QR Code Reader no ads

Wow! What a smooth and effective GUI! I’m impressed! Just as I was giving up thinking that QR scanners cannot be improved further any longer, I came across this gem. I love how simple and yet effective its design and implementation are. It’s different from the competition in important and meaningful ways (I have 5 others on my phone). It eliminates unnecessary clicks between the UI elements and gives you the results in the best way possible. Kudos to the programmer! Please keep it lean as it is.

This is, THE ONE. Look no further. I use this at work all the time to scan barcodes and this is the most responsive and clutter-free barcode reader on the play store. Easy to use. Works perfectly. Shows links in easy to click format and also provides additional options. For a product or a manufacturer it will offer links to search Amazon, eBay and other sites. I have not been bothered by ads and haven't noticed any. If they are there, they are very unobtrusive.

simple but works. I'd suggest that an additional option after the scan would be to automatically search. I have only scanned qr that are product codes so if the qr is a url it might pull that up automatically? as it is I copied the result using the copy button and pasted it into the browser. easy. I would suggest adding an alignment frame in the camera window as an overlay. it took me a few minutes to figure out the code needed to be straight in the camera frame

Like most of you, I have been through a lot of the "free" QR/Barcode scanners here. This is my last one unless something changes for the worse. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and what is advertised with no issues or ads. It does it for free for real unlike other "free" apps. Thank you!

Super-accurate, reliable, simple user interface. Can scan multiple, tiny QR codes at the same time, displaying all results at once. Codes do not need to be centered. Small footprint. No ads. No hijacking (some other QR apps do that). This is the QR Code Reader that I always use.

Incredibly fast and easy to use, no need for the "peephole" some QR apps use, and have always gotten the right data anyway. The ability to get QR codes from your Gallery (which ties in to the feature of not having to fix the QR code in the middle) is awesome, and the history of scanned QR codes are just a cherry on top of an already great app.

This is an awesome scanner. Barely installed when it started & accidently caught site of the QR code I was installing it to read & it promptly brought up the correct link. ALL without me even trying, couldn't believe how efficient it was. It read the barcode on it too without me doing anything. It beats a lot of the higher rated scanners that show ads & refuse to work. I would recommend an option to choose when it scans as it did scan the barcode 1st (test 2) which I didn't need. (Galaxy Tab S2)

I used this as my QR reader of choice because it didn't have the glaring security hole of following links in codes automatically. The latest update defaults to auto-open links, and the way to revert to the safer option is by clicking the "crop" icon on the main screen which doesn't give any indication that this is what it does. However, I am adding 2 stats back on since the safer behavior is still available.

Straight app to use as a simple scanner for QR and few other related function without the annoying ads or any lame pop-ups whatsoever. Small and sufficient, that how I like it. Although, should there be any sign of of degradation along the updates, I will definitely come to seize my stars back. For now, I believe it's safe to say that- "All my bases are belong to this liberation front."

Edit: The new version seems to recognise the code faster, at least based on a quick test. It works and also supports other codes similar to QR, like Data Matrix and regular bar codes. There's just two thing I'd still like: 1. A way to swipe previously recognized code off the screen. 2. When scanning a product barcode many apps give an option to open a database webpage of that product in a browser. I'd like that. For the record, this is the QR app I'm dedicated to use :)

Great variety of bar and 2D codes. Really free. Recognizes vcards, vcalendars, wifi settings QRs... Bit cumbersome UI (you have to press "delete" every time you scan a code to see the scanning screen again, but then it remains in history; Zoom level is not persistent after scanning...). Does NOT CREATE codes!

The error now says it's just not compatible and prompts me to uninstall. I've tried this on 3 different devices with very different hardware and different versions of Android: this app just doesn't work. The updated error message tells me to clear Google services cache, which, even after a restart after doing so, the app still has the same error. I've tried about 7 or 8 other QR apps and none of them ask me to clear any cache, and moreover.. they just work. Wonder what's going on with this one?

