Simple File Manager

I originally DLed bc this app said "simple" and I didn't want a bloated file manager... But they took simple to the extreme so it's way too limited imo (especially if you don't pay). You can't cut, copy, or paste files. No grid view. Antequated "search" function. Ongoing thumbnail glitch. Can't view files or swipe to view them successively. No custom settings like color options. Etc, etc. Uninstalled for a more user-friendly file manager that meets my needs.

This file explorer is okay but too basic. Both video and picture files look the same. Normally videos would have some play button icon on it or something. Also files and folder look similar and there seems to be no way to make the icons bigger. I like the color customization of the app but I need a better file explorer and I don't think the pro version would have the features that I expect.

There is no categorization of files and no way to do it manually. You can't look for "audio" files or search in "documents" "video" or "downloads". If the stock file manager does this why can't this? If you don't know the name of the file you want it's far from 'Simple' to find it. Huge disappointment. Using the Pro version on Samsung Note 20 ultra.

Have used this app on multiple devices. No ads, no bloat. No extra permissions. I love it! They have many other "simple" apps. Enough to replace every essential app that comes with your cell phone and spies on you. They are all simple,clean, straight forward and great. I bought the paid versions to support the developer. Do it! They deserve it!

It's indeed simple, runs faster than most file managers I've used. So does what it say. One thing that really annoyed me however is that they advertise things in the free version here they you can only use if you buy the pro version. If it's not available in this version, don't advertise it.

They are still the best! Simple tools may not be adding anymore bells and whistles to this free version (they have also kept it string binder and API etc free too) BUT if like me you can't use a credit card so you can't pay for their pro version it's still nice to have the free one available. Thanks! P.S. their pro version is less then a dollar; yet they do not force you to buy the pro.(It's how I know the cost)recently I had a credit gift (credit card)like American Express)how many cost <1$?

Simple. I support the ad free initiative. Just wanted to point out that, i keep getting an annoying error message, repeating with 'java.lang.NullPointerException' while i move files between folders within my external memory, with 'keep both copies' option. The move still works. Appreciate the hardwork.

Very rare unusual bugs. (Nothing serious. e.g. Wrong thumbnail file image appeared after copying a file??) Almost always very intuitive. (First time I copied/moved files to SD Card was difficult. But now easy.) Most important this App has never crashed/lost (deleted) any files.

Perfect for the job. Solid app with all the meat-and-potatoes features. The UI is simple and uncluttered, which is how it should be. I'm using it with the Simple Gallery app as an image file browser/viewer. The combo is the best I've seen on Android so far.

I moved from Google files to this because Google attempts to scan my whole phone everytimes I start it up. It lagged horribly (i mean google). This file manager is simple, it shows picture preview (something your core File app does not have), but to fully show the pic, you need another app. I think you can't blame this app for that. It's android way.

was ok for free basic app. if you were careful, and backed up important files and photos .now no longer updated and full of bugs, keeps losing photos and files now in free version. simply not good enough to be upgraded to a paid for app, as its very basic .and other alternative apps have far more functions and are more stable for same price shame. you cant charge money for a basic app anyone could design and build. Google store are full of basic unstable apps now that are useless & dont deliver

This app has failed to impress me. Really bad interface and UX. And why in the world is compression a pro feature? Its a basic feature if you ask me 🤷‍♂️ Its merely a file explorer with no special features, all you can do is brouse your files, while it gives you nothing special. It failed to impress me just like their other apps.

Great app so far. Dark theme easy on eyes unlike most other file managers, can delete files unlike with other apps, no strange file path like in samsung my files and doesnt play videos with its own default video player like with the google files app. Sadly certain file types automatically open with wrong app.

I love the app, also use gallery. but when sharing i can not see bluetooth as an option??? also root browser doesn't let me browse, I am stuck in the root folder when I try. the latter doesn't really matter since its 'simple' browser, however no option to share with bluetooth requires me to have another file explorer installed.. :/ fix and Ill give 5 stars redmi note5 pro - posp rom EDIT: can share some files over bluetooth, but no .apk files? other managers let me do it without issue

This version will no longer be updated and will be replaced with the pro version, outdated apps will often have compatibility issues, so I suggest everyone to buy the pro version or download another app. This is easily one of the best, easy 5 stars, but it has a big bug on android 10, you will only be able to see some images and videos on this app (and no other app). Usually happens when you create them on this app. Reply: It's hard to explain

this manager allows drag and select multiple files. not many other apps have such capability. but the drag and select function of this app needs more improvement, it has to be able to scroll the file listing (view) up or downward. thumbnails view of the files should be allowed

Works very well from what I've seen so far. I like that it has a favorite folders option. EDIT: I now see that the favorite folders option can't be accessed while copying and pasting. This severely limits its usefulness

Hi, this app is great and the ads is not really annoying... But I have a suggestion in the next update that there are storage analyzer like the other file manager, and can analyze duplicate file... And I will give 5 stars if you make this.

simple to use yet powerfull functionality also comes with personalization. simply the best phylosophicaly right file manager i found so far. tough im experiencing a lack of dynamic update, ex: files icons still stay after the actual file being moved (residual remains). wish for better update next time.

Love it, but would be perfect if there was an optional recycle bin functionality, similar to x-plore file manager. Otherwise excellent with no ads and nice UI. Great alternative to Google Files.

I wanted to move a file from internal to SD and it wouldn't display or navigate to a single folder on the SD card, I just want a simple folder browser that works... like Windows Explorer.

Not good used app to move holiday videos and photos to a newly created folder and all 408 files have size of zero kb. All are no longer viewable and have to assume all have been wiped. Shiite happens and it did with this app.

A very good file and root explorer. I love the theme adjustment as well. Everyone should go and buy the pro versions. Really cheap and easy to support the development.
