This is not the best app for the U8. I turned my 3rd party downloads on. Used the Qreader for the code...brought me to a foreign site...downloaded the app (has file size so look for it) Watch new youtube video. This app is great for many Bluetooth devices so don't give it a bad rating because you where misled.
Don't buy the watch or the app. The only action that I've been able to get the watch to do is make phone calls and tell me the time. Not to impressive imo. The notifier crashes whenever it connects to my phone and it doesn't seem like the Dev team is doing anything about it either.
I downloaded this because i saw many people struggling. I must say i got my U8 yesterday and to make it work perfectly i needed to download first btnotification app. U need to put the bluetooth on your phone and sync. Everything works in my phone. Gave 3 stars to this app because i don't need it, the other one did everything i wanted even putting my other smartwatch receiving fb notifications. For the phone contacts beware U8 sync the customized contacts so you must see which list your contacts are in.
You get what you pay for & you're expecting to much from such a cheap watch. I like it & when I have issues with the app(which I do have issues with it not seeing the watch, etc.) I just "Force Stop" it & then restart the app & all my issues are gone & that's running on either a Stock Cricket MotoG LTE or a rooted Note2 running CyanogenMod "nightlies" that get updated either daily or every other day.
It works for about 30 seconds allowing me to see my contacts and text messages then my smart watch shuts itself off and back on. The "smart watch helper" never completely sets up and judging from the other reviews it's never going to get fixed, don't install this app it drains it battery and u constantly have to keep setting it up. When this issue is fixed I'll give it five stars gladly
Help! Anyone please.. Only gave this app 3 Stars due to not being able to see messages on watch, it just says "Please install BT Notifier in smart phone" which I thought I had with this app, really annoying, I bought this watch so I didn't have to keep taking my Samsung S5 phone out of my pocket to check who had sent the message. It also doesn't let me use camera remote keeps saying "Disconnected BT Music" which I don't know how. Please fix or let me know how to fix.
LG G3 on Lollipop. I have the Soyan U8 watch. The APK that was recommended by the watch didn't work. Mediatek and Galapad only partially worked. This one at least lets me connect a wired headset and control the audio from the watch. I haven't been able to use a BT headset and the watch at the same time. This one is the best so far for this cheap watch... I can see sms and calls on the watch, but the notification doesn't show up on the watch... Oh well, it's cheap.
Pedometer is the only function that doesn't synch. I get messages, make calls, take photos and record steps. I've tried reinstalling the app on my Galaxy 5. The LCD goes to sleep so it has to be activated each time you want to see the time. I guess that saves battery life but it is inconvenient.
The app crashes on every device I have no matter what. Syncing messages and contacts are soon forgotten and the sound quality is poor. The app and the watch both need major revisions. Step counting is a failure and inaccurate, would be more useful if you could make it work with Google Fit or Samsung Fit.
Great concept, but too early for its kind. App crashes a lot. My biggest problem is if I had my phone plugged into a radio via auxiliary cord, and my watch via Bluetooth, and I press play on my music, it would come out of the watch. Couldn't find a way around it, and is the main reason why I bought it. I just wanted a hands free way of skipping songs while I drove. If anyone has any information on this, it would be much appreciated.
These little U8 Watches are pretty neat. The app pushes SMS, phone calls, any music from phone, has a watch finder, and I believe you can find the phone w/watch. Short battery charge time but very good life. 2 or 3 days. If u have a U8 watch ($18 on eBay free ship from USA!) Smart watches and all-in-one watch phones have been very popular for a long time, so I gambled on the U8 and won
I have tried 4 other apps and this is the only one that has worked with my u8 watch and my LG phone. It does drain the phone's battery rather quickly, but I'm just happy to finally get this watch working
Crap. Don't waste your money. If you want a smart watch, but a quality one from a reputable supplier such as google or samsung. This device is cheap looking and feeling, and as for the app, well I can't say much about it because it crashes everytime I try to use it to connect. I can see the watch and that's about it. Waste of money IMHO.
Synced messages and calling but not contacts which says is only problem for apple products. Gives options to sychronize but just gives me a ? Mark. Click contacts says no contacts. Please fix or tell me what im doing wrong cuz the "Do it yourself set up" for a app that supposedly syncs information isnt working. Zte zmax.
Ok for calls. Doeant work for texts or messaging. Every now and again it disconnects from phone and watch sets time back one hour. Not the best
Here, word of advice for all of you who can't walk and breath at the same time, read specs morons- my first smart watch = gear 2. Guess what, same problems half you idiots are having, guess what, my phone BT 4.0 Gear 2 BT 4.4 Guess what that means, not their fault, I have this working great, have talk to text install, Facebook, etc, and it works great on 2 phones, Microsoft Lumia and my ZTE, so no idea what you morons are doing wrong
will not stay connected if it finally does connect. none of the apps on watch even work. stupid pedometer is nothing but a timer. what a wasre of money
App crashes every time. Watch asks me to accept serial port which I do. Then app crashes on phone and the watch says serial port failed. Go to messages on watch and it says 'please install BT Notifier in smart phone'...THAT'S WHAT I'VE DONE!!! What do you expect for a 30 quid 'smart' watch...
It matches my u8 but when iturn off my watch. My contacts are erased too and it freezes every time I try to view them.
Hoping to covert my units to imperial but anytime I'd connect it would immediately disconnect this app is useless
This is only app that work on my U8. Only sms notification is working. The pedometer data sync does not work. I am running lollipop.
I knew I was getting a cheap phone but didn't realize I was deliberately getting ripped off. Do NOT buy this watch. Nothing works without an app.
The app sets up and links but as soon as I try to connect for text messages it crashes. Please fix
Will not sync or wire with U8 watch. Does not even connect. Very disappointed as it just seems to be something that only works for some.
The app keeps crashing and messing up my phone so I can't use it unless I do a hard reset.

That's a Negative Skycaptain. I think the first review is from the developer, because this thing performs like every other review says: craptastic. Phone calls work, but despite downloading this app it still insists that I need to download the "BT notice app".
Like everyone else.. nothing but the phone calls work. Also downloaded the app but keeps telling me to download it every time I try to use texts. I see mostly all complaints and apparently nobody doing anything about the problems from app people. No wonder watches are so cheap !
