SavingStar - Grocery Coupons

I've been using the app since 2015 or 2016. It works well as long as you remember what rebates you have saved, if you don't you literally have to scroll through every single item on your list because there's no search bar; Very frustrating while in the store. Also not a fan of how they changed the payout from $5 to $20, takes WAY longer to cash out now. Outside of those 2 things, I love it.

Have been using this app for a few years now and love it, easy way to save a few more dollars, especially in times like this. I do wish they had more relevant content to what I purchase though, many items are not things we ever buy. The other issue was that the app was staying on a white screen for about a month and all of the items I purchased that I should have gotten money back never went thru for some reason and I missed out on about $7-8 last month...not cool.

As much as I love free money, this program is full of glitches. I buy things that are featured and nothing happens... No money. The biggest issue is when they email me new items but when I click on the "Get $x.xx" button in the email it brings me to the app with an error message telling me "this item is no longer available" every time. Then the app freezes. Total waste of time.

I have saved a good bit but I do get frustrated at times with the UPC scanner. I could purchase something that is exactly what is pictured in the offer and it will pop up and tell me the product doesn't qualify. I have even scanned in store to check if the item qualifies and then when I go to scan and submit my receipt, it tells me that the item indeed does not qualify when it earlier said it did. Very frustrating when I sometimes buy the product because of the rebate and don't actually get it.

I really liked this app, but it has constant issues. The barcode scanner is very finicky, It keeps telling me that items don't qualify, even though I know they do. Sometimes it will say this after I have already scanned a different item with the exact same barcode. It allows keeps telling me that there was a problem uploading my receipt. If they get these issues fixed, it would be 5 stars!

Like the App but it has some ups and downs. SavingStar has generally worked well over the past few years; it has given me some good deals and I have saved some money at the stores. There has been just one hiccup and ironically it's just been over this past month -- suddenly it has stopped giving me credit when I make a purchase that I have selected...hopefully the issue will be solved soon and I will be able to rate it higher. Other than that, it has mostly been a pretty good app.

This is a really clunky app. It's usually difficult to submit receipts for rebates. Even though Rite Aid and CVS are stores they accept receipts from, I can never find the stores in the list, which you have to choose before submitting a receipt. It's honestly more trouble than it's worth. I dont know if I'll ever get to the minimum threshold to get my rewards back, even though I've done more than enough deals that would qualify! Super disappointing.

When I first got the app,they had great offers,including things like fresh produce. Now,they rarely, if ever, have any produce offers. Additionally, they have a clause that will deduct $3.99 a month if you don't use a rebate for 180 days. Because they rarely have anything I buy anymore, I hadn't used it and lost all of my earnings! It's difficult to accumulate the minimum of $20 with the items they offer, then they deducted all that I had earned!

Wish it would be easier to use and more rebates. Having to scan all of the product codes is annoying. Half of the time when I remember to redeem my receipt I've already used the items and thrown out the container and then I lose out. I haven't been able to cash out yet so I can't rate that yet. Overall it's ok. Not as good as Ibotta, etc.

I really like this app, but it has some issues. First I would really love it if it would take receipts from Sprouts farmer's market. I shop there often and have seen or bought about 14 items from the saving star account, but it wont take the receipts. I also would like an option to deactivate offers, so that I can get them on checkout 51 instead as that app does take my Sprouts receipts. It messes up quite a bit and kicks me out of the app. It's very inconvenient when I'm double checking that I'm taking the correct product. I do love this app, just needs some fixing.

The app stays white. I read that it is a slow app, however mine will not load at all. I have literally sat with my phone waiting for the app to come on for 10 min and nothing just a white page. Yes, I un-istalled and re- installed several times. I also updated the app and my phone. I emailed them about it and no answer. Not even a "we got your email and are looking into the problem. " I hate it because so many of the couponers I follow use it.

This app is inoperable using mobile data, it shows a blank white screen if you try to open and use it. Once you are using WiFi to connect to the Internet, it opens just fine. You cannot scan an item or see what rebate is available while you are in a store that does not provide free WiFi. Is there anyone associated with the development of this app even reading the comments?

Can't scan any receipt that's more than one frame, which is almost all receipts. First pic is fine, but then it goes to screen for next section and camera button does nothing. Same result on multiple devices. Just when you think this app is getting better, it does this kind of thing. I have a theory it's to keep from having to pay out any money.