This app use to be perfect. it use to be add free now it has a ton of ads. It use to store you old qr codes you scanned on the main screen till your cleared them away. Now it just wipes them when you look at one of the urls. It also tries to keep you inside the app for as long as possible. It use to sent you straight to the website but not any more. I miss what this app use to be, it isn't the same anymore.

Finaly found a tolerable free qr code scanner that knows how to properly attach email ad, subject and body after scanning an email qr code. Best part is it doesnt delay you with ads on the first second you open the app. The only downside is it added an additional step before attaching the info to compose mail. But this is ok i guess for my employees.

the last update broke things :( for some reason now it turns the flash light on and off continuesly. Despite the flash is disabled in the settings. update: thank you for looking into it, yes, it happening today as well, there wasn't any update in May isn't it? it flashing every time I open the app, 1st, 2nd, 3th .. 10th.. my phone is UMIDIGI F2, it runs Android 10

Easy to use, clean interface. I bought it for $0.99, which went smoothly. Unfortunately, l haven't had any luck getting the app to work. No instructions. If it begins working I should be a able to modify my rating to 5 stars.

Reads a lot more than just QR codes. Update: Well, it used to. It used to be faster, and would just give you the "Text" of the codes, now it tries to do Google searches on them, and that's slower. Turning off your network seems to help.

The app is very good in my opinion. It's very innovative to allow you to use the full camera to scan QR code as well as barcode and more. Its speed is awesome, you don't need more than 5 seconds. The app starts up quickly without any blockers or any interuption. Big thanks to the developer 👍

I've tried a few QR readers but this one is great, free and no ads. If it ever becomes paid, I'll pay it. I was setting up a QR code to make it easier for friends to log into my Wi-Fi. This app read it and logged in, lightning fast and without any problems. Great stuff!

I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS A PERFECT QRCODE SCANNER APP. I would recommend this app to everyone and anyone around me. It does not have ads at all. The size is small. The interface is easy to use. What else do you need?! I am a university student so I use qrcode a lot. This app help me so much. Thanks a lot!

Like this developer's other apps (particularly "Smart Lens") this one is great, a best-of-breed. This app works so fast, that it will actually catch u off guard: you'll still be trying to "center" the bar code, yet it will already be showing the "what to do with the scan results" screen. FANTASTIC APP: make sure u give his other apps a look. Thank You for this app & your other ones. It makes me so happy to see someone that knows how to efficiently code & maximize my device's hardware.

Faster QR reader I've ever used. It doesn't need you to place the code within a box boundary (like many others), it just scans the entire screen. It even managed to scan from many angles! Doesn't need the code to be flat

A lean app in style and size. It did the job for me. Update Dec2020: don't know what happened to this but it's degraded into suspicious links with very little scanning. Update 2: Developer was super responsive. I've installed the other QR Scan app by the same Developer and I am happier with that app.

Good light app, with no apps. A few improvements that can be done though. 1. Cannot swipe away scanned barcode, stays on screen till app restart. 2. An option to enable screen guide (box) to align barcode/qr code will be helpful.

Great app and easy to use. Just open app, capture your QR code, the web link pops up, click on website and you have your info. On video I was only getting the sounds, so clicked on the 3 dots, downloaded to video player, and had my video!

Finally, a Reader that works well the first time, and without pop ups that block functions. I was able to open the app, scan, and complete my task in a matter of minutes. Thank you!!

Where does it show county of origin ? That's the only feature I'm looking for. Will rate it 5 starts if I manage to find it. Overall it is nice free app with non intrusive adds with respect for privacy : allows to replace the Google search engine with alternatives such as Ecosia or DuckduckGo.

Worked instantly and provided info and links to the QR code scanner. Downloaded several apps at the same time to compare, this best out the other two and I kept it versus the other two apps that I uninstalled immediately. Works seemlessly.
