POF Free Dating App

Used to be a great app, but has slowly been eroded, to a paid service so that you now get nothing useful for free. The latest updates even stop you viewing profiles that are 'looking for something else'... well why are you putting them in my search results then!! Can't remove likes, distance settings don't work, no idea about my criteria settings can't figure out how to change it. Repeatedly shows people over a 100 miles way. Not intuitive or user friendly and getting worse with each update.

I get a lot of matches but few responses and half of them are scammers looking for money. Another fourth of the matches are long distance. Putting in parameters for the search work for about ten matches then they don't figure into anything. Also texting or messaging from mobile is much more difficult than the computer and if you upgrade on new device don't count on it showing up on the other. There is also almost no way to voice a concern or inquire about a problem to a real person.

Most of the functions I don't have a problem with. But texting seems to be glitchy sometimes at the wrong time like when the middle of writing a text. I'm pretty wordy. I'm working on a lengthy text and the keyboard freezes or I lose my already written text message. Not good. Other than that it's okay. The other thing is a lot profiles seem to have misleading info such as a person age. The profile will state 54, but the photos show a person that ain't a day over 24.

There's bugs in the Voice phone call feature that doesn't let you call people you've matched with. The web app has problems. Chat feature isn't live (you have to update/refresh the page to see new messages when they come) and you are shown results outside of your search radius (ie set your radius to 20km and get results for people 200km away)... other than that though. Its ok... and pretty cheap compared to other options

Unfortunately profiles don't look so good. Most people don't pay so you have to send each one you want to swipe right and message otherwise they cannot talk to you. The distances that you set is only global or 75 km, but it does not comply with it and shows you much further distances. The parameters you set are reasonably ignored. So when you say what you're looking for it gives you profiles that are not looking for the same thing.

The app can be so glitchy at times you open it nothing shows, and clearing cache doesn't help.. I know it's the app because I can log in through the browser UPDATE: Love the new voice clip messages you can now send a person.. I don't fully like the 'Like' feature in the sense that once you like a person you can't unlike them.. if you're busy within the app (ex: Search) it's great that you get 'real time' red circle notifications in the upper left corner with the number of new messages you have

PoF is a pretty bad, but not outright horrible app. I can safely say that every experience I've had on it has been weird of downright bad. Furthermore, a large number of users fit into 1 of 2 categories...if you don't like those 2, I recommend another app. However there is a good thing about it- All likes send you a notification, in app and out, with the name and mini picture. You can use this to keep an eye out for any likes you get without paying. All in all though- I feel it's bot central.

Absolute cr@p. Search results, the Recommended for You section, Meet Me etc. all show you endless profiles only for a message to be shown when viewing them, saying that they're looking for a different type of person, and you're blocked from messaging them. In that case don't show me those f@%#ing profiles then. The app very poorly written and is massive waste of time.

Keep getting the notification that suggest that this match is (paraphrased) wanting something different in a match and blocks any messaging attempt. I get that but, this despite the fact that the match has VIEWED AND LIKED me! Happens waaaaay too much. And can't seem to find the list of matches that I've "liked." It's like you like 'em, you lose' em.

Absolutely have to agree with the other reviews. Horrible app, which was once decent. Now it's all about the money. Pay for everything. Can't narrow my search, pretty much shows me everything I said I wouldn't date. Very helpful. It's not even motivates me to pay for it?! Might as well delete it. No way I ever find a "match" like this 😂

A bit clumsy to use, but I'm new. May time will find improved functioning. I keep seeing individuals after I thought I had Xed them out of my proposed matches. This is a very clumsy, oddly Designed app that claims to show matches but, after I click on a "match", gives a resoonse that the person is looking for someone different. How flipping bizarre.,! Clearly I'm missing something....

With sensible distance settings this could be one of the better apps for meeting people, but the search settings for distance make this such a TIME WASTER. The only distance you can select is 75km or ANY distance. And that setting doesn't even work, so you have to sort through THOUSANDS of profiles of people so far away they can be in a different country with a sea in between you. Lastly, huge numbers of accounts are clearly abandoned or hacked by spammers - even more time wasted.

Do not buy subscriptions. You cannot cancel it and you will continue to get charged after subscription expires. I subscribed for 1-month and was charged again after the expiration date. Then I tried to cancel on the app it took me to the website but I could not sign in cause it says there is an error and access is denied. I repeat, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE.

Can't view a profile of someone who likes you unless you pay or you spend ages trying to search for it elsewhere. Complete waste of everyone's time. All the other reviews about problems with refining distance, the app throwing up any random person at you etc, all true. Don't bother with this one.

I only use head shots with no skin showing on the rest of my body, never use filters but good lighting, and they are clear and in focus but the app deleted all my photos. I also have professional profile on LinkedIn with my photo and name as well as accolades from academics that could be search on Google that tie my face and name together. You can even seen that the photos have not been touched up due to seeing the texture of my skin. This is also the only 1 star review I have ever left.

The app is a nightmare. Login issues all the time. Inbox doesn't refresh. You need to stop the app clear the cache and restart the app. This happens without fail all the time. If you get to log in you're lucky. In short this app is the most bugged-out bit of rubbish software I have ever used. It's just awful 🤢🤮🤢🤮👎

Will not let me change my account password which is especially alarming after they attempted to charge me $38.70 earlier in the day, ironed it out with their billing dept. When I attempted to contact them for assistance it submitted the ticket 3 times and I now have 3 SEPERATE ticket numbers for my issue. Delete this app and use something else, straight up not worth the troubles when something like this happens. I'll be reviewing legal options and reporting to the Better Business Bureau.