The app is okay. The approval takes awhile and clipping the rebate BEFORE going shopping requires a good bit of planning. The camera function has a small frame and the focus isn't the best. The app takes a min to initially load such can be frustrating. It took me a min to realize once you add a rebate it goes to your list and is removed from the main list.

Not many coupons to use. The program changes each time I try to redeem a receipt for a qualified purchase so I usually miss out for one minute reason or other. Poor customer service; other coupon apps will apply the rewards if you show them your receipt matches their savings. Not Savings Star. Have tried for a few years to get a redemption check. Am giving up, especially now that they deduct your rewards for an inability to find deals that appeal to what you shop for. Don't waste your time.

The app is very hit or miss. Only works maybe half of the time. The item will actually be pictured and it will still not accept. Also app randomly closes all the time. This is beginning to be a waste of time. I will be deleting if it doesn't improve soon. When it works great app! That is why I rated a 2 and not 1.

I am missing out on $5 in offers because Everytime I try to take a pic, the app stops working and closes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. This is the second time this has happened out of 2 attempts. I will try this receipt once more, but if it does not work, I will be uninstalling the app and no longer going to bother with it

I usually just use the website for SavingStar, but just recently got a new Android phone and decided to try the app. I can't even submit a receipt with the app. It just keeps stopping constantly. It will open, but whenever I try to add a receipt, it just stops. Very frustrating. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but keep having the same issue.

I have been using this app for years and have almost $2k in rebates from them. This is the most reliable savings app there is. A lot of the stores you just add your loyalty card and the manual ones are fast and simple. Customer Service(I've only had to contact them about once a year) is fast and isn't a hassle.

Almost every time that I buy something on your list, when I scan to see if it qualifies in the store, it does, but when I get it home to submit it, it says it's not a qualifying product. It's frustrating. Is there a way you can upgrade your system to maybe store it as a qualifying purchase when scanned in the store and then pull it back up when it's time to submit? I've actually lost about half of my purchases as rebates since I joined. Review my many emails to see.

2 years using it and haven't reached $10. Most brands listed are high end product for its categories. Never something easy to catch, no search function on purpose so you have to scroll the whole list every single time. Don't hurt yourself and waste your time with this app. There are others 100 times better. As soon as I reach the threshold, will cash out and uninstall this one for good.

This app is great when it works, but I'm frequently finding I have to scan items multiple times before it will acceot them as qualifying items for an offer. It also crashes and freezes on me a lot. The thing that keeos me using it, however, is their customer service. Their agents are always very polite and helpful.

It's ok. Must click rebate before purchase or else it won't count. Since they raised the limit from $5 to $20 for payout, I'm not as eager to use SS and rarely do. The products are hit or miss, but way better than Checkout 51, but not as good as Ibotta, so it takes a lot longer to get paid. I've only cashed out twice with SS in 2 YEARS, total of $25. My Ibotta payout is almost $800. Also, the app never gave me credit for 5 boxes of Kellogg's cereal that was linked through my CVS loyalty card. 👎

I'd like to see more common household and toiletry items (laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpast, etc). Also, the app doesn't work well when taking a pic of a long receipt. It freezes after taking the first pic of the receipt. It is almost impossible to "add a section". This app doesn't even compare to Ibotta. When I reach the $20 threshold, I'm redeeming my money and uninstalling this app.

The app has gotten worse . It doesnt open. I've updated:closed all my windows and nothing .its finicky and opens when it wants which defeats the purpose of finding deals when I need them. I'm so close to 20$ and it's been months since I can pick a new rebate to even cash out. I feel like I've been scammed.

Adding that the app freezes anytime (everytime!) you take and submit receipt photos. --- Has the potential to be so much better, but needs work. It takes too long to load. Rebates that are emailed are often unavailable. And overall, the app is just not as user friendly as it should/could be.

This app was working perfectly until yesterday when I was unable to take a pic of my receipt. I reinstalled the app with the same result. Had to send a message to support to try and figure out what the problem is. Have had good luck with redemptions and support. Support has always responded quickly to my requests. Once this is fixed, I will give this app a 5 star review.

I have been using the apl for years. In the beginning I found I was saving a lot. Now that the cash out amount is higher and the products I buy are hardly ever an option, I'm finding the app useless. I almost always forget to upload my target and walmart receipts so I always miss those savings. Overall a great app fast deposits but the selection of products I dont use or the buy many is too many for me.
