Podcast Player - Free

It's a great podcast app, but let down by aggressive ads. When the app is in the foreground, it will not only show ads for shopping apps, but it will literally open the shopping app on its own. I've never seen this kind of ad intrusion before, and I don't like it! Update: Their tech support couldn't help, and I decided it's time to free myself of these ads. I love podcasts, but I'm not going to pay a subscription for a player, so I found a truly free one, AntennaPod. Works great 🤠

Thanks for your response but that's not what I'm looking for. I use that function multiple times a day. I am looking for a way to select MULTIPLE episodes at one time that doesn't involve me touching each one. I am looking for something equiv holding the shift key down on a keyboard to click your house once and select multiple files. Also, your app keeps logging me out today and putting podcasts in my subscriptions that I've never seen.

Lovely app, I would subscribe but the price is CRAZY. Edit: knocking off a couple of stars because this organises random episodes of your podcasts into a playlist which is your only option for continuous listening. You want to listen to a series of episodes? Too bad, you have to navigate back to the podcast and manually select the next one it after the episode has finished.

If I leave the app open on my phone screen for too long, it'll automatically bring up the app store page for whatever app was in the banner ad, which is annoying and feels sketchy. Started maybe a few weeks ago. EDIT: My biggest issue was sync errors, but after a bit more poking around that's fixed now.

This app is good so far but please minimize the times the premium thing pops up. And also, it would be nice if there was a button in the episodes that took you all the way to the beginning (first episode) if you are new to the series and want to start from the beginning. Or maybe a button where you left off at least. Otherwise, it's a nice app.

Pretty good app, found it handy while in work,all my favourite pods in one place, Update... The latest update of the app has absolutely ruined it, half the screen taken over by prompts to upgrade to payed version, takes forever to load, just everything that made it the best podcast app has been changed, for the worse.

The app is a wonderful way to catch up with podcasts without having to worry about extra audio ads. You can download episodes even on the free plan, and each podcast is easy to find and keep track of progress. Episodes can take a second or two to load but it's not a big enough issue to be a problem.

This is an updated review. Have used this app for several years and on four different phones. Tried several podcast apps and keep coming back to this one. Not perfect, but simple to use, easy to navigate and organize.

It used to be a great and complete podcast app but lately it has started deleting my followed podcasts and replaced them with random other podcasts. It has become a mess so I would use another podcast app.

I've been using this app for years almost every day. The only feature I'd love to see is an option to hide played episodes per podcast. I usually have the hide played episodes option on but it will hide episodes for smaller podcasts that I like to listen to multiple times.

I'm extremely irritated. The app had me log back in today, and when I did, all of my followed podcasts were replaced by random ones I've never listened to. There's zero point in using this app if it's going to force me to download random podcasts I've never followed

The app logged me out and when I logged back in all my subscriptions were gone and noone has responded to my emails asking how to restore them. Without the subscriptions the app is pretty useless, there's no difference between it and Spotify if it doesn't have my years of subscriptions in it.

It advertised a free 7 day trial of premium, but charged me for the year immediately, even though I canceled immediately. Edit: rating increased to 4 stars, reflecting the fact that google's charge didn't go through, as per response below.

April, 25th of this year would be my 6th year anniversary using this app having started in 2016. I've been a Premium user for most of the time as the upgraded features were worth it for me. I've tried Google podcast, Spotify, Deezer, iHeartRadio to name a few and none comes close in terms of simplicity, ability to personalize how I listen and content. Customer services is great if needed and you can tell the developers really care about their product. From 2016 to 2022, still worth all 5 stars.

Its shocking how such a simple app can run so poorly. It freezes all the time, opens full page ads at random, lags like mad, and sometimes requires several restarts just to start a single podcast.

Love this app. Have been using it for about 2 years now without any issues until just recently. Whenever I'm listening to something all the sudden the google play store opens on it's own without me tapping on anything.

Update: I'm very sad to update my review but most podcasts will not show up now. Seems this app is now one of the worst. Disappointed. Hands down this is best podcast app on Android. I finally can listen offline while on the go. Other apps were such a pain and took up space. Options are easy to change, now I can download directly to my SD card. It's the little things that really add up. Love the setup and other features available too. There's no other app out there that comes close. 6/5 stars.

Simple and easy to use. However the app forgets what I've listened to, so that is tough if you want to listen to older episodes of a pod. I just don't listen to older casts now because of it.

My favourite podcast app. I just wish there was a one off payment option to remove ads only. *Edit, getting constant notifications from new podcasts that I've already dismissed. Had to rollback to old APK. Down rated from 5 stars until fixed

Fantastic. I haven't had any issues i.e. bugs or glitches. Very clean app! I wish all apps ran as well as Player FM. It's the place to be for podcasts.

Really live this app, but it is recently it started using mobile data for downlading episodes although I have explicitly setup auto-download to pause if wireless not available. Also kinda resources intensive lately. Please tune ti up and clear bugs.

App provides access to almost all podcasts and works well. I have had a recent issue where all the podcasts I was subscribed to disappeared - is there any fix for that?

I listen to my podcasts at 1.5 speed. The problem is that when I pause a podcast and restart it later than the speed has been reset to regular and the speed controls are no longer even there to change it back. The controls dont re-appear until you start a new podcast.

It has all the basics👌+ Complete Sync🔁 + Unique feature for me is the way podcast categories are handled in the ui, with around a 💯 podcasts, , it's been the best experience for actually ORGANIZING my subscriptions.🔥 - I want a "play this next" button and ability to add local folders as a "virtual podcast" (for audiobooks). Otherwise this is absolute gold. Go try podcast republic for its features, pocket casts for sleekness, and come back for all of it in one package♥️👍

It just stopped working with a pixel 4 and Airpods Pro. I just updated the app. Didn't help. Airpods are working fine with Spotify.

Reliable app but I find it a little difficult to get around the interface--still learning but not always obvious where to find things.

An episode couldn't download because of an error receiving or processing data at the HTTP level, this happens way to often and I personally think this app is broken.

It's a pretty decent podcast app, although it's biggest flaw is it's substandard search engine. It takes it from being excellent to pretty decent. Not bad though.

Extortion. The podcast begins to play but gets interrupted by an ad. The podcast does not resume after the ad and when you try to relaunch it you are told that it and all of your other downloads have been corrupted. If player.fm doesn't want you using their program without paying for it there shouldn't be a free version available.

Lean and Mean! Has way more features than I use, all the podcasts I want, and an intuitive interface.
