I have been using this app since it first started years ago. It was excellent for finding offbeat songs. Since it was purchased by Apple it has seriously gone down hill. It used to be fantastic at finding absolutely everything. It doesn't any more and I suspect it is only finding songs you can buy from ITunes. It also used to be just a straight up app that did what it said but now it seems to be more tuned towards trapping and compiling data. I'm currently looking for a replacement.
It is pretty good. I played some songs that aren't to popular and it still got them right. It also is able to identify the song through headphones (like if you are playing music through headphones it will still be able to pick it up.) I only gave it 4 stars however because at least for me it gets a little glitchy at times otherwise it is really good and simple, and is a great idea to help people recognise songs!! Would recommend 🤩
Good at "SHAZAM"-ING/capturing(most of)the songs I look for; but not as good(for the ones that have this option)at staying in sync, lyric-wise, with where I play the song(s)for a lot of them(they keep playing the lyrics the moment I successfully Shazam them and don't stop or reset until their finished, regardless of if I stop playing it and then restart). Other than the lyrics issue though, it's a great app
I've had Shazam for about 5 years. Each phone I get (which isn't many) I instantly download this app and put a widget of it on my home screen. Never had any issues. I love that it has the option for most songs to view the lyrics. It gives details on the artist and the option to go back to the list of songs you "shazamed". One of my favorite tools on my phone! You may get a "No result" but it's not often.
I love this app. My personal music library has grown exponentially because even if I hear an ad or commercial on social media..I can capture it and save it. I just need to figure out how I can keep it on the screen at all times if needed. I've been able to overlap it onto other apps, but if i have to remove it i have a hard time getting it to overlay.
What happened?! Used to be so good. Cannot trust it anymore. Often cannot find songs. Mostly use it when listening to jazz and classical music. I know all the classic rock titles, so don't need it when I'm listening to that. I have tried over and over on songs while they're playing and it just will not find them. These are not really rare songs either. Sometimes I will have to try countless times becausr it keeps spitting out wrong "guesses". Just happened 3 times in a row! 😳
An older versions of the app, Shazam used to automatically add songs to a Spotify playlist. This made it very easy to use, as then I could quickly reorganize within Spotify as needed. However, now it seems like that functionality's been removed from the app?? Similarly, when the app finds a match, it used to show the button to quickly open in Spotify or add to playlist in Spotify. Now it seems like the only button that's available is open in Apple Music, and there's no way to change it?? 😡
I love that I am *mostly* able to identify songs and save them on a Spotify Playlist. Widget option is choice (EASY TO ACCESS) while driving & saving songs. It's so fun to play the Playlist of Shazamed songs and get a great shuffle variety of all the different things that have caught my ear over the year. I often find myself in a 50/50 split between shazaming songs I'm familiar with just to add them to that Playlist and discovering new songs at live events/on radio while driving.
When the name of that song or the artist is right on the tip of your tongue, but just won't fully manifest and you know it will be bothering you all night, Shazam keeps us sane. 😂 This was one of the first apps I ever downloaded, and I've added it to every phones since. It's also perfect for when you hear an old song and there's one line in it that you always wondered what they were saying, as Shazam supplies lyrics for most songs, as well as information on the song, artist and album, and more.
Doesn't always find stuff. and that's fine, but the majority of the time it does saves the precious hours of my life it could take to single out a single moment in singular videos just to run it through a program to find a song. Here it's just crank up the volume, press 2 buttons, vwola baby.
Don't install the latest update, it's a bigger banner ad for Apple Music. It's a pretty good app if you have fairly commonplace musical encounters. But it's terrible with instrumentals; I could stand by a composition and Shazam it five times and get five totally different guesses, and I could keep doing it ad infinitum. I tried using the app to see if a busker was faking the violin and the results were inconclusive because I already know the app doesn't work well with instrumentals!
