I love sling. I swear by it! We tried fubo, and it just lacked the variety that sling has, plus sling is less expensive. I hardly have any technical issues with sling that I can't live with. The people that have commented about sling crashing all the time, are over reacting, and probably have OCD when it comes to soft ware. They think if it doesn't work perfect 99.99999% of the time then it's some big deal they can't live with, and nobody else should either. The truth is, Sling is GREAT Try it.
This app has been very glitchy and at times completely unresponsive. I have rebooted my . I have friends that uninstalled and cancelled for this issue. Very unhappy with the performance.
I think the selection of channels is great. BUT, the streaming is terrible. I stream through chromecast, and it is the worst. Errors out, always jumps in and out of what you are watching. Everytime I go to watch something, it takes anywhere from 2-5 minutes to stream on my TV properly, sometimes longer!!! Does not stream properly anytime.
My biggest critique is the interface with Chromecast, it's hot trash. Picture jumps and stutters like an oId worn out VHS tape. Constantly pinwheeling and disconnecting. It could be because of the switch from a dedicated chromecast app to google home that's causing the issues, which is on Google. That's an entirely different story unto itself. I might get a roku or something when they're on sale this time of year. If Sling is just as glitchy on there, I'll be discontinuing for good.
Honestly I thought this was a great app with a choice of a number of Indian and International channels to choose from. Low and behold they have a million ads and they've made it worse because everytime you would like to forward the ads.. wait for it, there's another one before you can resume watching. What exactly are we paying for????? The number of ads are increasingly frustrating.
Sling is the best cablè cutter service. You get your local channels and ģreat çhannel lineups with the ability to customize them all. I say oh hell yeah sling it to me.
Sling tv has a poor UI and requires many clicks to reach to your program of interest. I have experienced Sling being down when live matches are going on or there is regular interruption in such kind of live sport events. Very poor performance when you want to watch a live match. I would recommend buying other steaming serives especially if you want to enjoy live sports.
What's the point of paying for the service if your app continuously fails to stream via Chromecast? Makes watching certain content, unwatchable.
It used to be pretty good app. However from last month or so it's watch/startover/resume buttons stopped working for galaxy s8+. Its basically useless app If u cant watch shows. On contacting customer service, they mentioned the work around was to switch the device. They dont have a release date for the fix because they will determine if it's not impacting majority users ( all android users are not their majority users it seems), they wont give priority to this problem.
Today is 9/11/20 and the App doesn't have an update available in ALMOST 3 MONTH!! MAYBE IF YOU UPDATED YOUR APP REGULARLY, YOUR CUSTOMERS COULD GET WHAT THEY PAID FOR!!!!!! I use the Sling app on my cell phone. I also use Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Netflix, Tubi, Pluto TV, YouTube, etc. on this phone. All of my streaming apps work great except for one! Sling! Maybe there is a reason for that!! Service is obviously oversubscribed and unable to perform during peak times - WHAT A SHAME!
unless I mirror my screen some of the channels cut in and out. otherwise better than cable cheaper than satilite. plus with unlimited data i can watch what I want for as long as I want and I still save over $150.00 a month. Never any down time and i believe that we have never had to call for help. didn't need to.
I liked the interface they had before the recent upgrade. UX is terrible with the upgrade which was rolled out to fire Tv and Roku. Some existing functionality was removed with the upgrade. While the look maybe perceived to be nicer, a lot of functionality is taken away and lost. Really bad....
Worst app ever keeps on crushing while shows is own commercial what is the point to pay for subscription when slings forces its own commercials ? Supper gready service
Sling is pretty good. Sometimes a channel I'm watching falls out, and I'm told to try again later. But not often, but it's a reasonable price option to expensive cable television. If the price remain reasonable I'm here to stay. Of it starts creeping up like Direct TV or Cox TV, I'm back to the antenna!
The app. Is great. I watch it all the time and it's always up to date with my new shows.even when I don't have time to watch I can record them an watch them when I have a chance. I give this app a 5 star rating. Best way to watch TV shows an movies or sports an all other channels are great HD viewing
i will be canceling this service. it only works decent about 25 petcent of the time. some channels stream better than others. i constantly get pauses and black screens. sometimes i cant connect at all. i know its not my tv or wifi, because netflix works perfect.
Keeps shutting my phone down when try to watch show. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling several times I'm still experiencing this problem. I'm having a difficult time getting a Sling representative for assistance with my problem. Please help.
On PS3 and FireStick this app will let you watch about 3/4 of an episode. It will get to the 2nd to last commercial break and then freeze. It's been doing this for about a year. Netflix, hulu, Disney, etc hardly ever freeze, if at all just Sling for some reason.
I have been a sling member for over 2 years and yes there has been some issues where it might say sorry era try again but nothing that no other app does this is one of my favorite apps it's better than Hulu is better than Netflix you can watch it live or you can watch it on demand you can get the orange and the blue package which is the sports channel where you can watch all your favorite football games all together you can watch all your ID channels Oxygen Channel shows I
The absolute worst app. when I cast using Chromecast to my TV, i see only the video, no audio. customer support is just a bunch of bots. I can cast netflix, hulu, YouTube via Chromecast, but somehow, this is the only one I can't.
I will probably give more stars later but as of now I'm just checking things out. My picture was doing a lot of freezing and I was able to go into settings click onto connections and change from unlimited to high-speed that seem to stop the freezing so it's okay👍
You can be in the middle of a show, and the app will just shut down or the screen will just go dark. By the time it comes back, you have missed the climax of what u were watching. Other than the crashing, i love sling.
After using Sling for a year I am used to its weird quirks. Mostly it works great on roku at home but the mobile app on S20+ has a poorly designed UI. Tmob buffered all the time but veriz pre paid never buffers! Overall its ok but no cbs or abc is dumb. I keep it because gps loc svcs is not required unlike hulu and direc tv now or whatever att renamed it.
Terrible even after upgrade. It takes forever to load, it buffers constantly and while u r watching a show it stops and tells u it can't be played. This is the only app that doesn't work on my TV. Gotta cancel again and stay canceled for good this time.
I wanted to use the app with an AirTV DVR for OTA channels, which the unit claims can be done WITHOUT a Sling subscription. However the app is unusable if I don't sign up for service. All I can access is the service choice splash page, there is no option to skip the free trial
The picture quality is pretty good, but the video buffering for sport broadcasts is horrible on a tablet. But the buffering isn't an issue on a phone. Ironically, the browser version of the app didn't have this problem, but recently Sling dropped its support for using a browser to access its programming.
