Most .gif's get an error, and most videos don't load, or only load a tiny amount then say error determining video format which forces me to have to open in browser which is the opposite reason for getting the app.... PS.. I have been using this app for at least 4 or so years and this has definitely been a recent thing, like the past 6 months or so... was hoping an update would fix but nope, not yet.

Best Reddit app out there. Unfortunately I've had a bug crop up since the last update, every time I open the app it says I have a message even when I don't. I assume some spam account has sent me a message before being removed but I can't read it so I always get the notification. If I sort messages by unread there's nothing in my inbox. Idk though maybe there's another explanation but my other account never gets the notification.

Works far more reliably than the actual Reddit app. Tiny thumbnails give the option to open a post or not. Then separate actions must be taken to go further in or send messages, which I still haven't figured out.

Really bummed the random function isn't working for me anymore and no idea how to get around it. Whenever I refresh a random page, it stays on that page instead of loading a new one like it used to. Not sure if this is something that happened with a recent patch, but it's kind of a bummer.

Nearly a decade using and abusing Reddit. RIF has been my go-too for almost as long. As long as I have the app on my phone I refuse to browse with their inhouse app or the desktop version. Damn near perfect. Edit: the icon is in the bottom right corner of my phone. I may use it too much.

I like the RIF app a lot and most everything works great but recently ive had an issue where ill open the app and get redirected to the google play store and shown a download page for an app without clicking on anything. I dont mind being shown banner ads but i take issue with being wholly redirected to a different app. I hope this isnt an intentional feature.

Absolutely love the app. Only reason for one star is the most recent update broke YouTube links and I thought this would make more easily seen. You used to be able to change the quality and double tap either side to fast forward or rewind 10 seconds. Most recent app update broke it

Easy to use, streamlined, and intuitive. I have been using it for 3-4 years with consistent results. There's only one issue I have - when people post oversized multiple images, you can't hit next from within the expanded image, only the smaller version (which cuts off some texts in a screenshot). It's easily fixed by opening images in a browser instead. Literally my only complaint. It's very versatile and customizable. This is how to make an app.

Has taken me a little time to get used to, but much better than the Reddit app. Little to zero ads, no live streams from what I've seen, and everything in general is just so much less in your face. Definitely feels a lot closer to Reddit when I originally started using it.

Far better than the official Reddit app. I only have a few issues with it. 1. No subreddit search, have to type the exact sub name to visit a new sub. 2. Small gripe, but I wish your latest sort wasn't persistent. Browsing top posts of all time on a new sub and then going back to the front page shows the same top of all time posts every time. 3. AFAIK you can't open outside Reddit links in RIF. Using the official app mitigates these issues, but RIF is easily the superior user experience.

It took a little while for me to get used to the slightly different presentation, coming from the official Reddit app, but it's vastly superior once I got acclimated. The official app didn't have the same options for customization, and tended to slow down a lot. RIF has none of those issues. It's smooth, let's me get rid of annoying garbage on my feed, and I haven't had any technical issues.

Definitely better that the original app, but it still has a few issues. For one, you have to open up a video post to play it and it cannot autoplay. Galleries are also much worse than just scrolling left to right through them, and they have ads between images. However, a lot of features are added, such as filtering posts by title, subreddit, or more. There are also a lot more settings you can change to fit what you want.

Honestly it's fast, just works 99.9% of the time (I'll get logged out randomly in the middle of scrolling like four times a year but I can look past that) and no ads if you don't use enhanced features. Also updates don't change features like the official app keeps doing, if posts on the site are anything to go by. The ability to scroll through reddit galleries needs to be improved.

The UI is not at all flashy, comparing to Boost at least. However that is this apps strongsuit. The UI is really intuitive and it gets out of the way making it feel like the posts themselves are the app and making you forget you are on reddit to begin with. I would love to see a better "black mode" tho, it exists currently, but still leaves a grey header.

Hey Devs...update the app. I'm not able to receive incoming messages anymore. It shows the notification, but they are nowhere to be found unless I log in on my PC. I'll change my review back to 5 stars after it works again, the lowering was only to get your attention Thanks! You guys are awesome and I love the app

What a simple yet elegant design! It baffles me that reddit themselves cannot create a proper app for its own website when it is backed by billionaires. No more needing to hit the back button 80 times just to get back to the home page. This app makes it so easy to browse reddit, sufficiently customizable, and simple to use. It reflects the old reddit design and everything is so intuitive. I will definitely be paying for the paid version of this app to support the developer. The only suggestion is to have push notifications.

I've been using this app for years now and it's always been a great experience. Customization is good for my needs and the speed/response within the app is great as well. Ads in the app are not intrusive, which is great!

Love this app, what an absolute amazing layout it has too. It's like using old reddit but on your phone! The app is a MUST for those who can't stand the new Reddit redesign and official app. RiF is much more lightweight than the laggy official app as well. The developers for RiF seem to really care about preserving the old reddit experience, and I can't thank them enough for doing that. Please keep doing what you're doing! 👍

Significantly less bloated than default reddit with a clean intuitive interface. I love the built in browser and plain video player. Also saves precious space on my phone.

Nei. K. Jan 31, 2022

Better than the actual website imo with a more concise user experience that still retains all the primary and essential functions of reddit. There's none of the fat from "new" Reddit trying to emulate other social media websites. Minimal ads and no pop-ups (they take up so little space I genuinely forget they're even there). Honestly rif is just so good that it makes the website it's for feel like a convoluted mess.

Nice to see actual posts instead of reddit's ads plastered on every scroll of a page like the official app has. This app is ad free with the toggle of a few options in the settings.

Rhi. W. Mar 2, 2022

I've never left a review on the play store, but RIF has earned one. This app makes Reddit a delight. It's highly customizable, and often doesn't even have ads in it where there should be. I've been using it for probably 8 years, many hours a day, and it performs flawlessly for me. I'll (hopefully) never use another app for Reddit!

Bry. N. May 24, 2022

Simply the best reddit viewer in existence. I was not paid or compensated for this review... Just love a great app and want others to know. Whenever I set up a new phone this is the first app I install!

-EDIT: it's fixed! Thank you. I can't log in. I fill in my information and it just deletes it afterwards. Tried my browser and I could log in there, just not in this app. Please fix this
