Seems like a rookie weather man guessing the forcasts and its constantly changing every couple hours which I mean, I understand changing it when your wrong or miss the forecast, but it didn't use to be this way. Seems alot like the radar will show rain but it wont be raining. I think we need a tune up. Pretty good, but I think this app has backsliding a bit.
So far, so good. Nice, clean, simple, uncomplicated radar app. Shows radar (it comes up first) with different color boxes for watches and warnings, flash food, severe storms and tornado. (Tropical too.) Playback shows direction of weather movement. Zoom in and out works smoothly. Can't zoom alot but minimum of place names are clear. Click on dots to get more detailed local weather. If you just want radar, this is it.
This app went from simple and good to complicated and bad but developer has worked out the bugs and it's now perfect for what I want. NOAA weather is the best for my area, hourly weather is almost always spot on and the file size is still relatively small because it doesn't have a bunch of useless bells and whistles. 5 STARS!
What good is app that won't send severe weather alerts? From the dev: "The app does not provide any notifications. You will need to open the app to see active alerts. Most phones have emergency notifications built in, which is why I have chosen not to include them." Only my phone does not differentiate between weather alerts & LEO alerts. I don't need to have my phone alerting for a Conv. Store robber 3 counties away. Now Looking for new WX app. down from 4 stars previously.
I currently subscribe to a couple different weather apps, this one consistently is the most accurate and easy to access, I love how easy it is to set different locations and to change to them with little effort, it's especially nice while traveling or visiting family that lives far away.
Excellent, you can put in your zip code if you don't like wasting your battery having Location on, but you can have it on the first time then turn it off and it still uses your last known location. Anyways it does it's job well and I have no complaints.
Best, simple radar app I've found. Unobtrusive ads. Fast loading, and accurate for local weather alerts or warnings. Has some options for overlays but fairly simple and does what I need it to do!
4/8/22 working well. Paid to remove ads, developer always replies to me when I have questions. Looking forward to saving current location 😎 (5/1/22 🤞🏻) It's a great little app. Simple and basic. The radar is usually very accurate. Thanks!
By far the best weather app! Gui is user friendly, and watches / warning come out about 1min to 2min before the weather radio goes nuts. I would recommend this app especially if you travel.
Ads not too intrusive. Overlays easy to view. App not too cluttered with features I don't need.
I'll give this 5 stars just one minor issue and it's not the app. When the nearest NWS station doesn't report the numbers get weird. Our nearby station was down for a week.
I've loved this app from the second I opened it. If you want no nonsense no adds no bs just the damn radar you've found it. I'd give it a 10 star rating if that was an option.
Excellent graphics. Weather radar needed here in Florida with the bad storms popping up all the time
gives you the forecast for 6 or 7 days. also gives you a very good active radar picture best weather app I have ever used
Doesn't show the radar, screen is completely blank even during a major storm.
It was a great app until the latest update. I do not understand why they needed to change it. It was simple and fast with a well organized interface. Now, it's like any other weather app out there with unnecessary features. Furthermore, they changed the name and icon from something obvious to something obscure. Goodbye, RadarExpress, you will be missed.
I really liked Radar Express, it was my go-to weather app. Not happy with "upgrade" to Radar X: colors are dull, classic map is far fuzzier than the original, overall feel of the app is unsettling. Do not see any " improvement" provided by new style or features... To be honest, I prefer the original app, and will probably drop back to a version I saved, or move on to a different app completely. Sorry guys, but just don't like this.
Overall meets my needs. Simple and reliable. Very quick and easy to get the info I want at a glance with ability to zoom in and out. Colors are pretty straightforward and not "over enhanced". Hasn't crashed, loads quickly unless I have one bar. The only thing I don't like is that the weather alerts will get in the way of the info I want and have to tap to close the drop down so that I can see the full radar picture.
Like you, I've tried a number of weather/radar apps. Deleted them all except this one. This app is accurate, detailed and agile. I find it user friendly without being dumbed down. I like that it stores several locations so you can check on places as needed. The quality and detail are exactly what I need - am very satisfied. Thanks, Radar Express, for the excellent product, and the continuing top notch management.
Does the job for me when using the most primitive settings. Its accurate. Does not have overly done app functions that slow a phone down. This app is more efficient and simple; its stable and without constant update issues. It has a quick response time when loading. Nothing to complain about to me, It does not zoom in too well, but I can live with that.
Was great before the update. It was simple and the forecast was plain text. This new one is a classic case of "If it ain't broke...". The map has less detail, the radar has been substituted with unnecessary and inaccurate visuals and the forecast is now the same as the plane Jane accuweather that came pre-installed on my phone. This was my favorite weather app for years and now I may soon look for another. You guys really dropped the ball here trying to fit in.
It's an update. Seems like a new company. I miss having the black-and-white version as it was easier to read the map and see county/state/country lines. I did pay to have ads removed but for five bucks I'd expect a LOT more features. This is...well, it's just a map with weather. For five bucks to remove ads with zero additional features ? Not worth it . Would like my money back as this app is underwhelming and awful to view.
I love this simple to use weather app! It has all the info I need as far as moving radar, forecast, weather alerts, and is highly accurate. I, especially, love that it utilizes the very minimal of storage space, which makes it, particularly, valuable! Well done! Only wish is that it would let me track hurricanes, but I can live without this information. It's just an added plus when available for keeping track of storms near friends' in other states.
Radar express used to be my favorite radar app. It was quick, light, easy settings. Now it is SLOW to load, heavy, and no settings. Looks cool, but useless. Can't tell what is satelite, map image, or radar signal, after waiting 45 seconds to load. With storm season coming in a few months, this is no good. I'll be looking for a different radar app. :(
Loads quick and is accurate and simple to use. The speed of the radar isn't so fast you can't see where weather is coming from or going to. I would like to see more contrast for the ground locations. Maybe a choice of background color change? Lakes and rivers are hard to see sometimes. That's why four stars but overall out of all the apps I like this one the best.
Thanks for adding the settings options and the classic map. I would have preferred to not been forced to update. I turn off auto-updates. The new app is too busy. The icon has changed. The zoom is too far out. My location is turned off and I get a red bar accoss my screen like I have done something bad. Can I get the 2018 apk? Thanks
Seems to work in my area, but somewhat intermittently. It is a basic weather app that does work for me. At various times I can not get a forecast because it is not posted by NOAA, which is irritating to say the least. Graphic display does manage to show a current map pattern with presence or absence of precipitation. I do like this particular application in site of short falls. It seems to speak to me visually!l
Radar Express is the "no nonsense" weather app I have long been searching for. First of all the radar image is the first thing you see. Eliminating the frustrating quest to find the proper button to bring up the radar and the length load time I have experienced with other apps. The NOAA forecast is a wonderful addition to this weather app, the only one I use.
Radar Express was my go to app for many years. This latest version Radar X is very minimalistic and looks like a bowl of pea soup with a few lines for major roads. The detail is very poor and all of the previous features are gone. It no longer fits my needs. I would give it a zero if I could. I would call it ex radar because I am un-installing it and moving on to a feature rich app.
Changing my review, and taking it from 4 to 1 star. I have the most recent update but it is still showing weather warnings for my area from TWO DAYS ago!! Also, when I look at the map for info on storm direction it may indicate that its only cloudy, but its actually raining. The NWS updates the extended forecast daily; but this app just can't seem to keep up. There is definitely plenty of room for improvement.
