Since the release of Android, 10 the app no longer is able to connect to the fan controller. Without and update I am forced to charge and use an older phone in order to control my fan. All of this adds more hassle than keeping to an analog remote control. SIMPLEconnect is a failure.
0 rating due to lack of tech support from Hunter. I have a month trying to get into the app to setup. no one knows anything. Too expensive not worth purchase. After months of being told a was escalated to a supervisor, never got a call back... horrible customer service. Eventually tried setting up on iPad and was able to create my login. Not Android friendly. App doesn't work if away from home.
I would give it 0 stars if I could. If you previously bought a fan from Hunter, you're screwed. They don't upkeep this app, if you unpair your devices or uninstall the app you will never get them connected again and they won't help you or fix the issue. Doesn't work with newly updated phones, instead they made a new app which doesn't even connect with their old products, making your purchase useless. Never buying from them again.
Horrible setup! I'm pretty tech savvy, tried pairing and unpairing no luck! App is useless and now my remote won't even connect anymore! Update - Finaly able to use the app and now after 2 years the app stops working again and says the app is too old for my version of android. Hunter fan, please get with it!!! Not sure I'll buy another hunter fan after this annoyance!
This app needs an update VERY BADLY. The app need to let you know whether the lights or fan is on. it is supposed to connect with alexa but dont. Also when was the last update and what bug or fix was it. The info page still states V1.0 that has got to be revision 1 in other words no change has ben made. That same page has question, app and tutorio and none of them work the only one that works is the owner manuel. This would be a good product app as a whole fork up the fund's for software develop
It does not work. I did everything correctly over and over repeatedly and the fan failed to connect. I've checked all pin, password and security information to be absolutely sure. It is the app. And based on the reviews, it is the overwhelming concensus that this app does not work. I bought this fan for this connection ability so I consider my purchase to be based on fraudulent information and false marketing. I consider Hunter in breach of our agreement. Can anyone say class action suit?!
App stopped working. I got a message stating that the app is for older versions of android and may not work properly. Well it doesn't work. It doesn't do anything, the screen is blank and there are not updates available.
SHOULD BE RECALLED!!! Like many other's apparently, I couldn't get this thing to work. This thing is so problematic that even Hunter Fans can't get it working. According to the tech support people I spoke with, they have stopped supporting/selling these things because of ongoing issues. I find it a bit ironic that tech support tells me this yet they have not recalled the product and you can even still buy the unit from their own website.
It was working fine tell they updated the app now I cant even find or connect to my light. But if I use the old version on my old phone that I have not updated it works with no issues I can find my light and control it.
I have an S9 Samsung phone. While the app has some improving to go, I have full control of my fan thru Alexa and the simple connect app. 2.0. Hunter tech support was great, polite and patient and we resolved the problem, kudos to Hunter, the only fan to buy !!
Worst app I have used. Customer service says they are working to fix the android problem. I could not even register without an error! I'd say this borders on false advertising.
Needs an update incompatible with Android 10. Just release the source and we'll fix it ourselves. I am very disappointed with Hunter support on this product and the unreliable nature of it.
Doesn't work on newer versions of Android. Does work on latest iOS, at least today, but needing a separate device to control a ... Fan ... is not ok. Rating 1 star, will update if it ever is fixed (unlikely). Going to be installing a new controller in the near future.
Edit 09-22-2020 - This App is garbage. Hunter customer support and app support are garbage. This app still has not been upgraded to support modern versions of Android. App is broken. App is not updated for Android 10. Please update. It's now 2020, and Hunter *still* hasn't updated this broken app. I am forced to use Nexus5 with no security updates to use my controller (Bluetooth). Is there even hope at this point, Hunter, that we can believe you're going to support your paying customers?
I cannot believe that Hunter Fans discontinued the support of this app and did not communicate that to its customers. Even more unacceptable is they did not offer an option on how to continue to operate the fan. Calling the tech support number was a complete waste of time.
Just like everyone else! Does not work with updated Android. Luckily, I have an old phone without updated Android.. works perfectly with on the old application ! FIX THIS HUNTER!
THE most worthless app I've ever installed. I'm a hell of a lot stupider now for having tried it. It would have taken less time and much more productive to go find a midget to scale the wall, cling on to the fan and spin the blades by his pudgy little hands.
After Android 10 upgrade, this app is useless as it doesn't find the controller. And the new app does not have any options to configure the Bluetooth based wall controller
If you buy the older model fan's with just Bluetooth don't even try to download this app because we called customer service they no longer support old models because they are no longer are supported by technical service. Our fans are only a year old if that.
No reliability with the app at all AND no support. No support. Sad, companies say this and that to get you to buy their products... hey Hunter, when technology is part of your product - then invest in it, keep it working, keep working at it, OK?
I only had to use this app once. I connected it to Alexa and now Alexa controls my fan and light. the response time is quick sometimes 2 full seconds if Alexa wants to think about it. all in all. the app was good and I got to connect my fan to my smart home array.
These dimwits do NOT know they are doing. It doesn't work under Android 10 and their solution is to use the 2 button remote control.
This app was great until my phone received the Android 10 upgrade. Now I can't use it at all. Fan will not load. Is there plans to release an update to correct this?
Doesn't Casablanca Fan Company realize that the negative attention that they draw from their garbage apps costs them more in revenue than it costs to build a decent app? They need to seriously reconsider their approach to these mobile apps if they want to stay relevant. This app is poorly designed and works intermittently at best.
I am having the same problems that other people are experiencing. My app stopped working for my phone about a week ago. Nice company that won't support its own product.
Does not work with latest Android update. I was on chat with support for over 30 minutes and was told it will not be updated and to find other alternatives.
So frustrating when a new phone renders the app useless. The fan is only three years old and now I can only use the basic remote to turn it on and off. I can buy a better universal remote with dimming and speed controls but I shouldn't have to because they won't make the app work with newer devices.
