Updates seem to have fixed issue with slow connection to polar h10. Strava is still better for GPS accuracy and pace measurement. Developers should try to implement auto-pause feature for running so pace isn't affected by say having to tie your shoe laces or being held up by people walking. App has good functionality otherwise. P.s what the hell happened to the female voice during training? She sounds horrible all of a sudden, really strange changes in the pitch of her voice
I had to uninstall the app and re-install it 3 times before it barely worked. It is not user friendly and doesn't like to pair with any other app very easily. Their needs to be a way to save the information somewhere easily accessible. I need a more accessible and versatile menu. Currently I can pause but then can't get out of the program to go to a separate app. It took a few tries before i realized it that so I would stop the workout and then re-start it.
Starting to lose offline sessions which is annoying. Everything else with the app is great. Edit: Still losing the very occasional session months later. Edit: now somewhat stable, if I don't switch apps. Would love to compare heart rate measurements to previous sessions. Edit: App occasionally loses BT pairing and records a partial workout.
Has some weirdisms. Every now and then my training notes disappear. It would be nice if the 3 or 4 exercises I use most could be put in a favourites list at the top. Recently I broke my phone. Polar Beat was automatically reinstalled. Great, except some of my excerises weren't listed. Manually uninstalled app then reinstalled it and am now back to where I started.
There is no way to trim your workouts. (I think this used to be a feature on polar beat/flow but was removed?) This has to be the most basic and easy feature to implement whether it's before you submit your workout to Polar flow or after. If I forget to turn off the tracker after the gym, I am ruining my overall stats with longer average workout and lower average heart rate. There are other features that are missing too such as changing the heart rate zone but the one I mentioned previously is a big one for me.
The app was working well for several months. Then late one evening I installed the latest update. Now the app no longer works at all. When I launch, I get a white screen with a logo in the center and the app crashes. FYI. I have a Google Pixel 4 XL running Android 12 with all the available updates. Hopefully Polar can get this sorted out ASAP Thank you for your fast reply. Your suggestion worked. The app now works as before
I like the idea of training based on my heart-rate. I purchased a Polar Sense HR sensor for this reason, and the HR part of the "package" works fine. Unfortunatelly, all of this is pretty useless because the app has awful GPS precision. On a 2km run, in average it misses around 200-500 meters (10-25% of the total distance) This issue is present regardless of configurations and settings. I don't recommend the hardware either, as is not compatible with any other app Googe Fit is precise btw
The app stopped syncing with Polar Flow, which I have connected to Strava so my runs would never show up on Strava for some reason. Who wants to do something manually when it has been working before hand? I can't keep doing it manually. Sometimes when I switch the activity after it reads my pulse, it stops taking readings. I have to then close out the app and start over again. Why?
Consistently buggy about connecting devices and as of 4/6/22 update is entirely broken. Will not go past the loading screen. The suggested fix is to uninstall entirely before reinstall-- thanks for forcing me to delete all my training records. If you want to keep your data and enjoy your workout app working, stay away.
Switch from the Fitbit to polar. Extremely glad I did that. They both are good but I use the chest drop h10. Absolutely love it and when you want to quit just look at where you're at with your current progress and just that data will push you farther and harder! My chest strap has lasted me a year + and now it's being finicky, $25 replacement. But I use it every single day for every single sport I do and it lasted a long time taking a beating. Just wish they had hey Motocross option 😕.
Need ability to manually set heart rate for each color in the graph manually, per desired targets. Also would be nice if there was landscape mode. Often need to close and reopen several times for sensor to register, sometimes need to turn Bluetooth off and on. But works
*UPDATE: reinstalled app and, thankfully, my historical data wasn't lost, and the app again functions* Flat out doesn't work as of 3.5.4 - app won't load, and loading splash screen persists indefinitely. Pixel 6 Pro. Have been using for at least 6 years previously, with all upgrades purchased.
App doesn't read my polar h9 since last update. Doesn't work on andriod phone. I have another app that read my h9 and a bowflex machine that reads it. But the polar beat doesn't. I sent the h9 in for repair but that wasn't the problem. Something in the app isn't right. Update, found out how to connect phone to strap, working as it should. I enjoy using the polar beat app and h9 strap. Thanks
Appears to be a solid fault in app. When opens it only shows the logo & sticks at this point. Completely non functioning when had previously worked. Using on Z Fold3 - so is it a bug for tablet use? Resetting device doesn't fix but app had worked before.
I hate to turn on Google precision for GPS and this application requires it! I've got other applications (Mi Fit, Adidas Runtastic) and they just work without this need. If I'm not wrong, you are talking about BLE scanning that requires Google precision, not connection itself. So, why your application needs to scan each time the same bluetooth device? If it is already paired, what for? Again, l've got Mi Band & Mi Fit, they use Bluetooth to connect to each other, they don't need this precision.
