Sierra Bullets Reloading Manual V6.0

Sierra Bullets Reloading Manual V6.0 of Rifle and Handgun Reloading Data.

The development of this reloading manual app has brought exciting, new changes. Many new Sierra bullets have been added, with new cartridge types and powders. Sierra built its own Pressure Testing Lab to quantify the new loading data found within these pages.

Hey Sierra, Here is my two cents: I can appreciate the slider and find it useful for a quick overview of the load, but please give us the option for an alternate view. I'm thinking a single button to quickly switch between the views without have to go in to options. Also, it would be nice to isolate a load once you decide on a powder. You click the powder/load and it takes you to another page where I can see a more traditional view of that powders load range. Otherwise, a nice clean app.

the info is good, but hot damn it's a pain to get to! needs some incredible user interface upgrades. I get that it's a lot of data to put out, but all the scrolling and sliding has got to go. half of the screen is completely unused and taken up by information that you don't need except for a rare reference maybe. The way the muzzle velocity slider is used MUST BE CHANGED. I know you'll figure it out and I'll keep trying to get used to it.

Really should be out as a beta as it needs a lot of work to be truly useful. Navigation needs to be added for all sections except data. At least a clickable index as a quick fix to start with. Where are all the diagrams and pictures in the reloading section? The data section is very crowded on a phone but ok on a tablet. Could the different sections be shrunk and expanded by the user. Could you add a feedback button for your benefit.

So far, I like this app. Like anything else, it takes a few minutes to get used to how things work. I find the sliding velocity scale very easy to use, and useful, as well as user friendly after a small amount of use. An example is my current load for the 6.5CM, which gives a velocity of 2,615fps with the 140 gr. MK. I need a power factor that my load doesn't meet. I need something over 2,720fps. It's easy to slide the button to get the velocity I need with the powder available & charges.

Really I'd give it 2.5 stars, the interface is just really clunky and not intuitive. The real kicker though is that you have a slider to select different velocities and their corresponding charge weights, I hate it. I wish there was just a chart of min and max charges like there is in the physical book. If it weren't for that I'd give it 4 stars for sure.

The information is great, the UI could use some work. First of all cartiridges should be listed by bullet diam. rather than alphanumeric order by name, for example it makes no sense to separate .243 cal and 6mm diam like they are. The cartridge information also takes up a fair amount of screen real estate which it probably doesn't need to, especially the blurb about the cartridge history. Lastly the velocity slider, the old style of min and max charges is a lot more intuitive.

Glad to see the 6th edition has come out. It was a long wait. The app works well. I still like print and may get that too, but this works well given the limitations of trying to display this much information on such a small device. Sierra bullets are my first choice. Thanks fellows for the updated data.

Incredibly flawed. Better off not wasting hours with this app. ex: When you are looking at a caliber, half the page will be an exerpt of Sierra's effusive gushing on its characteristics. The other half is what we care about. So just scroll you might think. The scroll only moves ~6 lines of information. Imagine trying to read a load data book while the text synopsis blocks half the page permanently. The velocity slider isn't the worst thing, but doesn't need all space it takes, and need brl refL

Good Information, but the UI is pretty bad, the slider might have sounded like a good idea on paper, but is not user friendly in practice. I paid for the full version, but then cancelled before my trial period was up, I'd like to have this information on my phone, but not until they have an experienced app designer smooth things out.

Exceptional access to information and recommendations about reloading. Expertly compiled and recorded, this includes data on the most accurate load and warns of approaching higher pressure loads. Some manuals don't have this information. I find the only drawback to be it doesn't include ALL Sierra Bullets (the paper/hardbound book is in edition 8) because it's not the absolute latest book Sierra has produced. It is a darn sight better than many other guides even being a bit dated.

i liked having the loads available on my phone, but the layout of the app was weird. the load data only took about 1/3 of the screen. which made the app awkward to use. but a recent update has fixed that. now you can toggle between load data and cartridge info, using the full screen. much better. Great fix Sierra!

Reloaders must have, nothing more makes me happy when new powder or product that has been added and your manual is updated with it. great features to give you rough idea on what velocity you want to push and what would it take. $5 a year subscription is worth not having to buy a hard book copy every time something new comes out or is updated. Sierra knocked the ball out of the park with this app. I'm shore other reloading manuals are to fallow...

