Just like so many before me, the new app is abysmal. Worst of all is scanning. It used to show you the one product you scanned and if there was a deal for it. Now there is a confusing list of "related" products that makes no sense whatever when trying to see if you have the right one you wanted. As bad as the app is in general it's now worse. The May 17 update crashes every time I try to select an item in For U.

I prefer the old version, now it keeps going back to "let's get started." It is so frustrating that I have to go through all that just to look at the deals. It is difficult to find offers like spend $75 get 50 cents off and 2X or 3X rewards in this department. In the old version those popped up right away. I can't find coupons without scanning a product. I don't want to see online shopping or order & pick up options. They do not fit my lifestyle. Unfortunately there is no way to opt out.

I have updated, then Uninstalled and installed again and there are still issues with the app trying to see descriptions of items. When you go to the tab for assistance or complaints it is unable to reach them and says try again later. Get it together Safeway, the old app was great. Whoever made a decision to change this (probably to collect more Data from the people) may have had a good idea, but the IT who designed it did a terrible job. Too many tabs or not enough server capacity!

Great app, saves a lot of money versus apps like Instacart with coupon clipping and membership savings. Only bad thing is when a product is out of stock in your shopping cart, the suggestions on "Similar products" are pretty terrible and you just end up going to search it back up at the main screen anyways. That algorithm needs some work.

Placing my order was easy enough. However, payment did not work. I went through the entire process, but the app would not allow me to "Place My Order." Also, getting the drop-down menu to work from the home page took many attempts before it would finally work. This is all very unfortunate. I was looking forward to placing my pickup order. Unfortunately, I will have to order from Walmart again.

The old app was better in every way, save for the fact that "Recent Purchases" often bugged. However, in comparison, just about EVERYTHING on this app is bugged. Opening my purchase history now crashes the app. Adding something to my cart returns an error and an empty cart. Opening rewards, IF it hasn't reset them, also glitches or crashes the entire app. This app is a nightmare to use.

I miss the old app when it was still just for you. Admittedly it was 2 sites, but they were clear and easy to navigate, intuitive, well organized, and had great search cabilities. This new combined site is a mess. Each new release disappoints me in not getting it back under control to what we as shoppers need or want in an app. Please fix this Safeway. I've already submitted multiple feedback about various functionality to date, and not one has been improved.

As of the beggining of March 2022, each update will delete reward points. I've lost 5 points that way. Knowing that, I try to use them before each update except now they expire at seemingly random intervals. I also don't get the notification they will expire soon anymore. Trying to contact or report the issue leads me to blank pages on both the app and website so I cannot even report the issue.

The previous app was fine and straight forward. I lost deals at the store due to the conversion. This app is too busy/hectic. With all the busy in the world, perhaps going to the grocery store should be a bit less hectic and simply sensible. I'm going to have to retrain myself and then my elderly parent on how to maneuver on this new busy app. Did any one let the store associates know of the change, or only the people in the towers knew? The confusion and frustration at store level was visible.

I really REALLY hate the new app. My blood pressure rises every time I go into the store now. I have to argue with the cashier to get the deals because the app won't work. The old app was great. Easy to use... this one won't work, doesn't load, is slow and keeps reloading the same page. It took me three times as long to shop yesterday. I won't be using it again and we'll find my deals somewhere else if I can.

This app is frustrating to use. Out of stock items show up early in the results, which doesn't make sense. The delivery notes don't get passed to the driver. They canceled my order halfway through my delivery time frame "due to high volume" and didn't even send me a notification. I'll never use Safeway again

Afterthought of an app. This checks all the boxes of an app a major brand knows they have to have but don't want to spend the money to develop/maintain. 1. Slow interface, check 2. Hard to filter with results that don't match normal searches, check. 3. Non intuitive interface, double check. 4. Updates that take away usability but are easy to roll out, check. Just a highlight, the app changed my default store to Hawaii and sent my pick up order for there.

It's been glitchy ever since they redesigned the app. Now it's worse, I can't get it to do anything-- it gives me an error message for everything. I had to use the website last time. Also-- the app has a thing where you can select substitutions, but it doesn't always work-- I get the default subs a lot of the time instead of what I selected.

Extremely squrelly app. When I press on the home screen even while at my house with strong wifi, it simply hangs and won't open the home screen. In the store itself it's hopeless. There is no wifi in my store and for whatever reason, the coverage bars go down from around 3.5 to 0.5, so that fact alone makes it almost impossible to use it in the store 2/2022. The app, if anything, is worse than it was before. Constantly get the "we're sorry, we're having technical problems"

It does a poor job of trying to get all 3 apps into one . The Rewards app, the drive up and go app, and the delivery app. It's setup in a very confusing way. When you start you don't know which app you're going into. And has a very hard and long learning curve However after you learn to use the app properly. You can save a lot of money with it

New update terrible, the new update for this Safeway app is terrible, it's difficult to navigate for so much change from the old one, it's very slow, it's hard to find your your shopping list. Whenever you try to clip a deal or a coupon it goes to your shopping cart for home delivery not your shopping list for in-store. The categories four different sale items is all messed up. Very disappointed, I wish there was a way to remove the update

Update: Well I didn't think it could get worse but it did. I wonder if they want it to be difficult to find and use for some reason. I understand when things change it's difficult and then you get use to it. I can't find Just4u items. Try and search deals that should show up don't. I hate it and likey will give up shopping from itthe I save a lot of money by using this app. *Update* for the last 6 months or so the app isn't that great. Doesn't have everything in the weekly ad or the just for U.

The older version was so much better. This new update app doesn't work. It won't let my scan the U coupons. Disappointed with this update. Should have never updated. Please look into this so and fix issues. UPDATE: Finally got the app working and was okay with it. But recently purchased the new Samsung s22 and now it won't let me scan. A Scan and screen comes up to explain what to do and won't let me exit. How do I get rid of the screen when there's no X to close?

I really miss the just 4 you. Now when I try to get deals shown in the newspaper ads, half the time they do not come up. Even worse, when I select items for my list, I'll look at the list later and find none of the items have been added. It seems that they went into the delivery area of the app. I hate this app. I really really hate this app. It needs to go back to how it originally was or be modified so that it is easier to use and does what you want it to do.

This app used to be simple & basic years ago, every update has made it increasingly annoying to just view & add coupons. The User Interface is terrible with all of the extra tabs & graphics. I used to enjoy coming to the app and simply downloading coupons, adding items to a list from the ad & going about my business. I'm not a senior citizen yet, but I think about those that are, this is not user-friendly anymore. I honestly would rather add from the website these days....which has also changed.
