist is to help people like me build credit? *It's oxymoronic*

(Updated with solution) Got a Pixel 6 and experienced same issue as other reviewers. The app wouldn't open. Would just sit on a half loaded home screen never make it to login. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same problem. Finally figured out I could tap on the settings gear on the top right and then log out (even though I'd never logged in on this phone...) Once I did that it started working fine, started taking me to the login screen when I open the app.

Decent app, not very thought out login.. why should my cell phone be synonymous with my credit card? Maybe I want to pay my bill via a laptop, or other means...but I can't because I can only verify my identity via my cell? What sense does that make... Also, like others have said the credit limit is way too low which isn't horrible, but seeing as how it takes forever to increase it becomes more of an annoyance.

Complete trash. set up Autopay and when the due date came the autopay simply did NOTHING and made no payment and by the time i realized it my payment became late.

If you got a petal card in order to work on your credit, cancel it now! They are really lazy about reporting to the credit agency's. I paid the balance in full 3 months ago and they haven't reported it. Both of my other cards report every month. Now it looks like I have twice as much debt as I do, and my score is dropping because it doesn't look like I'm paying it off. You'd be better off with Fingerhut.

Do not sign-up for their service I have been continuously marked late payment when they won't take my banking info or provide any way for me to pay this bill. Their CS is copy paste responses with no help whatsoever. I'm probably going to have to pay a lawyer to fix this BS. So learn from my mistake and don't deal with this company.

Petal has literally ruined my credit scores with their failure to report the correct balance on the card and they do not report monthly... this is the last day for me to keep this petal card in my wallet ...so annoying to see my credit scores going down when I always pay all my credit balances before due date.

Was charged by a company three times and will not tell me who the company is, what the charges are for, or anything. Have been calling for almost a month now and have gotten absolutely no farther. Have had nothing but issues with this credit card company since I got my card and am closing my account.

There is zero ZERO customer service. The app stops working won't let me log in and there is no one to contact or talk to at all. "Try tomorrow" it tells me. Really??? REALLY!!?? TRY TOMORROW?

They have friendly customer service and the benefits that you get with the card are great. My only issue is it's system of editing for your banking account information. I wish they have a checkpoint in their system that doesn't allow it to sync until the account number you are reaffirming in the system matches with the one you used to apply for the card in the first place. Another issue I have is the syncing of additional bank accounts and the slow response from tech support customer service.

I've had the card for over 8 months so far. Not had anything to complain about so far. The card is great, the starting balance is decent, special offers are a nice feature and the app has improved a lot. The process to report a dispute was easy, and quick and customer service was great (got the new card within a week). The app itself has a simple yet descriptive UI, which makes it easy to use. Only suggestion is to try and improve the selection of offers but I see that improving over time as wel

Exceptional service. Approved me when no one else would. They gibe second chances to people with less than perfect credit, understanding that just because you may have had difficulties in the oast, does not mean you cannot submit a change now. Gave me the opportinity to get myself out of debt elsewhere. The app is phenomenal, simple, and easy to use. The AI is on top of the game. They reach out to yoh immediately for follow up with any questions. Incredible company, 100 out of 10 would recommend.

Petal cut my credit limit by a third with no warning. Add to the fact that they can lower your credit limit to be virtually unusable but then suddenly can't raise your credit limit if you have an over 730+ credit score, perfect payment history, and stable job. Great, beautiful app, but terrible business practice. In terms of earning potential, you're better off with Chase, Discover, or Capital One.

Love the app. It looks great. I just wish it had some more features that are critical. You should be able to submit a help ticket directly from the app, rather than providing an email address to do manually. There should be a way to request a credit limit increase from the app. Lastly, at least for me, Petal does not report consistently to the credit bureaus. Petal does not consistently and timely update my credit useage and payments to ALL 3 bureaus each month after my statement is released.

I tried to sign up and got to the part where you link your bank account. I minimized the browser to open my bank's app to get the information to link accounts and when I came back to the browser (within less than minute) it had refreshed back to the main sign up screen and it gives you no way to finish your application. Instead, it blocks you from being able to even get an account ever again. But when you are signing up, it doesn't tell you to have all your bank info ready. Problematic sign up.