Really good and perfectly useful!....until now. I esp loved the offline feature bc I couldn't go online for indefinite periods of time... Then just recently I saved several offline shazams and when I finally went online, the songs were all found as usual and saved in the library— only for it to refresh just mere seconds later and after that they just disappeared like they were never there at all. Only one of those songs survived. I hope it never happens again, bc it's been really good otherwise.
When I use internet to find the title and artist of a song, the result comes in literally SECONDS! Very satisfied with the app. Especially because, unfortunately, radio stations like 96.1 and 104.1, no longer announce the title and artist, at the end of every song
Works well most of the time, but often enough I get "No Results". I wish it was possible to type in the answer to teach your database, because I usually find it elsewhere (like rewinding the podcast or asking someone). There's also no way to send feedback through the app, so I'm writing it here for all. (Maybe I could if I sign up, but I don't want to.)
I have used this app for years, and one day, my entire Shazam history was just gone. I also liked how you could see lyrics and song/album release date and info. Now you basically can do just one thing, and that's find out the song and artist. I understand that's the point, but why do you keep making it worse with each update instead of better?
I would NOT RECOMMEND this app to anyone, because I have played 4 different songs over 5 minutes long 2 times each and 1 time from start to finish and it DID NOT IDENTIFY/IDENTIFY This application is a complete waste of time. I suggest that Shazam looks more in South African music
Won't open. Keeps saying something associated with the app is disabled or not installed. I made sure everything was not disabled and it still wont open, what is it talking about? What do i not have installed suddenly when its worked great for years? Update: checked it a year later and whatever was wrong seems to have been fixed. Opened the app store and had to enable then update. Seems to function properly again. Thank you for the patch. Updated to 5 stars.
I have no words to describe the quality, accuracy, timeliness of this app. Very clean, no ads, purely working for the sake of users. I'm using this app for years and it never disappointed be not even once. It can even recognise songs from very noisy and modified audio clip. The recognise from other apps feature is outstanding. I wish I could give this app 100 stars 🌟
This app is absolutely mind-blowing! It can identify songs in a matter of seconds, and the accuracy is pretty amazing. Plus, the interface is simple and easy to understand. Shazam is now installed on all of my devices.
The app is great for mainstream pop and rock but is wrong almost everytime you play something classical or of a non western origin. I hate the fact there is no way to rate how accurate Shazam is because the app just acts like it's right 100% of the time and it's not even close to that.
I have given this app 2 stars for 2 main reasons. Reason 1: Apple bought it and now I cannot set Spotify or any other music streaming services as default. There is also a MASSIVE "Play in Apple music" button. I would instead like a play in Spotify button. Reason 2 is that the WearOS version of this app has really been shoved into the mud and doesn't even work. You go into the app, it plays an animation, then closes saying it couldn't find the song. Apple probably did this to promote watchOS.
Been u using this forever!...I wanna say about 10 years. LOVE this app!!!💜💜💜 When I look at movies or TV, I often hear the music in the background and Shazam it. By using Shazam I discover a lot of new music and styles that I enjoy along with new artists. It is a MUST on my phone..I use mine with YouTube Music, another app I love. They are so awesome together... 🥰
The app started not identifying the television show last week. It finally connected at the last song of the first round. This week it would only list the first song played in the library. Unable to play the game and very disappointed! This was something we did as a family once per week. Will this ever be fixed where we can play along with the television show again?
recently there's been issues opening the app, and when you're listening to a song in the store speed is king. but it's still a great app. takes 20 seconds maybe for it to get a hit.
I highly recommend this app as it will always recognise the songs that are playing and is good tbh. But I would like to recommend that it would be able to sync with more Google apps like ymusic and others. But other than that, this app is excellent. What are you waiting for? Download it now!😁😄
I am sorry to say that is application is completely useless on the Samsung watch4. I have tried, with the WiFi turned on and the phone connected and near the watch, to play Coldplay's "Paradise" - a reasonably well-known song with a distinct melody - on a different device whose speaker was within 20 cm from the watch's microphone (which I made sure the application had access to while it was used). the result: "Sorry, we couldn't tag your music. Try again later?" Disappointing!
