Wonderful app. Small size, minimum permissions, open source (GPL V3), and it Just Works! At various points in the past I've needed to install a QR-code scanner. As the developer of this app notes, the Play Store is full of various scanner apps of varying degrees of scrupulosity. I think I once installed one that was around 80 MB. 🤔🤨🧐 I imagine many phones these days have a QR-scanner integrated somehow, but it is often lacking. If you need more features then I highly recommend this app!
Being privacy friendly is certainly a great virtue but the app would have been more useful to me if it allowed scanning pictures already present in my gallery. Maybe,being privacy friendly contradicts being able to scan gallery pictures ; then it's understandable.
It scans codes, and lets you save them. But you can't do much with the saved codes. It stores the version, error correction level, and mask, but doesn't display them to the user. You also can't bring up the saved codes full screen for somebody to scan. Generator can't do text QR codes, and crashes if I try to store a generated code.
I like the privacy focus, but the app lacks one core functionality any QR scanner needs: Copying the scanned value without a hassle. Currently, it requires a lot of unnecessary tapping, when the value could just as easily be copied automatically (as a setting to be enabled). This unfortunately makes this app not very comfortable to use.
For some reason beep signal setting is not working (can't turn off the signal). Still, application is awesome. It just does what it meant to do without useless features and ads. Best option on whole play market for sure!
What a relief! I went through ten other scanner apps, but all of them had turned treacherous. This one works simply and well; and there can be no higher praise for a piece of software.
Great app. No ads, no data transfer. Only thing missing for me is the feature to enlarge the scanned qr code. It's possible to scan in the history, but fullscreen on click would be great
Thanks so much for providing an easy to use, privacy friendly, and ad free app for free. Please fix the beep on scan though. It is off in the settings, but still beeps quite loudly.
Used to work, but now crashes as soon as it sees a QR. Maybe it has anxiety... 🤔😅
Finally, an app to replace ZXing without invading the tiny remaining sliver of my online privacy. Thank you!
Very simple interface.no ads at all.problem is that after scanning qr and showing url app and clicking proceed it's stucks one place, so you must close app and reopen for another code.
Can't scan saved images. Useless. No dark theme. Can't just copy the recognized text to the buffer.
An app that does what it needs to -- scans QR codes. Love that it only uses the camera and doesn't request access to everything in order to sell my life information to marketers. Wish more developers took this approach!
Cool,but there are problems. If you generate a qr code why can't you read it from a picture inside the device? also, why no zoom and where are the generated codes stored?
It's simple to use. Just wish it had zoom in/out features to scan.
This app is fantastic. Minumal permissions are required and it warns you about dangerous sites before opening. I cannot reccomend it enough!

Does what it says on the tin. Doesn't require the keys to your life to operate. Just camera access, as it should be. Thanks!
didn't work on pixel 2xl. has permissions granted, but won't scan a barcode.
Slow to focus. Couldn't find Barcode item online. Said "no search app". Qr code uses duckduckgo not the default on phone.
good idea but it does nothing. pity. Galaxy A8 2018 andoid 9. i click proceed>search on web and it opens the photo gallery.

Perfect! Other apps require invasive permissions, this one does not.
I can scan and generate URIs now, without granting unnecessary permissions. (v3.1.0)
Suits my needs perfectly. I love that it does nothing with the scanned content before I have the chance to check it. It gives me the control. Often I just want to scan something like a serial number from a bar code and copy to the clipboard - it can do that too. The only problem is that it has tends to have difficulty focussing the camera and detecting the code. I sometimes need to adjust the position and/or distance, rarely I need a second attempt. But it always gets there in the end.
