As the other guy said, mini player support would be great, and having the app stop your video after switching out and then back in is very annoying.

Background play implementation is broken. Listened to the last 10 minutes of a podcast the other day and never cleared the media notification. Phone dropped battery significantly and battery usage shows this app as having hours and hours of usage. It doesn't seem like the background player actually operates in the background and even if the app isn't playing anything it still uses the resources as if it was. I was able to reproduce this consistently.

The videos run fine, but the UI is not great. Finding videos is a pain unless you know the exact words in the exact order, you can't make playlists like on the desktop version, and trying to navigate the comment section when someone replies to you is a pain. Good for watching videos, bad for everything else.

cureently having issues with volume? unless audio is completely muted on my phone, the volume of the video doesnt change? i can have something absolutely blasting from spotify, swap over to RT, change nothing, and the audio will be at a calm low level. if i turn it down, no change. otherwise good app! dont have any playback issues, comments work fine, no log in issues. just the audio. this is on a google pixel 6 with the latest android security patch and most up to date RT app.

Search function almost never pulls up anything remotely related to the words I type (eg. I typed RT Podcast and it pulled up a ton of Chump episodes) I REALLY really wish y'all would let the app minimize. I love listening to a lot of the podcast content and I like having the window there if I wanna look when something funny happens but having the big version is unnecessary almost always.

The content is golden, the app is lead. When I'm casting, I might as well wait a week and just do it from YouTube because the quality would be better. The fact that I also have to skip forward or backwards by 30 seconds as opposed to YouTube's 10 seconds is a very odd choice. Also, Low/Medium/High for video quality means nothing if there is not a number attached. Needs work.

Since I recently became a sponsor again I started using the app a lot. My YouTube usage has dropped significantly, which is because of this app. The resume function is not always working. Meaning if I have stepped out of the app and then steo back the video does not begin from the same spot unfortunately. The search function could use some work. I have a hard time finding the shows I want. I e the search strings is not represented in the results.

I love RT, and have been a huge fan for nearly 10 years, but this app is riddled with bugs. My biggest problem is the downloads feature; even when I download a video for offline it still uses 100% of my data as if I'm watching it normally, un-downloaded. So I have to physically turn my data off when I want to watch the downloads which causes a never-ending spam of "you're offline" error messages, plus the videos only play 50% of the time, the other 50% it just sits on a black screen. Needs work.

This app has been in the works for so long and it's still so disappointing. I just unsubscribed to FIRST because with all the problems, it's just not worth subscribing if using the app is your main method of viewing. -Videos constantly freeze -- Many of your users will use their phones only. If you're going to push for app usage, it has to be better than this. EDIT: I've been corrected, the app does have offline and background play, but videos still freeze constantly. Thank you for the help!

The app itself is alright, bar one glaring problem: downloads. For example, I recently decided to rewatch gen:LOCK because I haven't watched it in well over a year. Downloaded every episode to watch offline. I go to watch "The Pilot" on my phone (not connected to WiFi). The episode will not play. The app also acts as though I'm logged out and displays the rest of the season as FIRST exclusives. EDIT: Videos don't even play on WiFi now. This is terrible and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Wonderful well encoded video player and diverse set of well made and enjoyable shows. Unfortunately, for the last bit of time the player has become less responsive, doesnt respond to taps while playing, and if I play a podcast or video and tab to another app, when I return to this app, the video crashes out and I have to re-find it. Will put back to 5 stars if this issue is resolved.

Great app. Surely better than what it used to be. The content is great for such a small price. One issue that is keeping this from a five star though. With Android's newest past few versions requires you to swipe up where the home bar is to reach the home button on phones that don't have a physical one, this causes an issue while watching videos in full screen, to reach my home bar by swiping it also pushes the video forward ten seconds because it is the same gesture, a simple fox for this would be the option to skipping ahead ten seconds to be a swipe or a double tap in the respective area.

So first off, love all the content y'all put out. but this is a really weird issue that I keep having and I never used to have it. After an update (3.6.3 I think, found an old phone that didn't have the bug) I have a weird bug. While watching a video in full screen and you swipe ANYWHERE on the screen the video closes and you are sent back to the screen you were on before you watched the vid. If you tap the screen the controls come up as they should. [Edit they fixed it it works a charm now :)]

TL;DR: The casting quality on the app is the worst I have ever seen. I could paint the frames and it would be clearer. The Good: This app is great for watching RT on my phone. UX is pretty good and everything is found where you would expect. The Bad: I got the app purely to cast to a Chromecast and the videos are unwatchable. The bitrate goes down the drain and never improves. I know it isn't my problem as I have a gigabit connection and when I uncast everything shows up perfectly. RT pls fix

Great way to get focused notifications on the RT shows I watch, but sometimes the video won't load or just freezes up and I'll have to restart the app a few times for it to get working again. I have a free membership and the adds are not bad at all, which is a great plus. Once the video problems are fully resolved easy 5/5 for the app.

Love the app. the latest update brought organization to the chaos. just wish you could play series in order instead of it playing part 2 before part 1. I get they want you to watch the newest episode but it doesn't work for some series. also wish they could fix the content that doesn't play correctly. seems to effect videos pre-2015, audio with stopped video, or both stopped yet the timer still counting.

You take five minutes to open the app. You sign in, or make a new account. You go to watch your favourite show that was removed from YouTube in a move that no one liked. It plays for 30 seconds on the lowest quality. It freezes. The app crashes when you try to close it. You reopen the app, try to download the episode, to skip the horrendous and repeated crashes. You have to have a monthly subscription to download the episodes. Back to DailyMotion it is, I guess.

This app is useless as a streaming platform. All it's good for is a discovery tool. Half of the features on this app are broken and have been left unattended to for over a year now and trying to do anything account related, even something as simple as changing your profile image, crashes the app. You are better off using your web browser for streaming and account management.

App has issues continuously streaming if I was not on WiFi. Stopping and closing the app is the only way to get the videos to work properly, but then if I tried to skip ahead to where I was at before the close I could not watch the video and got the "Something went wrong with the playback" message. Older content, and I mean like pre2016 videos, simply do not work. Glad to see all us (grandfathered) FIRST member's money being put to good use, seeing as we pay the same as everyone else now.

This app worked great for awhile, and it's been stuck on the downloads screen for months and won't let me go to any other screen. I've uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared cache, everything I know to do, and still on the download screen with no other options. So I can't watch any content. I'll continue using the site but the chromecast compatibility on the mobile site is iffy at best. Hope this gets fixed soon!

Absolutely amazing, even with the free version, no ads (that ive found yet) a lot of shows, and you already know about rwby, literally the only thing that i have a problem with is it takes a while for the controls to go away, and you cant tap to make it go away instantly, so it would be nice if you added an option in the settings for that, it feels like it had actual effort put into it 9.5/10 great job devs! Edit: there are ads but very minimal

There are some minor bugs, but the app is great nonetheless. My personal opinion is that the swipe to skip feature while playing the video should be similar to that of YouTube, it's way too confusing in it's current state UPD: Had a funny conversation with support. I thoroughly described my problem yet they completely misunderstood and gave me a lame "solution"
