• Add Scanner Radio widgets and shortcuts to your home screen for quick access (app cannot be installed on SD card to access them).
• Add a "Scanner Radio Favorite" shortcut to your home screen to launch a scanner feed via an alarm clock app or automation app.
• Listen to Broadcastify.com's audio archives to listen to audio that's been archived over the past 6 months Note: You *must
* have an account on Broadcastify.com and purchase their "Premium Membership" ($15 for 6 months) in order to access their archives using the app.
• Supports Android Auto.
This is the free version of the app, below are the benefits of purchasing the Pro version (for only $2.99):
• Access to all 6 theme colors (requires Android 5.x or 6.x).

• Ability to record the audio.
• Player controls on the lock screen (version 4.x of the app only).
• The play button at the top of the directory screens and on the widgets can be used to start listening.
• With the "Scanner Radio Pro Locale PlgIn" plug-in is also installed you can have Locale/Tasker launch the app and have one of your Favorites automatically begin playing based on one or more conditions or have the app stop playing. One use for this feature is to have a scanner feed begin playing when your phone connects to a specific Bluetooth device and then have it stop when the connection to that Bluetooth device is no longer present.
The audio is provided by volunteers (primarily for Broadcastify.com) using real scanner radios.

Explanation of why a couple of permissions are needed:
• The "Location" permission is required so that the app can determine what scanners are located in your area when you select "Nearby Scanners". When you select "Nearby Scanners" the app first attempts to determine your location via the network, if that fails the app then tries to determine your location via GPS.
• The "Photos/Media/Files" / "modify or delete the contents of your USB storage" permission is required in order for the app to support the ability for you to record the audio you're hearing and be able to save it to a location that you can access from your computer (requires Scanner Radio Pro to be installed or for you to be using Scanner Radio Pro).

Good app, but alerts are hit and miss. Sometimes you'll get an alert sometimes you won't. Even after adjusting settings to be on the more sensitive side.
Have been using scanner radio pro for years that I purchased from Amazon and now it's not supported so I installed it from the Play store it's working great again. It did talk to the support team and they are fantastic thank you.
I don't know what happened to this scanner app it used to work great.. I know it works with volunteers that use their computer... now the only place you can hear clearly is Chicago and I don't live there...
The app used to work well, BUT, it's becoming more plagued with instrusive adds. Full screen adds that count down before you can close the add. Not cool. If they can't remove the intrusive adds, look elsewhere as there are good alternatives.
When the sirens are wailing it is great to be able to great to be able tort pick up my phone 🤳📱 turn on my scanner and find out what's going on out there. It has also added another dimension to my writing and getting a fuller story then what the mainstream news is not telling me. Well worth every byte.
Just had it a little while, but so far it's top notch ! Comparing it to others it's far above. Plenty of options, laid out well, audio is clear. Ads are not a problem at all. Thanks for your hard work in developing a great app !
This app used to work great. For the past two days there isn't any sound. I've tried everything like adjusting all volume settings and even uninstalled, then reinstalled. I'm at a loss. I really love this app 😩
the one feed that we like has constant issues. doesn't matter which version, the person running the feed obviously doesn't care if it works or not. App customer service is great, but this BONEHEAD wil not respond to anyone regarding their lack of ability to provide consistency with audio. It's a shame but this one nimrod is ruining the app
This used to have a really simple interface and the ads didn't take over the entire screen for 10 to 30 seconds after you stop listening to one channel to switch to another. Alas, "progress."
This used to be a great app. Not sure what happened, nowhere near the audio comes through anymore. Very spotty, half transmissions, missing audio, I've started using another app as this one just isn't the best for me anymore. I can't verify if it's on the developer's end or the local police side of things, but the app doesn't deliver. I'd estimate I hear about 25-30 percent of what's actually going on so I've found another app that provides solid audio feed. I hope they get it fixed soon.
Use to be ok app. But how the adds work have become ridiculous. They now are so in your face ,not only fill the entire screen you cannot close them for a long time . That is if you can find the (usually) very tiny x or close button that is never in the same place. This happens to me with every app interaction. Time to move on , unistalling this app.
Overall easy to use. I wish the voice was more clear but I guess that's just how it is with most scanners. It was my favorite scanner app but the past few months it randomly stops. The app will be open, I'll be listening, but then it just turns off. I have to go back in and push play. Because at times it goes silent we don't always realize when it's actually stopped entirely. -- Thanks for the tip I will try it and see if it works 👍
The ads now tie up your phone and is not good if you are having an emergency and need to get to other sections of your phone like making a call. A stupid galaga type game is popping up on mine and you have to hit the little x in the top right corner not once but twice! Meaning it closes but then continues on to another game and then you hit the x again to finally get out. Very frustrating when you can't escape it and close it out and use the rest of your phone.
This is total garbage!!! I understand ad's, but this is overkill!! When the ad started I couldn't leave unless I press the home button of my phone!!! I would have probably bought it, but the overkill of the ad, turned me off to your app!!!
Per the developer, I opened all those apps and stations myself, so it's my fault. I don't know what to say; I'm not lying to him. If he found settings turned on, perhaps the new phone I just installed the app on did it. I have just gotten a Nokia X100 and had other problems with it. But he knows after my 25+ yrs in EMS and Fire, I know what is running, what I set up, etc. He's done dealing with the issue and me, so don't tell him anything contrary to what he says and what he says is the gospel.
Great app when it works for the last 2 weeks I've had zero audio or white noise at all. No idea what the issue is.
Forces full screen ads that are impossible to exit. Tapping the X to close the ad only spawns another ad. Powering off the phone may be the only way to escape the ads due to 100% of the screen being taken by the ads with no means to close either the app or the ads. I don't know how this nonsense is allowed by Google.
Best scanner app out there by far!!. Just wish alot of Massachusetts towns were actually listed... Plus I really wish it was able to actually scan multiple towns at once... Like a real police scanner...
App has a persistence problem that drains battery. Swiping app away does not close it and requires a forced close each time or it will stay in the notification panel EVEN IF you manually stop the station from playing too. There needs to be an easier more obvious way to end this app and it hasnt been addressed in awhile!
