Safeway One Touch Fuel

Doesn't work. My Safeway account is linked but I don't see any rewards. The FAQ page doesn't work - clicking on any FAQ link is non responsive and then the app crashes. Overall this is poorly implemented.

Not quite ready for prime time. I was able to login to my Safeway account although it was unclear that I had successfully done so. Location services quickly found all of the nearby Safeway gas stations. However, when I attempted to load in a credit card for payment, the app hangs up evrrytime I try to save the credit card info. Bummer, I hope this gets worked out.

Been using this app for over a year and it has been great, never experienced a problem until today. App won't open and defaults to a screen that reads "Please upate your app. Current version is depricated." The misspellings are not mine, that is what is written on the app's update prompt screen. Disregard the misspelling of the word 'deprecate', but it's meaning doesn't even apply in the sentence. Worried app has been hacked, but removing payment forms isnt possible as I can' open the app

Its an amazing idea, and I imagine it would an amazing app if I could actually add a payment method. I have been trying to add a payment method for at least 6 weeks now and each time I get stuck on a loading screen. I hoped that after the latest update the app would work, but no luck there.

Mostly unusable, When at the pump it does not select the pump number you are at even with Bluetooth turned on. When one tries to select the pump manually by swiping left or right to select the pump number, the button at the bottom to proceed stays greyed out so it is impossible to use to pay. Not sure how it is suppose to work to manually select the pump sometimes I do something that makes the button activate but only for a split second. Also, as some others have reported debit cards entered as payment are given the credit price not the cash price. UPDATE: Tried again today to pay with this app, however now before I even got to the other issue above, it is telling me that the station has disabled direct pay. Since it seems this is the only payment method (debit cards get the credit price) that gets the cash price, I am unable to get the cash price which is normally 10¢ less. Not getting the cash price to get a smaller discount doesn't make sense. I have decided to uninstall the app for this reason.

Tried to use the app today. Got the message: "Please upate [sic] your app. Current version is depricated [sic]". 2 out of 8 words misspelled is a bad sign! Why didn't the app auto-update like all other apps? So I uninstalled, and then installed the version now on the Play Store (2.3.1). Ran it, and got the SAME ERROR! "depricated". So now the app is completely unusable! Whoever does the work on this app is doing a TERRIBLE job and needs to be replaced. Come on Safeway, you can do better!

I would like to have the fuel prices displayed by default and if I move the map, locations update for the new area. I would also like "favorite" or "frequent" locations that would have the price displayed. I do like the function of the app automatically selecting the location I'm at when I pull up to the pump.

Updated. It was working for a while, now it's back to broken! This app is worthless. For three weeks now the "backend" as the error calls it has not been working. The first time this happened, I called support, and two weeks later I got confirmation that it was working again. I'm not sure why they even keep this app up and operating, if it's not going to work over and over again. The few times that it does work, it's a huge time-saver, so I keep trying. I hope they get this fixed!

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!! This app totally sucks. It claims to make things faster because of the included features. One huge problem with that being that the features don't work. You also lose the debit card savings because the app treats your debit card as a credit card. If you say you want a printed receipt at the pump, be prepared to take a walk to the clerk inside to get one. Then there's the whole way it handles the transaction. For example, three hours ago, I used the app for the first, last and only time I ever will. The charge is still appearing as a $1.00 hold in my bank account rather than the $24.00 dollars of fuel purchased implying that I have $23.00 more than I actually do in my bank account. This app could've been a game changer during the pandemic but fails horribly.

Took all my rewards and the support hasn't fixed anything!

I downloaded the app for the first time and the features look good.....but I get a message saying to download a newer version of the app because the current version is deprecated. That is silly because I just downloaded it. I even deleted the app and redownloaded it.

This app worked great for months, but it says it's "deprecated" and I need to update, but there's no update available and the app no longer works. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, same result.

This app does not work. It freezes after you try to input a credit card so I cannot use it. It appears that this has been ongoing issue for quite a while and it's quite clear that Safeway does not care. this app would allow me to purchase Safeway gas more often unfortunately for now I will be sticking to 76 gas until this is fixed.

Works great, although i had to clear app data, and reset my password to be able to login. Now that i got it working, it's much faster to start fueling. Didn't have any issue about adding payment method. Maybe those people should try other cards, and clearing app data.

Gave this a try. Everything seemed to work fine, except for my $. 90/gal rewards were not applied. I double checked my settings and from what I can see they should have. This would be a very good app if the rewards were applied properly.

This app is pathetic. Whoever gave it a 2.7 rating was being generous. Done of its functions don't work. For example, try selecting the "Email Receipt" option. Not only is it unreadable but when selected does nothing. Other Safeway apps are similar. Don't waste your time with this app.

Works perfect everytime I use it. But... recently noticed I get charged the "credit" price even though my debit is used with the app- that's unfortunate and with gas prices going up. I'll go back to saving 10 cents a gallon and skip the app.

At least 2 updates since I downloaded. Still asks for a password that I do not have and cannot create as I already have an account with safeway, but they don't use passwords anymore. And when you call they can't help you with the fuel app. Waste.

It was working great until today, when it won't recognize being next to the pump and wants to have me pick a fuel center to drive to. The in-app map shows me at the fuel center, but still won't recognize that fact. The FAQ tab remains a white page (no content whatsoever) and I can't seem to find any customer service contact information to call or email and complain. This is a very poor way to treat your customers.

The app no longer gives me and my discount points. It's a little frustrating. I ended up having 40 cents off a gallon, but because the app would not show I paid retail for the gas and had to use my credit card like normal. It kind of defeats the purpose of the app.

Something changed, I was not being credited in the gas app for the hundreds I've been spending and now it says to update to new version but when I do, it reinstall the old app over and over and I get nowhere. I think this is on purpose because of the gas shortages and price gauging...

To much info to enter in phone! Never could complete the signup! Called the help # on Safeway Club. Have lost lots of rewards. Found out that some one else was registered using our home phone #, have changed the phone number so that hopefully I can enter the new number at the pump and use the points to lower the gas price. Will never use the app, read all of the reviews, some mention that they cannot get the discount for using an ATM card. Not worth the trouble to sign up for the app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, need four more words to make this a helpful review of the app, so let me repeat what is stated below regarding the app, HATED IT!!!!

Use it all the time, excellent app. Very convenient. Pull up, set your amount & pump# & your set. No unnecessary touching dirty buttons everyone's touched or having to run inside if your in a hurry or there's long lines. I get my receipts emailed so I can easily track my gas purchases for work each month.

App is terrible, have to continually add my card. And then after loading it, the system is in loading status and won't add card. Thought it would be useful, but just quicker to use debit card.

Does this app work? I continually get error message.

Inputting credit card just loops and the screen stays blank until i close thr app. Tried 5-6 times over the last week and never worked. Might want to test the app at least once before release...

Makes it easy to fill up. If you add your bank account through the newer direct pay feature it will charge the debit price for gas which people were having issues with when using debit cards. I also haven't had issues adding my fuel rewards. Good app

I tried to use it twice. It failed to authoize both times on different days at different pumps. Update: after the 9/10 bug fix it worked for me. It was a fast way to pay.

The application kept denying my payment method. I'd call support 20+ minutes later it works then 3 fill ups later .cancels. I would then use that same payment method to pay at the pump manually no issue. Now, while I am parked in a safeway gas station it states none within 50miles. Updated location even put the address of the gas station.