I've used the app for a year now No real complaints to speak of. When compared to other data, your seems to be more precise with the velocities. I compared to a certain brand of store bought ammo and tried your posted velosity of 2800fps and I'll be darned! It hit exactly the same place as the store bought ammo! That blew me away. I hope the next edition coming out has 26 nosler data.

Initially had display issues. Just doesn't work so hot on a small phone unless you use landscape mode. On my tablet its great and on my 11.6" Chromebook? Its gorgeous! I just needed to use it on the right platform. Will be happy to renew subscription next year. Load data is good for five calibers so far.

I wish you would add a search function. I was looking for bullet description/information, knew the bullet number but didn't know if it was a Pro Hunter, Gameking, etc and had to scroll through a lot of irrelevant information. I know, I could have found out the bullet type on other ways, call me lazy, but search is a main stay of apps these days. Also, a listing of bullets by caliber with good, marginal, and 'no way' listing of SAAMI chamberings would be useful. THANKS FOR THE APP!

Totally useless, pointless, unless you pay subscription. Little that was there was interesting and different. But there should be a start and max load.

I found a number of errors that can cause unsafe situations. I love that loading manuals are making transitions to apps but these typos are just really bad. FMJs are being labeled as JHP. Some OAL entries are incorrect. 1.5 should never be an OAL or a 9mm Luger cartridge! How can a new reloader trust a manual like this? Sierra needs to get someone to go over the data regardless of the sheer number of data. It's for safety and should be worth their time.

This app is just not user friendly. Instead of having minimum and maximum loads, one has to use a slider bar to change velocity, which in turn changes charge weights. It is cumbersome at best. Not worth the subscription price.

I love the idea of digital reloading apps. Great info but very hard to navigate. It also does not include a table of powder designations which is a must. Hopefully some updates rectify these issues as I love using sierra projectiles. A diary /log section to save load data would be very helpful

A. G. u. Feb 12, 2019

I'd rather download PDF's of load data than deal with an interactive version with scroll fields and sliding bars. I own the Sierra manual and don't find this app useful in a way that would replace the paper book. A valiant effort but it needs more thought.

A. G. u. Feb 18, 2019

All in all, i like the app. its convenient and concise. my main issues are no blue dot listings for 10mm auto and 357 mag pistol max loads are far lower than the previous edition especially with 2400 powder(which in most cases, stabilizes better with std primer). looking forward to the print version.

love the data. looking forward to some app updates to help the app be more user friendly. I have no issues with the app working on my LG phone. Great bullets, great information, I like the velocity slider, it would be nice to have min. and max charges too. Thanks sierra. Update 4/21/19, the last updates have been great. The app is more user friendly and they have added even more load information. I am looking forward to more information and additonal updates.

As opposed to other comments, my experience shows this manual slightly exaggerating velocities and pressures compared to powder weight (while keeping in mind barrel length and twist differences). Apparently since I paid for a subscription just to get the 3 day "trial," if I delete the app after 16 hrs, I still have to pay (no trial at all). I've used Sierra manuals for 30 years.

Not bad. Cheap way to get all of Sierra's load data. Although I really do prefer a hard copy. It would be awesome if you allowed data to be printed and maybe charged more for that option.

A. G. u. Feb 7, 2019

Terrible UI, impossible to read on a phone. Velocity slider makes no sense. I'll be canceling my subscription until Sierra works out the bugs. Seriously, a huge disappointment!

A. G. u. Feb 2, 2020

I have Sier manual and yet have to pay subscribtion to get the data! This app is not free. I am paying Sier guys when I buy their products and I have to pay them again for data readily available in internet or for smth the other guys offer for free. Sierra guys should also know, the loading data is just a guide. Every handloader develops his own recipe which might be totally different from the load data in the book. The app itself was not so friendly as the book with lot of windows overlapping.

Very good app. Easy to use and data appears to be fairly accurate, even though it is different than data contained in the previous version. Definitely worth the subscription price.

A. G. u. Feb 7, 2019

layout is very cluttered (samsung s8 active) and not very intuitive. I understand trying to get into the subscription model, but maybe sell loading info by the caliber as well or instead.
